We are situated in the picturesque Pohangina Valley on a 10 acres lifestyle block. This is about 25 kms (20 mins) from Palmerston North. We can arrange for you to be picked up from Palmerston North if you don't have your own transport.

Our home is next to a river which is great for swimming and fishing. Great place to be in summer. We are also close to several walks but you will need transport to get to them.

We mostly have a furry family consisting of 2 dogs (inside), 4 cats, 2 goats, pigs, sheep, 1 highland bull, his girlfriends, chickens and ducks.

You must like animals, as most of ours are pets and love attention.

There is a variety of things that we need help with, gardening, painting, firewood and general chores around the property.

Helpers need to have some get up and go and be able to work alone. We prefer a couple or two friends (only have a double bed) over the age of 25 and a stay of at least one week.

The accommodation that we offer is a sunny separ... more inside

About your hosts - John is the property owner and lives in the main part of the house, while Kate lives in a side flat and home-schools her two daughters (10 & 16). We enjoy meeting people from all cultures and sharing stories & time together. In the evenings we may watch films, practice yoga, play board/card games, do crafting etc or just relax and read - you are welcome to join us! Also residing on the property are a collection of cats, chickens, ducks and bees.

We live in a river valley just outside Palmerston North, in the Manawatu area, and we are about 15km from town. We have a large family home (which we are still building) on a small 'lifestyle' farm with sheep, cows, horses, chickens, ducks, geese, dogs, cats, tree frogs & a goat. There is a lovely swimming hole just below the house and we make our own power.
Our extended family & friends live near by.
There are almost always farming, fencing, building, home made power, organic gardening, weeding & tree planting activities to be done...and music making. We love talking to you and trying your cooking, and Sue loves to paint & draw and make music with you :-)

Hello people!

We are a couple (both 30) with 2 young children (3y.o and 10m.o) and a quarter acre residential property in The Horowhenua. We are renovating an old art deco house and developing the garden to grow organic vegetables and native trees! Permaculture, chickens, house maintenance/renovations and kid stuff is us in a nutshell!

Help we require is a mixture of childcare, cleaning, gardening and if you are handy with a hammer and paintbrush that would be awesome too!

We look forward to hearing from you! (if you have a partner we might be able to work something out...!?)

Hello

We have just bought a house that needs a lot of renovations, it is old and in need of sanding, painting and cleaning. It is an exciting project and my partner and I are doing as much of it ourselves as possible. We would love a hand with all sorts of things from sanding, painting, cleaning to gardening and lawn mowing. With your help we can get ahead with all our projects and we look forward to meeting you and sharing Masterton with you!

Look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi, we live on a very small lifestyle block with a few sheep, two cats called Harry and Frankie, 8 km's from Feilding and a 15 minute drive to Palmerston North.

We're both in full time employment and our younger daughter is at University, our older daughter is away in England and our son lives in Feilding so would suit people who are fairly independent and don't mind being here on their own. We are home over the weekend though. Local attractions include the Manawatu Gorge walk, Feilding Coach House Museum, Palmerston North Esplanade and a variety of walks. Plus it is only 30 - 40 minutes drive to the beach.

There are always odd jobs we need some help with for 2 - 3 hours a day, whether it's in the garden, re-decorating, housework or cooking. We love to try new dishes and love meeting people from other cultures/countries.

We can pick-up from airport/train or bus if required.
