This listing is for two separate properties, one in St Kilda West and one in Somers, The Mornington Peninsula.(70mins drive from Melbourne).

At the moment, I need help in Somers and not in St KIlda.

Both properties have a comfortable, good sized, QS bedroom for Helpxers. Both properties have internet and all mod cons.

1. Somers, The Mornington Peninsula. (photos below. Interiors to follow).

This is a 3 bedroom (2 bathroom) beach house, 5 minutes walk to a lovely safe, clean, sandy swimming beach, in the small coastal town of Somers on The Mornington Peninsula. This is a residential area, however The Mornington Peninsula is a summer destination for holiday makers in search of both Bay and wild, surf beaches great hiking, local food and award winning wine (mainly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay).

There is a train from Melbourne to Frankston, change for Bittern or Hastings and there is also a bus from Frankston to Somers. I am happy to pick people up from stations nearb... more inside

We are a family of 3, Michael, Heather and 14 year old Eloise. Heather goes to work Monday - Friday and Eloise is at School whilst Michael manages the property and works part time.

We really enjoy hosting travellers from around the world and appreciate the help we get in managing our property whilst learning about diverse lives and culture.

Our property is located one hour from Melbourne and sits atop a pristine Mountain 10 minutes from Healesville. The world class Healesville sanctuary and the many Yarra Valley renowned wineries are a short drive away. Healesville is abuzz with tourists and town folk who enjoy the coffee, markets and art space that is central to who we are.

Our property is surrounded by cool climate Mountain Ash forest. There is plentiful wildlife, including, lyrebirds, wombats, wallabies, kangaroos and numerous native birds. Our farm has cows, sheep, and free range chickens as livestock. And of course a crazy border collie!
We have a large vegetable ... more inside

I am feeling quite disappointed with the government rules on working visas as helpers don't seem willing to come visit my beautiful property. The weather has been absolutely fantastic this autumn.I have had 1 helper since Xmas. I am in need of 2 helpers with the grounds maintence. You will stay in the main house with your own bedroom and shower, meals will be prepeared together. I prefer to have at least 2 people at a time. Now is a great time for Australian emu's, kangaroo's and wallabies to be seen in the wild. This property was a commerical trout farm, it was burnt out in the 2003 bush fires. We purchaced the property in Febuary 2007 over run with blackberries and tree suckers. Property has double creek frontage. The pristine Nariel Creek is the main creek. We are in the process of cleaning up the blackberries, dead trees along the banks of the creek to gain access to fish for trout, swimming, canoeing, gold paning and spying the odd platypus. The property is surrounded by crown l... more inside

Welcome to our little farm on the internet. We have been hosting international travelers for eight years and it has been a rewarding experience for all.

We share our passion for ethical and sustainable farming to anyone that has an interest. Our ideal helper is one that loves animals and will use their time here to interact and be involved with their care. Having your own initiative is a real bonus to us.

Seeking friendly open minded person that is happy to help around the home and around the farm. We prefer helpers to stay a minimum of two weeks and those with horse handling experience are very welcome.

Located two and half hours west of Melbourne just off the Great Ocean Road. Plenty to see and do when time is your own.

Guests stay in the main house, with your own room and shared bathroom. All meals are meat and fish based with vegetables taken from the garden if the previous helpers have done their job ;) There is never a shortage of fresh vegetables and fruits. ... more inside

This is a permaculture small farm on the edge of Violet Town, just 800m from the train station. The farm is well established, as most tree planting was done between 1996 and 2000.

We have a large established fruit and nut orchard, an olive grove, vegetable gardens, chickens, milking goats, bees, forestry for shelter and timber, and large dam for irrigation and swimming. Our house is made of timber and mudbrick, and we catch our own water. Most of our food comes from the house garden and farm, including a huge range of fresh fruit all year round, a range of vegetables for each season, honey, cheese, olive oil, table olives, and home killed or hunted meat. We eat shared meals, most meals are vegetarian.

Type of jobs: farm and garden work, combined with learning, and share of household tasks, including food preparation from farm ingredients. Depending on your skills and interests and our needs, tasks can include caring for our vegetable gardens, orchard, goats and chickens, chee... more inside

This is a homestay with a family on large property in the Dandenong Ranges, about an hour from Melbourne CBD. We have a large amount of outdoor work to complete, including tree removal, building fences, path/step construction and other general maintenance around the property.
We are looking for 1 or 2 people who are happy to work outdoors for approximately 4-5 hours per day in exchange for all meals and board. it is currently my husband, myself and our son who live at the property. We all work/study/school so are not all here all of the time but someone is generally home to oversee the work and be on hand to assist.
The room for helpers in our house and it is a large queen size room with private bathroom, television and wifi. It is only one bed but travel companions welcome who are happy to share the space. Plus you are welcome to share the main family living area and generally relax around the home enjoying our beautiful surrounds.
Meals would be with the family in the evening ... more inside

"Glendara" is about 4 and a half hours midway between Melbourne and Adelaide and is situated on the Glenelg River with rolling hills, red gums and lots of birdlife and kangaroos.

We are sheep graziers with a little bit of cropping each year, mainly to renovate pasture. We also have a 2 bedroom cottage on our property that we run as a B&B.

Helpx workers with or without farming experience are very welcome at our property, just come with a keen attitude and a willingness to learn.

It is Autumn now with a beautiful green outlook across the farm and surrounding hills, thanks to recent well needed rain.

There are always a variety of jobs Helpx workers would be able to assist with....helping Geoff with sheep work, preparing paddocks for sowing crops, general maintenance around the farm or helping Cherryl keep up in the garden or with some general housekeeping.

We love meeting people and have a big home that allows for helpers to have their own bedroom and bathroom. If you en... more inside
