Hi we are a couple living on 73acres in Maranup near Bridgetown. We offer accommodation and meals in return for gardening, cleaning and whatever is happening at the time/general maintenance around the block. Our accommodation is either inside the house. We are 22kms from Bridgetown and 9.5 Kms from Greenbushes so it is best if you have a car but not essential. 1 room available in a good size 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house, good living areas.

Great location, close proximity to Scarborough Beach (approx 2 kms), bus transport services, food outlets, restaurants, cafes etc. 10-12 minutes by road from City, subject to traffic.

Regarding cultural exchange, I'm from East Kimberley and specialise in, and teach, Aboriginal history and culture in Western Australia. I will provide information to guests on this very interesting area. I can also provide contacts for things to do in Perth and other parts of Western Australia.

At times require assistance with two children, girl aged 14, boy aged 9. In shared parenting arrangement with mother, means I have my son 4 nights a fortnight. My daughter lives with me full-time.

Some general house care assistance would also be great.

Our home was constructed in 1865 and now has extensive gardens, runs cattle and sheep and is 15 minutes from Bridgetown. The gardens have many very old English trees (oaks, elms) and in winter there is a series of ponds and waterfalls. We have a small vineyard and make wine each year for family and friends. In the mornings many small birds can be seen in the garden. On our lake we normally have geese, ducks and black swans. Around the homestead there are often lots of kangaroos and emus

We have a separate small 100 sq metre new apartment that is often vacant. It is furnished with all facilities and located about 100 metres from the main homestead. You would stay in the apartment.

We would like to have either singles or a couple for short (2-3 weeks) or long term 3-6 months) stays.

You would be expected to work 15 hrs per week in the gardens, around the house and with animals (feeding etc) in exchange for accommodation. No food.

WIfi is available and you would need... more inside
