Accommodation is in a separate converted sheep shed where I supply the food and you do your own cooking as mine is not that great. I prefer work to start no later than 10am. Arrival is on a Monday morning at 8.30am and departure is also on a Monday at 8.30am. I am not vegetarian but vegetarians are welcome with appropriate food supplied. Smokers welcome if you smoke outside. Pretty much everything you need is supplied.
I need a bit of help renovating an old train carriage into a tiny house and if you are a carpenter menuisier your help would be much appreciated.
I generate some of my own power with solar electric and solar hot water, muesli, laundry detergent, soap, jams, preserves, seed saving, spin and knit wool and grow beef and vegetables and beekeeping bees for honey. Also I have about an acre of blueberries. Blueberry season is generally in January and February.
While I do these things I don't do them every day as farms are seasonal. I have a variety of animals and general... more inside

I live on a suburban property in Island Bay (not a farm), 15 mins drive (25mins bike ride) from downtown Wellington, 3 mins bike from beautiful Island Bay beach. We live 3 mins walk from the village, where there is a supermarket, library, cinema etc. We are on the main bus route (Number 1 bus goes to/from town every 12 mins).

I live with my 14-year-old son, my partner and his two 11-year-old girls and 2 flatmates.

Ideally, you would arrive Monday and leave Friday, because that is when there is a bed available (accommodation is in my son's room when he is at his Dad's house for the second half of every week).

I would ask for either
4 hours work a day, with meals provided
or 2 hours work a day, no meals provided

No work expected the day you arrive or the day you leave.

Bikes (need fixing), kayaks, snorkelling & rock climbing gear, unlimited wifi are all available for use.
No smoking on the property please.

I work full time, so you would need to be independen... more inside

Come and stay in our own private little valley and immerse yourself in the sounds of the babbling stream and birdsong. Enjoy the feeling of being out of the hustle and bustle while being just 10 minutes from Lower Hutt CBD.

More of a massive garden than a farm, there's never a shortage of jobs to do :). Outdoors there's general gardenening maintenance; weeding; fruit picking (in season); fixing up fences and steps and things; moving things around; feeding chickens and sheep; etc; etc. Inside (for rainy days) we might ask you to help with cooking; cleaning; maintenance and other projects. Currently the major jobs are weeding and general garden mainenance and maybe some fence building. As it is coming in to winter now you need to be willing to work outside even if it is lightly raining (and cold!) We won't make you work outside if it is really heavy rain :)

Accomodation is dependent on when you come and who else is here. You might be in a private room in a separate (share... more inside

Hi,
We are a family of 4.
Kelly is a stay at home mum who also works part-time mostly from home.
Stu works in Wellington at NZRTA. He leaves early in the morning and gets back at about 5.30pm.
Ella is 8 and Hazel is 6. They have great imaginations and love to play together . They enjoy being read to, doing crafts, walks on the beach....
Harry is our enthusiastic small dog who to be honest needs to spend more time on the end of a lead. Lemon is our cat.
We live one street back from the beach and at the end of our road is the entrance to Queen Elizabeth Park (great for bike riding, running etc). We have a reasonable sized section and try to grow our own organic vegetables and have the odd fruit tree. Any help with this would be much appreciated!

We would love helpers from time to time to help with odd jobs both inside and outside of the house: gardening, painting, helping with housework (vacuuming, doing dishes). Would be great if you are able to cook and ab... more inside

Hi! I am a local outdoor adventure teacher and circus performer.I live in a restored home and am now working on restoring the shed and garden.

It is a quiet suburban home very close to shops and the train to the city. The home is open and light with wooden floors. I have one spare bedroom with bed, WIFI and normal house services. There is also a caravan in the garden. I have one mature female flatmate who is lovely and contributes to the quite and friendly space.

Our house is quiet and personal, hang out near the fire. We eat good food and enjoy sharing stories about travels.

As far as help, I have painting, gardening, decorating type tasks I am working on. If there is an aspect of this that is preferred, the help would be appreciated. We can arrange hours and provisions that can be made before arrival.

As an outdoor leader i would be hapy to help you set up for any journeys around the country.

We are a couple in our 50s who need help both in the house and garden.
If you come and help you can enjoy the views and ambiance of our home. We have a games room and a spa.
We would like to get things tidyed up and need a hand. We offer food and accommodation for 4 hours help a day.
We love having people in our home so you could meet other people as well. We are in the Lower Hutt but have an acre of land. The bedroom has one double bed so is best for couples or a single person.

Look forward to hearing from anyone.
