We are a friendly couple with a 1 year old and a small (very friendly cavoodle) dog. We have had a lot of International Homestay students and have loved having other cultures in our home. We love travelling & have been on a lot of overseas holidays. We are hoping to find someone (or a couple) to come and live with us that would love to explore Tasmania in exchange for helping us with painting or landscaping. We are also looking for someone with uphostery skills. We are an easy going family but have a young child and we need someone who is respectful, honest and thoughtful. Our home is large and our guests will have their own space and privacy. It is close to a shopping centre and a bus stop is directly across the road. The city and Salamanca are a 10 minute drive away. We would love someone who would like to be part of our family while living with us. Tasmania is a stunning place to live. It has amazing natural beauty. If you are interested let us know. We look forward to hearing fr... more inside

Come and enjoy the wonderful spring weather on the East Coast of Tasmania.

The property is a commercial cattle, sheep and cropping farm run by two generations of family. The 1840s homestead is occupied by my sister Elizabeth who has two boys (9 and 6 years old).

The farm is located approximately 1 hour from Hobart on the East Coast of Tasmania, only 15 minutes from the seaside town of Orford. There is a daily bus service that runs up the East Coast from Hobart in the mornings and evenings and we are happy to collect suitable helpers from Hobart. Elizabeth would prefer female helpers.

The work would involve tasks around the homestead helping Elizabeth- gardening, mowing, cleaning, babysitting or farm duties depending on the preference and skills of the helpers.

You will be staying in the homestead itself occupying one of the spare bedrooms and living with the family.

The farm stay is suitable for both short and long term stays.

A neighbouring property also curren... more inside

We live in Taroona, a sea-side suburb 10km south of Hobart and close to a major bus-route. A couple of minutes walk from the house takes you to a string of lovely beaches and some fantastic views.

In our family we have Simon and Chris (dad and mum) and 2 teenage boys.

You can be part of the family and also have your own space. You will be very comfortable int the studio at the end of the garden. From your deck you'll have a great view of the veggie garden, fruit trees and chickens. And inside you'll have a double sofa bed, another sofa, dining table, fridge, microwave and TV and wifi. Come inside our house for a spa bath and to join in with meals.

We need some help with practical jobs, like fixing up guttering and decking, painting and re-building the chicken coop. We think that we could provide meals and accommodation in exchange for 4 or 5 hours a day of work. We won't always be around as we both work so we need someone with the skills and motivation to independently get... more inside

At our farm, we produce an exciting range of hand crafted, small batch soft drinks and award winning gourmet condiments. Our picturesque family farm and olive and elder groves are in the Derwent Valley only 35 to 40 minutes from Hobart.

We are mad about the farm, and what we do here in Tasmania and would love to share this beautiful place with as many people as we can! We are on the beautiful Derwent River, so as we move into summer you will even be able to enjoy swimming or lying on the banks or wandering the 300ha of bush.

Myself (Anne) and my husband (Robert) live on the farm and run the farm and business together. We are keen to meet new people and share our knowledge on farming, gardening and business as well as ideas and tips on travel within Tasmania.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals, groups or couples who are open to new challenges. Those who have experience farming and gardening would be a bonus but it is not a necessity.

We are offering 4/5 hours ... more inside

I live on a beautiful sunny bush property set over 18 hectares only 15 mins drive from Hobart city centre with a rivulet at the base of the property. There are 2 houses on the property, I live in the smaller with my 2 1/2 year old daughter. I'm a nurse working shifts over the weekend and need help with childcare only over this time. The rest of the week is yours to explore Tassie. We're very well travelled, living part of the year in Uganda and Norway. My daughter is part Aussie mixed with Ugandan and Yemenis. I can offer accommodation in a separate cabin some 20 metres from the house. The bathroom and kitchen are in main house. Full food supplies provided on work days and some extras now and then. There is a car available for you use whilst working and for your personal use on your free days, some contribution to the car insurance will be required if using for personal use. I would prefer a female or couple over 25 years old who are comfortable with young children with driver... more inside
