On offer here is very primitive accommodation and washing facilities, early starts (wake up with a smile at 6 am most days!)and hard physical work, but a relatively flexible and relaxed work rhythm, basic food (but plenty of it), a great project, a fairminded host and the sweet sound of the Irish language!

PLEASE read all the information provided before deciding whether to write!

I check emails ONCE A WEEK, usually Fridays. If you need a quicker reply, do not waste your time (or mine!) by writing to me. I almost always accept every person who writes to me. So please don't write unless you are sure that you want to come here. About one tenth of the people who arrive here decide that they don't like it and leave sooner than planned. That is never a problem for me.

Availability: Most of the year. Looking for June and July in particular. I will be away between 15 July and 15 August, but would welcome a helper or two willing to look after the place while I am away. If you are in... more inside

I am looking for a helper starting from end of June in my art studio. You should speak a good level in English as you attend the studio while I give guided walks through Ennis. Interest in art, maybe drawing and painting yourself would be great, as you can help me with some art projects. Here especially a helping me to organize a bigger event in the studio. And in general maintaining the place. You can use all the facilities in the studio. As i lived long in Germany i am fluent German as well. There will be enough time for you to explore the townlife with all the pubs and music and craic, but the beautiful nature of the midwest of Ireland as well. As i worked a lot with tourists i can share a lot knowledge about the scenery (Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, ...) The culture and history of Ireland.

Someone who loves to cook, clean and declutter very welcome to help me keep order in a large modern house with myself, working mostly full time and sometimes away and 3 teens in secondary school, (17,16 & 13) plus 2 cats and 2 dogs, one of them young and still in training - and/or someone who likes to garden to help keep a large wildish garden in shape, no veg but flowers, fruit trees and bushes, lawns, japanese knotweed that needs regular picking out, taming wild bits, woodland. What I more often need is someone who can housesit while I am away, feed the pets and do some house jobs, for a few days or a week or two at a time. Upcoming dates that I need house sitting for are June 25th to July 16th. We live in a small village beside a lake, irish music in pubs locally, we have a lovely informal small community orchestra if you play music at any level - instruments in the house, cello, guitar mainly ukulele keyboard. We are warm, welcoming, lively, easy going, try to eat healthily. ... more inside
