Winter is a time of slower work maintaining and updating. Usually work starts when the sun is well up. We can host people over the winter and would be happy if you were able to give us more than the usual week or so.
Family oriented lifestyle block close to scenic sites, shops & beaches. We are retired Salvation Army Officers and have four generations living on the property and accommodation is in the main house with us. We are pretty laid back but welcome a good work ethic and teachable spirit, Use of washing machine and wifi.
We believe we have a unique lifestyle experience in that we raise Monarch Butterflies from Spring until Autumn. We have growing vege gardens and orchards that we are establishing by growing with woodchip/mulch for healthy growing. We have sheep and chickens and two youngish calves.
We are a nonsmoking/drug free property.
It would be necessary to have own transport or car license as we are 4 kms from nearest town Richmond. Mostly we would expect work in t... more inside

Karen and Paul and our 3 grown-up girls who visit quite often. We have just moved to a new home in Kina near Nelson with 4 hectares, where we have a few cattle and a horse. We have just extended the vegetable gardens as we enjoy mostly, good healthy home grown food. Paul does lots of fishing so that is frequently on the table. We eat most healthy foods and occasionally others not so!! We have 2 gorgeous properties, with the beach only 10 minutes walk away. Karen grows lots of flowers and does wedding settings, flower arrangements etc. As there is a fair bit of gardening, so some previous gardening knowledge would be an advantage. We have a holiday home next door to us which is generally pretty busy with guests, so most weeks there is a cleaning & washing schedule to carry out. Usually a bit of a rush before the next guests arrive. Paul is very busy starting a new venture making eco-friendly fishing sinkers, & needs help labelling, packaging etc. We have fairly hectic lives, thoug... more inside

Come & join the crew at our homely hostel in central Nelson. We have one Exchange Worker leaving soon.

We are a 5 to 10 minutes walk from town. The atmosphere here is very friendly, warm (log fire and heaters in all the rooms) and relaxed. Good Kiwi music, lots of books and magazines, games and a guitar.

Work is for up to 3 hours a day with one day off a week. We like you to stay for a minimum of 3 weeks. In return you get free accommodation, free breakfast (may-nov) and every night we serve up hot chocolate pudding and ice cream all year around. Also free use of washing machine and free unlimited wifi.

Work will be mainly helping to clean the hostel, but might also be gardening, painting, maintenance, etc..... there's always lots to do depending on your strenths & interests.

We extra value people that are very keen, enthusiastic, and love to help out in any way to give our guests the best experience they can get.

Email us - we look forward to hearing from you.

Kia ora.
Sorry we donít need helpers until September.
Welcome to a great New Zealand cafe.

We are a hard working and fun loving couple and are looking for the same. We need helping hands in the cafe and with our accommodation (The Boot).
We also always need help from keen gardeners for our extensive permaculture garden.
Practical hands are always good, bring your energy and enthusiasm.
There is separate accommodation for a couple.
Helpers must be prepared to share evening meals and cooking duties with us. All food provided.
Close to the beach and enroute to the Able Tasman.
We appreciate at least 3 days notice before we have helpers to stay and will reply to your enquiries within 2 days.
There is a limited bus service to Tasman, the best bus is the Abel Tasman Coachlines or the Naked/Atomic bus but make sure you tell them you are going to Jester House in Tasman (via Mapua). It is easier if you have your own transport.
Kind regards,
Steve.

We are looking for ONE FEMALE helper from 7 June for two weeks (or longer, if you wish). We need approx 3 hours of help per day (e.g., weeding, babysitting, cooking, cleaning etc). We provide dinner and a bedroom (i.e., you need to provide your own breakfast and lunch). We prefer someone with previous experience in childcare.

I am a Japanese female married to a kiwi. We have a 3.5 year old daughter, Miyu. Our sunny and warm 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house is 4yr old. We enjoy taking our helpers to the famous Saturday market and Tahunanui beach etc.

Miyu is generally an easy child to look after and sleep throughout the night. We have a rabbit, and enjoy growing organic vegetables. We can pick you up from Nelson. Our house is 5 min walk to the Richmond Mall, and close to library & bus stops. You can catch a ride into Nelson on Nathan's electric car, too.

We are interested in sustainability: I have a Ph.D. in Zoology. Nathan, is an architect and had taught English in Taiwan for 1.... more inside

Hi there,

We are not currently hosting, but if you are a handy, enthusiastic, and not afraid of heights kinda person please send us a message. My father who just lives 2 ks down the coast is building a house and could really do with some help.

Building experience isn't absolutely necessary if you have a great attitude and work ethic. But its physical, and you would need to be happy to get your hands dirty.

In return you'll have a very cosy, private sleep out with ocean views. There is a small fridge and microwave in the sleep out and a bathroom set up not far away in the garden. The kitchen is in the main house. They live only a short 5 min drive from central Nelson, and can provide a great base for someone wanting to see more of the region.

Hours, meals and potentially a bit of pocket money can all be negotiated depending on how the build progresses.

This could easily turn into a few months work exchange for the right person. But a weeks trial for both of you would... more inside

We have a gorgeous 60 acre farm located 20 minutes from Motueka. We run cattle on our farm and have a small Wagyu Cattle breeding program. Our house is a 2 bedroom house but we also have a sleep-out available. I have a horse, 2 cats and 3 dogs. Its a pretty relaxed farm with just myself and husband at home. We have been on this farm for just over a year and busy making changes and improvements.

We have a small farm in a beautiful location 30km outside of Nelson. Near a small village called Wakefield, alongside the farm work i run a small business, www.wildoatsfarm.co.nz offering party ponies, trekking for both children and adults.

Along with my husbands work as a shearer and our 10 year daughter we can be a busy family.

Find us at the website Wild oats farm Tasman.

Help is always needed, playing and supervising our daughter when at home, helping around farm, with the animals and chores in the house. No experience needed, but if you can ride that would be a bonus

We would like someone with a positive and happy outlook on life, who enjoys living in a rural location and who can survive without being on a computer 24 hours a day!
Must be able to drive a manual car and we would prefer someone who could stay with us for a longer period of time.
In return, own room, meals/food, WiFi and time off daily.
Looking for people mid June
Sorry no couples no vegetarians.
