We are a family of 5, the kid are age 8, 5, and 1 month. E are mainly home educating and so looking for help around the house and with the kids. We are both into music and teach drumming and singing. Chagford where we live is a lovely little town on the edge of Dartmoor, which is one of the most wild and beautiful places in England. Space available for the first week in January.

I've just taken a break from work and have one month to try and renovate an old Summer house on my parents' property. At the moment it's not in great shape - need help sorting the water supply, fixing the walls, doing the garden (renovating the old swimming pool too), installing the solar panels and potentially putting in some insulation too. Probably the first job will be sorting out a compost toilet!

Accommodation will be in a nearby house (my parents) until we can get the Summer house to a good condition to be lived in.

It's up on a hill with great views to Scarborough castle, ideal for anyone who wants some time and space to themselves, great walks nearby.

Looking for someone with some building experience ideally but anyone can apply - 5 hours a day, 5 days a week in return for food and shelter - the usual deal!

My husband and myself live a very beautiful Victorian seven bedroomed house on the coast in Southport, Merseyside. We've lived here for 30 years and the house requires ongoing repairs.

In return for 4 hours a day help with general maintenance, decorating, cleaning and gardening we'd be happy to provide food and accommodation for 4 - 6 weeks to one or two people who muck in and help.

If you have some general building and joinery skills, those would be of great help. Other than that energy, a zest for life and a positive outlook are required.

Blenkinsopp Hall is a big old traditional family home, situated in the middle of rural Northumberland close to Hadrian's Wall.

We are Patrick & Fiona, in our 50's with two labradors, one terrier and a few chickens in the garden. We have two grown-up sons who work and live away from home.

We are looking for two friends or a couple to help organise a large house and grounds. We do not have any stock of our own as most of the farmland is let. but there is always fencing and other jobs to be done on it. There are plenty of jobs both inside and outside the house, especially as our regular home help is off work for some months following a major operation. The work ranges from normal house work e.g.cleaning and ironing to outdoor estate maintenance work such as preparing firewood, gardening, painting etc...

You will have your own bedroom and bathroom and in exchange we'd expect you to work the equivalent of 4 or 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, so 20 - 25 hours per week, but ... more inside

We have recently bought a Cottage in the lovely Surrey Hills, in a sweet village with a village shop and nice pub. There is a big network of footpaths and cycle routes in the area. It is quite a rural area but is only 50 minutes on the train to London and the local town is about 5 miles away.
We are currently in the process of sprucing up the garden and redecorating the house and would love some help with gardening and painting/decorating as well as possibly some animal chores (cats/chickens/rabbits) and wood chopping!
We have an ensuite double room suitable for either a single person or a couple.

I am looking for a housekeeper & mothers help/au pair on a short-term basis, to help out a little each day whilst i am on my own with the baby. I live with my partner and 4 month old daughter,20 minutes walk from the centre of town. Peterborough is a small city, but culturally diverse. 40mins-1hr journey to London, and close to cities Norwich and Cambridge, Nottingham and Leicester. I can take you to some interesting places, such as an urban community greenspace project nearby and there is a yoga studio just round the corner. You will have plenty of time to yourself, but must like babies and not mind a bit of housework. There is usually some gardening to do, and i would welcome someone with DIY & decorating skills. Some help with cooking and wood chopping would be welcome, and you can join us for meals and fires- indoors or outdoors! You must also not mind my company as we will be together quite a bit! We require approximately 3-4 hours help 5-6 days a week, allowing for some flexib... more inside

We grow as much of the cattle feed as possible. We also have an anaerobic digester 180KWh
Our outputs are cheese and electricity. We are not organic but have recieved many awards for education and sustainable farming/green energy/environmental issues.
We have hosted several people through other schemes, vetinary students, cheesemakers, people interested in anaerobic digestion.
Helpers could be involved with calf rearing, cheesemaking or working to restore our walled garden, according to skills and interests

DECEMBER UPDATE: Its warm here, the hot water from the anaerobic digestion heats the house!

We are close to the North sea ( 3 miles). The neighbouring comunity of Wells next the Sea has shops, cinema, theatre, bars. Sailing and canoeing available on the harbour. From the village there are several busses daily to Kings lynn and Norwich and along the coast wher... more inside

I live in a good sized bungalow with my dog near the centre of a medium sized village in the centre of Lincolnshire, but also close to the countryside. My daughter and two young granddaughters also live in the village.

The work to be done would be house hold duties such as cleaning, washing and ironing plus sometimes preparing/cooking meals as well as some gardening. Some days walking my granddaughters to primary school and also collecting them. Also taking Digby, a golden retriever,
for a walk from time to time.

Weekends are likely to be free. Unlimited wi-fi.
