We have a family ranching operation in the Beautiful East Kootenays, at the mouth of the Sand Creek which runs into Lake Koocanusa. We are 1 1/2 hours from the Alberta border situated between Cranbrook and Fernie. The views of the Rockies from all angles are spectacular.

We have approx. 450 head of cattle which we feed at home in the winter and calve out in the spring. We have a variety of jobs going on all the time. Right now we are looking for help with Fencing, machine repairs, farming, tending animals, gardening, moving irrigation.

We would like someone who would be interested in doing some handyman work around the ranch. We would offer room and board. The food will be excellent.

There is plenty of areas for hiking, fishing swimming.

*Looking for help for August 2018*

*We need help with irrigation, gardening, feeding animals and other farm chores in August

My husband and I and our 3 kids live on a farm 20 minutes outside of Cranbrook, BC. We have 2 dogs, 6 Honey Bee hives, chickens/turkeys, 4 horses, hay fields and a garden. We are looking for someone to help out with the garden, bees, irrigation, horses and dogs and other ranch chores. I am a stay at home mom and my husband works on the farm, so we would be around most of the time but just need an extra set of hands. We are very close to hiking trails and we have a small lake out our back yard. We are at the base of the Rocky Mountains which provides an amazing backdrop that we never get tired of looking at! We have a little guest cabin on the property with running water and power.

You have now stumbled upon your dream work-stay situation! Imagine waking to the sun rising on the mountains, eating exotic garden-fresh meals, and experiencing an all-natural, completely unique homestead! We are two families living on a beautiful and remote property in the Cowichan Valley.

It's spring on the island and we need help with planting, weeding, digging beds, etc in the garden. Possibly some landscaping or other chores that need a good back (chopping wood?). What are your skills? Can you build? Cook? There is a very cute but very busy 8 year old and three other boys aged 10,11 and 13, who are pretty good at entertaining themselves, but occasional extra supervision is always helpful!

We have large gardens, love cooking and eat delicious, plentiful (non-vegetarian) meals. Our accommodations are a small trailer, outdoor toilet and solar shower. We enjoy music (listening and playing), outdoor activities, good conversation and value a sense of humour, initiative, and... more inside

Welcome to a beautiful pastoral acreage and home in the West Kootenays. surrounded by the Purcell and Selkirk mountains. adjacent to Kootenay Lake. The acreage is half treed and the remaining is home front, orchard, pasture and gardens. I only have a few chickens at this point. I farmed intensely for years and am now taking it easier. I actually would like to have some sheep. just don't feel like taking on more responsibilities without some added support. Ideally I would love to connect with a gentleman who would like to live here on a year round basis for the position of assistant and caretaker. He must speak English and be prepared to consent to a criminal record check. SO- work description is gardening, fencing, light carpentry, lawns, flower beds, pruning trees, harvesting food. non-smokers, only. only light or non alcohol consumption no drugs please. I ask for a responsible, sincere, joyful and conscientious person. any relevant skills is definitely preferred. I thin... more inside

This spring, summer and fall we are building with wood milled from our land, establishing a permaculture garden and planting, maintaining and harvesting our homestead garden. We have pigs and chickens that are rotating in the new permaculture garden site, helping us with the soil.

We are a family of 4, middle-aged parents to 2 1/2 and 5 year olds and live on 30 acres in the Slocan Valley. Beautiful Slocan Lake is 7 minutes north of us and from there the pristine Slocan River flows south down the valley. We are hoping to share our independent and tranquil lifestyle with others in exchange for working together to build at our home.

The 45 sq. metre (500 sq. foot) 1st floor of our house will be your space: it has a queen size bed, desk, woodstove, couches, half bathroom and (shared) washing machine and piano. This space also has a second queen size bed, a single bed (couch convertibles), with outdoor summer kitchen and shower.

Good food is key to our lifestyle. We eat ... more inside

The property is located in Retallack, 15 minutes from the small towns of New Denver and Kaslo. 1 hr, 20min North of Nelson. The property is adjacent to Goat Range Provincial Park with many backcountry skiing, mountain biking, hiking opportunities as well as easy walks, cross country skiing and swimming in nearby lakes.

We have a beautiful farm overlooking Kootenay Lake and the Purcell Mountains in the Kootenay area of south-eastern B.C. We are a husband and wife team who raise horses, grow hay, have a small orchard with mainly apple trees and some pears, plums, cherries, and peaches. we want to grow some of our food and are starting a large vegetable garden plus some berry bushes.

There is always help needed to take care of the horses. Other typical projects involve maintaining the fences, gardening, and painting. Depending on the season we may also be harvesting fruit and preserving it. If you are interested in 'food security' you can gain experience with us.

For 2018 we are also looking for CARPENTRY SKILLS and INTERIOR HOUSE PAINTING SKILLS, need to lay new flooring, reno bathroom and some TILE WORK. We want to repurpose some windows and BUILD a GREENHOUSE to extend the growing season!

We enjoy meeting people from around the world and making new friends. English is our first lan... more inside
