Hi- I have an historic 1880s house on acreage close to St Marys township, that operates as a B&B during the peak tourist season. There are two horses, ducks, chickens and the dog "Pippa" that live here permanently.

I am looking for some help restoring and maintaining the house, garden and paddocks outside the high tourist season. There is a bed sitting room with double bed, TV, couch, desk available at the rear of the house and separate bathroom facilities in the laundry.

There is a spare vehicle, either the aged 4WD ute or the also aged station wagon, available for helpers to use to explore the local area including St Patricks, South Sister, Bay of Fires, Evercreech Forest, Freycinet etc. As well, Calow's Coaches and Community Transport provide good services to both Launceston and Hobart.

St Marys itself is a small friendly town that welcomes visitors and has many cafes and interesting art and craft outlets and activities.

This is a working, multi-location organic farm that produces a wide range of vegetables over the seasons. We love helpers who are interested in learning about growing organic vegetables.

Helpers have separate accommodation, are expected to work up to 6 hours, 5 days a week. Meals are provided. The farm is close to Cygnet (walking distance), and we can make windows if you are looking for paid work.

The work is sometimes hard, but we try to make up for it with great food and trips to the beach!

We offer the opportunity for people to base themselves here on the farm and explore Southern Tasmania.

We prefer to have helpers booked in well in advance. please enquire. If you are looking for fruit picking work nearby the season starts early in the new year.
(Some times Fruit pickers just want to rent the room for $70 per person per week and go off and do fruit picking this is a possibility too.)

The accommodation we offer is a Queen size bedroom with its own TV - in the farm cottage which is close to the house. This cottage has a full bathroom and kitchen available for your use, which is shared by all in the house.

There is also in the 2 single bedrooms and a bunk room.

There is a laundry and another toilet available.

BBQ and Garden area.

We are looking for people who want to work around the farm - get jobs done - then go out and explore Tasmania.

If you are looking for hosts who can sit and talk for hours over a meal - I am sorry we can't offer that... more inside

I have hosted about 300 couchsurfers over the last two years but going to transfer my interest to helpx to get a few things sorted.

***no helpers needed at present*** Thank you.

We are a happy and relaxed family with 2 young children who operate a small mixed sheep and cropping farm 30 mins drive from Hobart in the lovely Coal River Valley, just 5 minutes from historic Richmond. We also operate short term farmstay accommodation for tourists - with many guests coming from overseas.

We have several animals- pony, alpacas, sheep, duck, geese, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs etc. Plus, assorted crops - grapes, olives, fruit trees, raspberries and we also grow lucerne hay to sell to the domestic animal feed market.

We are currently looking for 1-2 strong people to assist with building 2 new 'shed' houses for our tourists. The work will be over a 2-3 week period, preferably from early February until about February 20.

Accommodation is in a recently refurbished caravan, with a newly built bathroom located in the nearby shed. The caravan has cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, a cooktop, kettle, toaster,... more inside

Hello, we are a family of 3 who have 6 acres to play with. I am Thierry (french), my wife is Vanessa (australian), our daughter Cleo (half half of course) and the cat Lexi. We joined Helpx because we need some help around the land and we love to have people stay at home and share a bit of each others lives. There is plenty to do here, looking after the land, starting or finishing new projects and playing around making or doing whatever passes through your head, you won't get bored.
We are living 20mins from Hobart on a beautiful little peninsula surrounded by beautiful beaches (good surfing ones) and lots of walking or riding tracks. You'll be welcome to borrow bikes, surfboard, kayaks and fishing gear if you like.
We'll be sharing the cooking (we are vegetarian ) and for the work, we ask for 4 h per day and per person but are happy to let you organise your week as you want.
You'll have your own room or a confortable tent (up to you)
We have no preference for men or woman but y... more inside
