Wonderful country location. Previously a vinyard now offers holiday accomodation in summer. 5km from nearest shops. Beautiful old Manor house but no central heating. Need help for Jan feb when I have to work in the vines. i have two horses which will need feeding watering and keeping an eye on. One is a young ex racehorse which is sensitive and needs quiet handling. He can be ridden by an experienced rider only and I have a basic schooling area i.e. a fenced area in a field. The other horse is twenty and can be ridden as well.

Hello everyone

We just bought a beautiful old farmhouse in the south West of france and it hasn't been lived in for 80 years so there is tons of work!! We've taken on the renovation ourselves so that's what we spend most of our time on. There's also 5ha of forest which requires a lot of work, and a couple of Ha of cultivable land. So any skills are valuable and welcome! The area is quite beautiful, calm and the people are good.

This summer we stayed in our caravan in the garden but moving into a little village house during winter, cause it too cold!

Give us a buz / email and we'll see what we can sort out! Cheers take care

We are a British family living in a beautiful medieval village in South West France. Next to the Aveyron river and gorges there is loads to see and do. We have 2 children and a big soft dog.

We are looking for helpers to help finish off the renovations to our house, work in our organic garden and bamboo field.

Ideally we are looking for skilled workers - plasterers, carpenters, bricklayers. painters, plumbers as well as anyone willing to learn new skills.

Accommodation is in a self contained studio apartment with kitchenette and shower - either a double or 2 single beds. We will provide seasonal food (stews in winter and fresh salads etc. in summer) in exchange for 5 hours work a day.

This is a truly magical spot with loads of hiking, biking canoeing and rock-climbing as well as chateaus, our local Sunday farmer's market and vineyards close by.

Available dates are 3rd September - 14th,
Then any time after the 8th of October

The owner of this house is sick and unable to repair the roof. I am looking for nice people around me, Jaap Andela, to help me repair the roof. The work consists of taking off the tiles, then placing a corrugated roof specially for French tiles and then lay back the original tiles. In the house are 6 beds, a toilet and shower. Near Bouillac/Aveyron are plenty of opportunities to enjoy yourself: in the river Lot, one can swim and canoe, cycling is not difficult. Around Bouillac are old towns like Figeac, Cahors, Albi, Rocamadour, Conques (very old) and St. Cirq Lapopie.
Work in consultation, but I think 4 to 5 hours a day for 3 to 4 weeks. With sufficient interest to start 1 till 29 October 2011.
Room and board and of course fine wines, but not during work on the roof! We can talk in French, English, German and Dutch / Frisian.

We have a set of farm buildings and a farmhouse in a truly beautiful area between the Dordogne and the Lot (Near St Cere). We (English couple, semi-retired but not vegetative) are refurbishing the house so that we can live there without freezing in the winter and so that we can use the buildings for alternative technology courses. There is plenty of land to recover from the weeds and lots of trees to be removed. Building skills of any type or a willingness to labour are welcome - the accommodation is comfortable and we or you can cook. You can have a room to yourself in the house - we have most of the creature comforts except easy internet access (at the moment). The nearest town is about 20 minutes away by car and the area is filled with tourist sights and gorgeous countryside. Good for cavers and non frenetic climbers as well. Work some hours per day to suit both parties. References needed and supplied if required. Come and join us.
