Welcome to my country house!

We are a family of three, Tea+Gabriel+toddler Paul, living a quiet existence in the outskirts of a way-too-noisy-but-lovable metropolis, Bucharest.

Together with my cousin (living in France currently), I inherited a plot of land and a 2-room house from 1950's from my grandma, and since may 2016 we moved here. Didn't do much last year in the garden, focused on my son and repairing the house. My maternity leave is just over, and I got a part time job working from home so I would love some company around here (my husband has a corporate job in the city), to help me with making this year The Garden Year: pruning trees, plowing, planting, taking care of existing plants and trees, even some woodwork if you're a handy type person. We don't have any animals, but the neighbors do :)

There will be a lot of fun involved, cooking, chatting, running after the kid, maybe even some light walking about in the area, if you would like to discover it with my son a... more inside

Hello beautiful helpers!
We decided to go big this summer, with our NGO Artfusion Transylvania, and use all the locations we have here in Transylvania, both at the countryside and in the city center of Cluj-Napoca.
So, to keep it short, we would like to invite you to join us in the development of our creative space in 3 villages of Transylvania and in our house in Cluj. We will be building land art, planting gardens, building ceramic ovens and much more!
As of July, you are welcome to come and stay at the location of your choice. There will be a certain selection, based on individual skills and there will be at least one skype meeting, to make sure we will get along perfectly.
So, if you’d like to find out more about our projects, don’t hesitate to contact me on artfusiontrans@gmail.com. Pictures will come soon!

Our Home is a place for arts, culture, science and all manners of creative expression. We are a small team of great friends working on two different areas of Transylv... more inside

** Indoor project - ideal for Winter! **

Come help me with my natural hydroponics adventure and stay near the centre of the most vibrant city in Romania: Cluj Napoca.

Hydroponics is a technique for urban food growing that is capturing the imagination of people across the world because of its ability to be used virtually anywhere (no soil required), frugal use of water and space efficiency. Plus, no weeds! :)

Hydroponics (growing plants in water) normally requires artificial fertilisers, but I'm experimenting with a more natural approach, that uses a natural resource that's abundant in our cities: urine. Used properly, it's a safe, odourless and nutrient rich fertiliser.

It's a great idea, but how does it work in reality? Only one way to really find out - get hands on! In the same way, I learned about aquaponics (the same idea but with fish providing the nutrients) a few years ago. With the help of friends and HelpXers we built a 500 litre system in my back garden, for e... more inside

We are a young family (we are both about 30 years old) with a little boy that is 2 years old and also waiting for our second one to be born. We were both living in cities until 3 years ago when we've decided to move to the country side to live a quiet live, closer to nature. We are really happy with our choice and all the changes and the things we've learnt while living here and we would love to share our experiences with other people.

Our farm is located in the center of the country (about 70km to Sibiu and 70km to Brasov), in a quiet village with a beautiful view of the Fagaras montains, 2 km near the Olt river.

We have a vegetables garden that we grow ecologically for our own use, a greenhouse for vegetables, few fruit trees and 6 bee hives.

We have about 1400 mp, with an old oak tree and a small river crossing our garden.

Some activities that we would need help with are: ecological gardening, landscaping, taking care of the bee hives, building fences and outbuildings... more inside

We are a Permaculture School Farm that is in construction where you can learn good skills about building your own house, growing your own food and many other.. We started this project in 2011 and it is almost finished, since then we have been constructed an underground root-cellar and an Eco-Dome house from earthbags, swales, and terraced gardens, rehabilitating a well and an old haybarn, clearing a forest to make a forest garden, and many other cool stuff like designing and starting to build a cordwood hobbit house, planting fruit trees and shrubs, building a terrace and a compost toilet and so on... We are very active people and we welcome volunteers who want to do some action and learn really useful permaculture knowledge.
We teach and design farms from 1 to 50 hectares or eco-buildings strategies for a family sized or even larger public buildings, therefore there is indeed much to learn about this
topics. We also give advice and some homework to future study adapted on... more inside
