Hi, Welcome to Tregoss Barton and Outlandish Holidays !

We live in a large Cornish stone house. (I converted it from a barn in 2001/3) Set in about an acre of gardens, on the Lizard peninsular, almost as far south west as you can travel on the UK mainland.
Overlooking the sea, "Falmouth Bay", and just a short walk to the beach. It's really very beautiful.
The area in which we live has been farmed for many hundreds of years.

The main word at tregoss barton : Community.
We live together, work together, and you may have to share a room. Itís more than a team, itís a family.
You will meet people from all over the world, discover traditions, learn work skills and practice community life.
When you leave Tregoss Barton, you leave with memories for life, friends by your side and sometimes, love in your heart !
ę My experience at Jonathan 's place was one of the best experiences of my life. I spent 5 weeks in that amazing place with amazing people, I made friends which I hope... more inside

Hello from Dave and Jan!
DO YOU REALLY LOVE DOGS? WOULD YOU LIKE TO LIVE WITH US AS PART OF OUR FAMILY?
We are now looking for helpers from April onwards.
We have 3 lovely dogs, a cat, chickens , ducks and sheep.
Our house is a dog hotel, with dogs staying with us for their holidays. The dogs are all in the house with us, so we prefer you to have some experience with dogs. You will have to walk them whatever the weather, feed them and clean up after them. We also have a cattery where cats stay for their holidays.
You will be working with the animals, gardening, painting, cleaning the house, chopping wood etc. There is always plenty to do so we guarantee that you will not be bored! There is a chance to learn about training dogs in various activities.
You will be well fed with meat and vegetables from our garden where possible. We enjoy good food and conversation around the table, and hope you have a good sense of humour!! We also like to try food cooked by our helpers.

Volunteering in a seaside hotel.

Please note: following the internal rules, including those of mutual respect and consideration for all, are a real "must". To avoid disappointment, please do not apply if you can not follow them.

DO apply if you are enthusiastic, motivated and trustworthy, and love to overcome a challenge - you have an opportunity to grow and gain new skills (see multiple reviews below :)
Do NOT apply: if you are lazy, irresponsible, dishonest, do not keep your own word and are likely to put your work on someone else. You will not succeed - and you are likely to lose your place (see certain reviews below)

Would you like to join us in a friendly seaside hotel on the Promenade in Blackpool?
This is the place where the charm of the Victorian hotel meets the enthusiasm and the young spirit of an international traveller, where one can start a career as a general assistant manager, a chef, a designer, a builder, a barmaid/barman, etc. - and participate in reno... more inside

A very large rambling house, 100 years old. Large 3 acre garden set on hillside with views to mountains of North Pennines and Lake District. Great area for outdoor tourism with Hadrian's Wall and lakes nearby. Have wetsuits to lend you! Exceptional mountain biking.

Fruit bushes, orchard, and other fine plants and trees. All in need of care and preparation for spring.

Thanks to previous volunteers the house is now running successfully as a bed and breakfast and a weekend holiday let.

1 mile to a bus stop, 15 minutes drive to Carlisle train station. Quite isolated if you don't have your own transport. Bikes available.

I need help to paint exterior and prepare gardens. It rains here so you have to be tolerant and prepared to dress for the weather as there are few indoor jobs to do.

The hours would be spent out in the garden turning over beds and cutting back brambles, lawnmowing, path clearance, lighting fires, collecting wood and generally making property work and ... more inside

SITUATION - Lovely old cottage in a scenic part of England close to Dartmoor National Park and also the South West Coast.

WHEN - MARCH ONWARDS
WHO - Handyman, gardener. English speaking non smoking

WORK - Help is needed now both for painting the outside of the cottage as well as ongoing gardening work.

If you love animals and gardens you will fit right in here. Do you know the difference between plants and weeds?

The garden is open to the public for charity (a local hospice) it is very large and needs year round maintenance which can be heavy and often dirty work. I also have animals to look after but they do not take as much time to see to as the garden so if you don't like to garden then this would not suit you. It would also only be good if you like animals.

I am in the country one mile from the nearest public transport to Plymouth, 6 miles away, which has a population of around 250,000 a biggish city to visit for both interest and shopping. A great area if you ... more inside

Devon - general help with garden, clearing ground, weeding, firewood, fencing., a little help in the house.

We would love to meet someone who is able to help us with mostly outside jobs. Some of the work is quite hard so you must be strong and fit, and willing to work in all weathers! Also routine jobs like feeding / cleaning out hens, weeding, cutting hedges etc.

An understanding of garden and power tools would be useful.

We also have painting and tiling to do, so anyone experienced in this would be welcome.

A little help with housework may be required if we are busy with B&B.

We are musicians (traditional/folk) living in the South Hams of Devon - an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are self employed in musical instrument repairs and always in need of more time for our business - the reason we need some help. We live in an old cottage in a village with a bakery and a pub.

We are looking for someone to help who is strong and able and thoroughly practical... more inside
