**We have space from June until October**

We run a small outdoor cafe, open from Easter to the end of September each year. We are situated on the beautiful island of Kerrera, 5 mins off the coast of Oban in the west of Scotland. The island attracts lots of walkers and we are positioned in a great location 45 mins walk from the ferry on the south of the island close to Gylen Castle. It's the perfect place to stop for some good homemade soups, cakes and a nice cup of tea!

We also have a seven bed Bunkhouse open all year round.

Tasks would include working in the kitchen (lots of dishwashing!) and serving customers. We're open 10.30am-4.30pm, so we ask helpers to be ready to start at 10am. There will occasionally be other work such as cleaning, laundry and and gardening. Working hours will be dependent on how busy we are and we ask you to be flexible. Typically, it will be about 6hrs a day. However, we do aim to give you time to relax and explore this beautiful island!

Remote island in Orkney group rearing North Ronaldsay Rare breed sheep -the sheep roam the island and are pretty self-sufficient, eating seaweed for preference. We clip them with hand shears and manage them without dogs. Our flock is the second largest of this breed and we use their fleeces in every permutation in order to make them commercially viable - we are looking for help in every area of sheep management and maintenance of fences and buildings as well as with the production of our sheepskins, yarn and felted and woven goods. The island has many archaeological sites, seabird colonies, caves and good fishing. Our family live on the island alone but we have many visitors from local birdwatchers to pipe bands, and fishermen to poets.

This mixed hill farm is home to 16 cows, a bull, two goats, a large flock of sheep ,bees, poultry, ducks, five cats and two dogs with their two owners and quite a lot of wildlife. The farm is certified organic/biodynamic. We use Biodynamic methods, have no machinery and work hard to try to grow vegetables, shiitake and fruit at 650' on a south facing hill in a glorious area of South West Scotland. We welcome non-smoking meat eating or vegetarian help. We are far from shops and transport, quiet - a great place to watch the stars!

There is always a lot to do and we need help now! We hope to plant some more fruit trees and generally tidy up after a very wet winter. We have some recycled timber which we would love to turn into duck and/or hen houses and there is always fencing to renovate or dykes to repair!

We welcome people who like to get 'stuck in'. Right now we would like to use some old windows and breeze blocks to make a kind of greenhouse for the fig trees this winte... more inside

Hi. Thanks for looking at our profile.

We are currently looking for help to put the garden to bed for winter and in splitting logs for fuel.

This is what we are about in a nutshell:

We are creating a home for well-being, art and nature. Our lodge is a secluded, easily accessible guest house and retreat space offering bed and breakfast with stunning views of the Scottish countryside in the Kingdom of Fife. We offer a tranquil, relaxing space for those exploring the area, business people who want a more personal experience than a hotel or those just wanting to stay and be nourished in mind, body and soul" - Its a place where you can just "Be".

You will be supporting us in making the above guest experience possible.

We value authenticity, integrity, honesty and self-awareness.

We have put together this outline as a result of our hosting experience so far. We find that it helps to clarify what is on offer at Cherry Tree Lodge and what is expected of someone who comes ... more inside
