Welcome! Would you like a unique experience in an alternative lifestyle community on the beach? I am a member of Bundagen, an intentional rural community of around 150 people, just south of Coffs Harbour. It is surrounded by Bongil Bongil National Park, has a great beach, lots to do like surfing, yoga, music and parties. I cook great food. I am happy to show you around the district and include you in whatever I may be doing. H

I have an organic garden and various other projects including a creative building poject. Plenty of scope for building skills as I am building a bathroom, and working on my house. My shed could do with some organisational help too. I am happy to have help ranging from the artistic to the practical, in exchange for enjoyable food, comfortable lodgings and good company.
I would like to learn a few words in other languages and help you with your English. I play music on Monday and Tuesday nights so you may have to entertain yourself on those nights or exp... more inside

What is expected of you:
4 easy hours per day, 5 days a week. Days off are flexible. You get 7 days meals, accommodation and transport. Best if you stay at least three weeks. If you book please turn up or notify us if you or not coming. We refuse a lot of HelpXers and find so many of the ones we agree to take are not turning up. We are away from shops and the tourist venues but others live separately on the farm. Unfortunately we get a few weeks of wet weather each year so we mainly stay inside the house and don't do outside work. During the winter months we hosted three groups of Chinese students. They didn't write a review but were happy with their stay.

Farm duties include:
Working with the host on the farm. Jobs are to keep the farm running with cattle, coffee, chickens, nut and fruit trees and home garden. We have old work clothes you can use. This is a large hobby farm not a commercial operation.

Our house is in beautiful Port Macquarie and is within walking distance to beautiful beaches, Coles & Dan Murphy, downtown shopping, Koala Hospital, town pool, library and restaurants.

Accommodation and provisions for 3 meals per day is in exchange for 4 hours help (each person) per night you stay (including weekends). Jobs could be cleaning, cooking, gardening, office tasks, painting, computer updates etc.

Work times (time of day & duration i.e. you can work more some days to have other days off) are worked out to suit both parties.

Most visitors are 'passing through' Port Macquarie so stays of a couple of days up to one week are ideal, although, I have had visitors stay for up to one month.

Port Macquarie is 2 hours south of Coffs Harbour (5 hours south of Byron Bay) between Sydney & Brisbane (5 hours north of Sydney, 6 hours south of Brisbane)

Looking forward to hosting you.

NOTE: Vacancies from June 2018 onwards.

Currently working on the vegetable garden and propagating trees and other plants - if you want to learn now is the time.

Hi, I run an alpaca stud specialising in suri alpacas. I also run Wiltipoll sheep as a source of meat. I am attempting to be fully self sufficient and the accommodation is all off grid (but very high tech). There is also satellite TV for the evenings. However, you still need to be aware of not leaving electrical appliances and lights running unnecessarily as well as 5 minute showers. I have only been living here since August 2014 and am still building the garden to the standard I want as well as fencing off various areas.
I have internet access but like all rural areas am limited to 25GB a month which I need mostly for work. Mobile phone coverage is not reliable but there is a land line for emergencies. You are best off with Telstra as there seems to be better coverage by them.

Welcome to the Rhythm Hut!!

We are the home of drumming on the Central Coast, located halfway between Sydney and Newcastle, amid patches of city, expansive bush, and gorgeous coastline. It's only a two minute walk to the train station and a five minute walk to Rumbalara natural reserve.
This is a drumming school, thriving community space, and live music venue that hosts everything from grassroots local artists to esteemed international acts. Our mission is to nurture a healthy community that brings people together through music and learning.
During your stay here, you are invited to participate in not only drumming classes (african djembe and japanese taiko of all levels), but ukulele, singing, yoga, and Australia's own unique sound, the didgeridoo (men only). Beyond music courses, you'll also be able to see live music and get cozy within a community of friends and family that make this place so special.

We are looking for residents to come and stay with us for a minimum... more inside

I operate a small guesthouse (formerly, Andy's, the world's second smallest backpackers lodge) in the heart of Barraba (pop 1200, an hour north of Tamworth). Relaxing open-house lifestyle and meeting place in town. Piano & guitar, bush trips, local community activities. Wi-Fi available. I like to take each day as it comes.

Would appreciate help with some landscaping projects over the next month
