We are a non profit Inn in the Pyrenées which aims to host trekkers and to participate to local social dynamic. The place proposes a bar, a restaurant and dormitories and try to be alternative. We particularly pay attention to the choice of products for the restaurant and bar and to the cultural and activist program we display.
A team of 15 people including 2 employees runs the guest house but the project is also supported by many other people belonging to the same organization and involved in others projects (tent circus, cooperative lab, etc).

We welcome any helpers interested in our project from June to September. We will be happy to host you for short time (one week min) or longer. We prefer long stay.

Missions for helpers can be very diverse: cooking, running the bar, taking care of the garden, organizing concert, fixing, picking fruits in the mountain, etc.

We are looking for an English native speaker who wants to help a little bit at home but mainly babysit, play and speak English to our children (9 1/2, 7 1/2, 4 1/2 and 2 years).

20 hours per week (schedule can be fixed according to your timetable, I'm not working). You have your own bedroom with private bathroom (and the amazing view) plus food.
You don't need to speak French, if you want to learn or/and improve, we will help!
We eat organic food, live in a nice area with a natural lake, perfect to hike, cycle,.. we have a cat, 6 lovely chicken, a giant garden.
I'm personally on a gluten free and dairy free Diet, this might be interesting for some people looking to go abroad but who have a specific diet that makes it more difficult.
We search for a big sister or brother. Someone who wants to share our life and bring a little of abroad in our home.

Our names are Mel and Tom - we bought our property in August 2007 and now live as self-sufficiently as possible using all our own produce and preserving many of our crops to use over winter. We’re a family of four - our two boys are aged 14 and 18 and speak fluent French having been here for most of their school lives. Mel is also an artist and there is a studio on site.

We grow completely organic vegetables in our large vegetable garden and polytunnel and have fig trees, a damson plum and a pear tree among others - we’re looking forward to a big crop over the summer months. We grow organic, medicinal herbs which, if you’re interested in this, we can teach you about too. There are also blackberries and elderberries to harvest that grow wild on the property - lovely for jam and jellies!

There is ongoing work in the vegetable garden with weeding, watering and harvesting. At the height of the late summer there will be a lot of processing of tomatoes and other fruit and vegetables... more inside

Bonjour,

I will be happy to host a handyman for outdoor help in the garden, light renovation, cooking or baby sitting !

I'm alone with 3 children in a beautiful country. The village is small with 100 inhabitant, and house is very isolated. It's better to have a car because there are no transport, and distance to the first shop is 10 kilometers. I have an internet conn... more inside

My husband (Keith) and I (Helen ... Aitch) have lived permanently in France since 2004. We live in an 'ex dairy farm' house and have about a hectare of land including a little woodland that runs down to the river.
The house has a history dating back to the Revolution in the late 1700's and is in the heart of rural Normandy. We are deep in the Normandy countryside and very tranquil.
Most of the land is used for our pet animals (mostly rescued), 2 donkeys, 4 sheep, 2 geese, 5 ducks and 4 chickens. We have a tortoise, 5 house dogs, 5 'garage' cats, 2 outside cats and 1 house cat.
I am vegetarian, my husband is a meat eater (and also the chef).
We teach English to foreign students during the school holidays ... ages range from 11 to 60 and they can stay with us for a couple of days or up to 6 weeks.
I am interested in art (and have a studio), ceramics, photography, animals, nature. My husband shares my interest in nature and animals and also plays badminton and football (March to ... more inside
