we are a retired English couple and have lived in Galicia for nearly 6 years. our energies have gone into converting a barn into a home for us, there is also an old farmhouse.
we have an acre and 2 celtic sheep, 2 lambs, 5 ducks , 2 dogs and just about to collect 2 new kittens.
All our efforts now, are to finish the outside of the barn and create a garden and paddocks for the sheep.Build a small sheep shed.
Come and help us for 3 1/2 days a week work in exchange for good food and company. we eat meat but I also cook very creative vegetarian food.

These will be eartbag buildings or/and strawbale. We will have a go with building a yurt as well. We need help with all these plans and also with building compost toilets, showers and a vegetable garden. Experience is not necessary. Since moving to Spain 5 years ago; I took on the plight of animals that had no home or had been abused and neglected. Currently I have 8 dogs, 5 cats and 4 horses. It was never my intention to take on so many animals, however, I could not help myself. Although very active all my life, now in my retirement, I find myself overwhelmed with the amount of commitment, dedication and general care somewhat exhausting, I could do with some help for a short while.

The majority of help required is for 2 horses which need looking after and exercising and we will also need help with general maintenance of the land consisting of weeding and digging of vegetable beds, setting up garden paths, walls etc.

Accommodation will be in private casita (self-contained small house) with its own small private courtyard and all amenities.

Must be an animal lover, independent and with initiative. Thank you.

Hello, hello, our Dear Future Helpers!. The following is a thorough description about us which we hope it will help you to take the best decision. Please, read it carefully (despite its lenght, hahaha) and hmmmm... thank you for having your news ;)))

We're a married couple, not old, not young :)), I mean, 72 and 66 years old -my husband is the oldest. I'm the youngest ;)-. We're living in an amazing Spanish site, in Las Alpujarras de Granada (Andalusia).
My husband and I are living most of the year in a woooonderful semi-isolated place, in the middle of the mountain, but not an ordinary mountain... nooo. It's a very special mountain. To the South, it faces the Mediterranean sea; to the North, a higher mountain (South of Sierra Nevada); several little white villages... some valleys... what else can I say?. Oh, yes... 15 minutes walk from a famous buddhist center (O'Sel Lin) and close to the National Park of Sierra Nevada. It's a marvellous mountain and our house is there, 1,540 ... more inside

A man with construction/gardening/carpentry experience would be great to use a chainsaw, cut the grass, dig up rocks, and stack wood.
We also need someone to proofread, illustrate and edit the books we're writing, and help publish them. We could take you May-June.
Galicia is green, beautiful and peaceful - like England 50 years ago. The house is a 17th century stone cottage with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. We've already had help creating a medieval Great Hall - borders, frescoes etc - creative, artistic work, but it needs more.

The field has not been used for years, but it's now been cleared and helpers have put up a polytunnel for us and made some vegetable beds. These need constant attention all year round - planting, weeding, watering etc. The rest of the finca is a small park - more trees, paths, orchard. There is some heavy work (tree pruning, brickwork, plasterboarding), so men are preferred.
On the edge of a village, we are 4 minutes walk from bars and shops and ... more inside
