Sætre is a small farm (50 acres) in the Mountains of Norway, 600m above sea level and on the very edge of Hardangervidda.
We are a family of 3 easy going farmers (one from England, one from Norway and one who is only 18 months and is from a little bit of both).
Our farm was abandoned for 35 years until we bought it 2 years ago. There has been a lot of work in the last two years and there will be a lot more in the years to come to get Sætre farm back to it's former glory.
We are starting our farm project on a pretty tight budget and that is where you come in.
We need help with a huge and varied list of jobs and tasks. From clearing the forest and fields of debris and windfall, building, animal care (we have currently 6 sheep, 4 mohair goats, 15 chickens and a cat but all our flocks are growing!), setting up fences, gardening, cooking, painting, building repairs and much much more... Accommodation is in a small private hut. We do have wifi in the house but downloads limits are... more inside

Our kennel has 40 Alaskan Huskies and is owned by Stein Havard Fjestad. We are a racing kennel and our goal is to develop each athlete to the best of their potential. We have both young dogs and racing veterans. They are all being trained to compete in Scandinavia's major sled dog races.

Competing at the highest level, also demands a high level of care: It's a full-time job, and even considered a lifestyle, to keep all four-legged athletes happy and healthy. To provide the best care, Fjestad has a support crew of handlers who help take care of the dogs, train them and assist during races.

Helpers are involved in all daily activities like training the dogs, preparing dogfood, feeding and freerunning(playtime!). In spring, summer and fall, the dogs are trained with an ATV, therefore helpers need to have a drivers license.
We are located in the remote woods of Slettås. A perfect place for peace-seekers and nature-lovers. Helpers will share a house together with each their own ... more inside

Where East meets West, half way between Oslo and Bergen, is our historic farm situated 750 meters above sea level in the beautiful mountain village Leveld, surrounded by forest and mountains.

This historic farm has been in the family for generations, and many of the houses date back to 1865. Now it is our turn to take over and give new spirit to the place, and we hope you will join us in the process. The main income of the farm is to run the 9 tourist cabins. At the moment we have decided to give them a new and updated look, and this is the main focus. Spring or atumn is usually the best time to come.
About us: We are a family with 3 children (10, 13 and 17). Tone grew up on the farm and Pascal grew up in New Zealand/Australia.

Work: Painting and restoring the cabins are our priorities at the moment. If you have an interest in interior design/ photoes or web developement that could also come handy. Besides work might include, house keeping, child minding, gardening, landsc... more inside

We have been running this farm since 1997, with about 500 helpers for the eleven last years, and we have had some beautiful years when we look back.

70ha farm includes 50 ha forest and 15 ha rented cultivated land. The farm is located by a beautiful lake and nature reserve. Farm is old and we try to make it attractive and clean.

Farms main income comes from 18 bee hives . And the second incomes comes from selling organic vegetables. We also have some hens. We work with food processing , paint houses, cut firewood, and extract bee honey and maintain 18 bee hives . We sell products in a small farm shop in the summer time.

We are looking for persons who like organic gardenning , beekeeping and other related activities. We provide seminars according to your requests on Ecological farming, self psychology on life quality, meditation, various ideas on healthy simple lifestyle and yoga. Since we both work outside, it is necessary the helpers work with us when possible and get... more inside

Hello! I am restoring and restarting a small old farm on a beautiful island on the south eats coast of Norway. The place is located next to a small road in the forest, about 10 minutes walk from the sea. I'm building a sheep herd with an old style Viking sheep, setting up fences, chopping wood for cooking and heating, making hay, working a vegetable garden, collecting mush rooms, apples (making apple sauce), jam, herbs, wild berries and sea weed. Fixing my old truck, my old tractor, my old boat. Repairing the house, getting used building materials everywhere, renewing my barn to make it an art studio and I want to build a guest cabin close to the main house. Also, I carry out nature management and do ecological research. There's always a lot to do and you can also carry out your own projects over here. Artists are also welcome to work over here :)
There is no strict schedule of activities: I rather have people here doing something they choose and like to do, since there are many di... more inside

This is a small farm in Valdres. There are at the moment no animals on the farm, as my old dog died and my cat is gone. The farm is located in the forest 15 km from Bagn, and is a quiet place well suited for contemplation. There are three cabins on the farm, which I need help to finish. I am also remodelling my house. My plan is to have meditation retreats and workshops. I need help from 1 or 2 responsible persons to work in my organic garden, with the firewood, painting, help with carpentry, cleaning etc. I can take helpers on short notice. Just call me, and leave a message if I don't pick up the phone. In winter (from November until May) there is not much outside work to do, as the ground is frozen and covered with snow. You are still free to contact me, I might find some work for you.

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR GUESTS.
We learned a lot! Unfortunately we can only offer a room -we used for our parents to stay a week or 2- but that room has no window to the outside. So it is not optimal. But Katja from St Petersburg had stayed in this room for 2 months and Merle from Germany for 4.

We are a family of 5. Harriet(42), Mika (44) Finnja(10), Maileen(13), Pit(8).We are living in Trondheim, 15 min by foot to down town, and 200m to the fjord (" beach"). Most the time we need help for our daily life- be together with the kids an hour or two, making homework together, tidy up the house, making dinner, cleaning the floor et cetera. The kids are in school at day time. May be we will have minor renovation work from time to time.
We want you to be a part of our family while you are staying at our house. We love to do aktivities together like hiking in the mountains or a walk along the fjord or playing music.
You will have your own room (bed 140cm), shower and internet.

We live on an organic mountain farm in the Hardanger area, one and a half hour east from Bergen. In the summer, we grow vegetables and berries (strawberries, raspberries, red and black currants) and in the winter we work mostly with forestry as we sell birch firewood. We also have about 50 wild sheep which we feed in the winter with the hay we harvest in summer.
We are particularly looking for someone who has good experience either with carpentry or mechanic work (there is always a lot of work with cars or tractors that need some maintenance). There is work all year long when it comes to mechanic or carpentry, however when it comes to work in the field we only welcome people from may/june to september.
We usually prefer to welcome 1 person at a time, but we can eventually welcome 2 at special occasions. We expect 4 hours of work a day for food and accommodation. Helpers get their own room and access to free internet. We share a cooked meal every evening, we provide food for breakf... more inside
