Help required by a retired artist/writer and poet, with a young outlook and attitude who likes to paint, write, draw and read. Due to suffering from M.E. for many years, my strength and endurance are limited.
I do have a helper who does a few hours every week, but some jobs get left to pile up, like all my wardrobes, drawers need sorting out and organising as I must admit, I am not an organised person myself. In addition, my many books need sorting out and I would love a list of what I actually have! Also, I am finding it difficult at the moment to cook nourishing meals for myself, ( I eat very little meat) and my helper often doesn't have the time to do these.
I am extremely easy-going, quiet, with a good sense of humour. I rise early, go to bed at lunchtime for 2-3 hours for a much needed sleep, then up and around until between 6-7pm depending on how my health is on the day. There I watch television for a couple of hours and then read. I have a spare bedroom, with a single bed, w... more inside

We are a friendly, relaxed family of four in a quiet village in the heart of Devon. We are looking for a German speaker to teach our children this Summer intensively for a week or 10 days. We can help you with your English and are looking for people who don't mind living in a rural location and getting a bit muddy...We can offer you a nice room in our house, vegetarian meals and maybe the odd trip to the pub! Italian and French spoken. We are looking for someone from the 21st August until the end of August this year. Many thanks for reading.
Many thanks

Another pair of hands needed in a large London detached home and garden. I'm always needing help with simple DIY and basic maintenance: Painting and decorating, gardening - mowing lawn, trimming hedges and creepers, weeding, jet washing patios, fixing fences etc.
Basic carpentry skills would be a bonus - fixing drawers, doors and putting up shelves etc. Bricklaying skills would be amazing as a brick built pizza oven and BBQ is a project that could be undertaken if someone has that skill!

In exchange for free accommodation in a fine period property in one of London's safest and most beautiful boroughs - right next to Richmond Deer Park. Lovely double bedroom with TV and internet and en-suite bathroom + healthy and delicious vegetarian meals in a very friendly and easy going household.

We are very happy to host families with children as our children are very sociable and love to play with others. We have space for a family with up to three children (possibly more). We are considering homeschooling our children when they reach school age and would welcome home/un/world-schooling families that we can learn about this from and who could spend time helping the children learn through their interests.

We would love to learn Spanish so would welcome Spanish speakers who would be comfortable teaching the children a little Spanish through play and singing.

We are former helpXers ourselves and live in a four-bedroomed house with a largeish garden in a countryside village in Essex, 30 minutes by train from central London. We are now a family of four (Andrew and Kerri - both in our thirties, Tom and Edward - both 4). Kerri is a (sometime) primary and TEFL teacher and Andrew works in London. We'd like to offer a warm welcome to people who would like to live as part of ... more inside

Hello, we are based on the stunning North Cornwall coast on the edge of St.Agnes. We run a market garden as organically as possible and based around the principles of permaculture. We supply seasonal produce to the local village as well as gate sales.

Help is needed with day to day gardening jobs such as planting, weeding, pruning and picking. There are also lots of maintenance jobs like strimming, cutting grass, moving wood etc...

Accommodation is in a caravan situated in a lovely spot overlooking the lake. In return for working 8.30am - 1pm 5 days a week, we will feed you three meals a day. Breakfast is provided for you to make for yourself in the caravan, and we all eat lunch and an evening meal together. Food is vegetarian with some occasional seasonal fish. We also take it in turns to wash up after the evening meal. Sorry but alcohol is not provided, we cannot afford to keep you supplied with beer! WiFi is available at the log cabin.

We have bicycles you can borrow, ... more inside

Beautiful old cottage and gardens in the Tamar Valley, Cornwall, an area of outstanding natural beauty - between Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, one mile (on foot) to the River Tamar, half an hour to the south coast and one hour to the north coast (by car).
Sue (Mum) and Grace (daughter) live here, Marcus and various friends and family visit and join in. We are in the early stages of a new plan for our land. Sue has been here for 32 years, raised a family, grown food, flowers and herbs, worked as a healing therapist and run courses and ceremony.
Much of the land is sloping, with limited sunlight hours but we now have a new, south-facing flat piece of land! Our aim is to develop a new community project to grow more food, keep more chickens, plant a new orchard and develop the healing and community side with an emphasis on reconnecting with nature for health.
What’s needed is enthusiasm and flexibility for a wide variety of tasks – and more strength and physical energy than we have! Ho... more inside
