We are looking for help to refurbish our timber framed house to reduce its environmental impact. Fantastic, unique peaceful location but just 6 miles from the very centre of London. Anyone with carpentry, plumbing or gardening skills would be most welcome.

Accommodation is in the main house, own bedroom (pictured) with king sized futon and balcony. All meals can be provided, so long as you don't mind vegetarian cuisine. We also make excellent coffee. There are also plenty of shops and cafes within very easy walking distance.

At this stage we're looking for short term helpers rather than long term help, so a 2-4 night stay. 4 hours help per day would be appreciated, but this can certainly be negotiated - you definitely need time to explore the local area, and it's a ten minute train journey into the centre if you want to go sightseeing.

We welcome you warmly to Plants for a Future - a resource and information centre for edible, medicinal and otherwise useful plants.

Set in a beautiful part of Cornwall near Lerryn, the 25 acre site is just a 5 minute walk away from a lovely creek where you can swim and enjoy the wildlife.

Hello helpxers..... : ) We are looking for some help with a building project from around the 20th August. Any takers?

After helpxing ourselves for a year we came back to Cornwall and bought 3 acres of riverside swampiness just outside Truro. Since we got here we have been creating veg patches and repairing the old barn that was here so we have somewhere dry to sit! We have also begun a new oak framed barn as a long term project (maybe to be a house some day...)

The land and what we need help with...
On the land there are also fruit trees, ancient Cornish hedges, broadleaf woodland and wildy willow wetland areas. We would love help in any of the following areas . . . . .. veg garden (we grow organically and are guided by permaculture principles), weeding (always!) creating pathways through the woods and on the little islands by the river, making lovely little seating areas in the woods, repairing our 'tea room' which is a gorgeous back end of some old truck that needs T... more inside

We run a fruit and vegetable community involvement growing project, using naturally sustainable biodynamic growing methods that support a healthy environment. We are called 'BOACA', Bradford on Avon Community Agriculture, BOACA.co.uk. We haven't had helpx for over a year but have enjoyed the mutual sharing in the past. Please check out our website for more information and make contact with us if you have the energy and any skills to help us with this project. We will teach you about growing and running a co operative as well as with your language skills if you need our help. Ideally we would like two people for the full 6 months growing season but would consider shorter and longer stays. We would also consider having a family to stay.

We offer a comfortable home and ask you to contribute 20 hours a week to our project. We have great cooking facilities but ask you to cater for yourselves making use of the harvest of the land as you wish. We will provide breakfast and wil... more inside
