A nice family home near the sea in New Plymouth. We welcome travelers who would like to help in the garden and do some housework or cooking plus walk our dog on the beach and be part of what we do each day. We enjoy sharing this part of the world with appreciative open minded people. I'm an ocean scientist and I travel a lot, and have two sons who are home during the university holidays. There is one other person living with us and one dog. Nearby the surf beach is pretty good and we have surfboards to loan. There is a spare room with two beds for helpers.

We have a 4 Ha block of land about 20 minute drive away. Helpers keen to plant trees, weed riparian areas, mend the fence etc are very welcome.

Hello there,

I have a small lifestyle block available for approximately 1 week stays. The land is always in need of maintenance and development i.e. landscaping, weed eating, veggie garden, pruning, small handyman building projects and stone works. There are native bush, quaint waterfalls and picturesque scenery.

We are 'off the grid' with alternative power/water supplies, offering vegetarian meals and laid back living.

Hours expected: 5 hours a day (Includes 3 meals per day)

Unwind after a days work in our outside baths or relax in front of the fireplace.

We are situated 5km from the township of Urenui which consists of a local pub, cafe, 4 Square, takeaways, gas station and Mike's local Brewery just a few km out of the village. There are numerous beaches 5-10mins from here. In less than half an hour you can be enjoying all the great things New Plymouth has to offer (beautiful Mount Taranaki, world famous Pukekura Park, the Coastal Walkway, Len Lye Art Gallery to ... more inside

We live on a marae. there are many houses and gardens to be cared for. The larger area is approx 19.2 hectares, the area we take care of is about 3 hectare. There are several buildings with two marae and many other buildings. The plan is to be organic in all the gardens on the pa. we are with ours.

Help through out the year would be welcome. Parihaka Pa, on which we live, is a historical site in New Zealand History, it would be ideal for those who want to be part of Maori culture and to help us out with various activities through out the year. The maori language is often used.

Marae style living, we share the evening meal, sleep on the floor in the wharenui (living space) To be part of our family the culture we practice is based on our ancient maori practices.

We are close to the mountain, beaches, surf, the nearest city is New Plymouth, 50k's and Hawera is 63k's to the south. We have a grocery store 7k's away. Nearest petrol is there, it is closed on Saturday a... more inside

We run a motel and backpackers. We have an organic vegetable garden and are planning to plant the back 2 acre field, using permaculture philosophies.
We both work full time as teachers and often need a hand to keep on top of chores around the place.
-weeding
-planting
-household chores
-walking the dog
-interior painting(including murals if inclined)

We provide accommodation in either the lodge or the self contained cottage. Full kitchen facilities and utensils are available. We would prefer if helpers cooked for themselves, as we are often home late, and worked less hours: 1-2per day.

Eco gran! I have a small 'urban farm' ... a productive backyard in the suburbs, 3.5 kms from city centre. Fruit trees, berries, herbs, veges, edible weeds, 6 hens (chooks), worms. Next project is to create a brick paved outdoor seating area - plus usual busy spring garden work. Sometimes like 1 (maximum 2) people who are genuinely interested to help with garden, seedlings, hens, seasonal bottling & preserving; help with small carpentry jobs and paving especially appreciated :-). I work full time, so garden in spare time. Small house so prefer shorter stays. Close to Fitzroy beach, river, coastal walkway.

I've travelled /lived in Sth & SE Asia; welcome travellers.

Can provide simple accommodation & food in return for 4 hours work a day. As house is small I prefer shorter stays.

You would stay in the visitors bedroom with a double bed - or you could have a tent on the lawn if you prefer (maybe that would be more suitable in summer!) The house is smoke and TV free; wireles... more inside
