We have moved into a house which we were planning to open,at the beginning of last June, as a vegan/vegetarian Chambres d'hotes (B & B)but haven't managed to get ready in time, so are still looking for help possibly till the end of June. including painting, digging out a potager (vegetable garden)general gardening, cleaning etc etc. Any help would be appreciated, say 4 hours a day in return for bed and board, vegetarian/vegan, obviously.
If you are flying in we can pick you up from Limoges or Poitiers airport or by train, Roumazieres is our nearest, but can pick up from Angouleme.

Helpers have their own room with double bed and adjacent shower room. Wifi available. A communal evening meal with wine is included or you can cook separately if you prefer. Breakfast and lunch provided by hosts on a help yourself basis. In return, we ask for 20 - 25 hours' help each week, flexible on how these hours are spread out.

Hello HelpXers, welcome to our home in Poitou Charente, W.France. We are located just outside a small village with a good community. We are in a beautiful rural area. The river runs through our grounds so it's good here for fishing too.

We have to be away from 21 April till mid May so hope to find (ideally) a couple, or two friends, to look after our house and animals (dog and cat) when we are away. We have a golden retriever and one very timid cats. Help in the garden would also be very welcome.

You will need to be self-catering but we can offer a self-contained 2 bedroom apartment in return for help with house and garden if anyone wants to come longer-term. We are both English and we look forward to hearing from you.

We have a retreat centre which is used for yoga courses, self-development workshops, shamanic trainings etc.
We are currently inviting helpers for this April to assist on two workshops: 'Drum Birthing' and 'Welcoming our Daughters on the threshold of womanhood' (female only for the latter workshop). Tasks would include getting meals out, washing up, cleaning, food preparation, tidying up the grounds. You would work alongside the two of us to create a beautiful experience for people attending the course.

At other times of the year we need help keeping it nice for visitors: weeding the flower beds, straightening the sunbeds, hanging out washing, but someone flexible that could also turn their hand to painting furniture, or indeed help move it, popping into town to pick up lunch or some lightbulbs, or chat to a bored 10 yr old girl.

I am a former communications manager for the Green Party, a writer and shamanic practitioner in training. My husband is workshop facilitator, tea... more inside

I've just moved into a roomy period townhouse (175 sq.m) in a picturesque small town about 70 kms from Bordeaux. The house itself was renovated 2 years ago to a good standard and the garden has been landscaped (approx 630 sq.m). I would like some help, say, 3 hours a day (flexible) one week or two in May with the garden and a painting job in one of the bedrooms + wall-papering a couple of walls. Also minor carpentry jobs around the house. You would have plenty of time off to explore the region. I can offer a double bedroom, three meals a day and plenty of time off. The town has cafes, shops, supermarket and other facilities, but I haven't yet checked bus services. If you have your own transport would be good but not essential. The area is good for cycling. I'm English and speak good French. I think you'll enjoy being here. Sorry, for the moment I don't have photos. I hope that won't put you off.

We, Pete and Brigitte, moved into our house, in very peaceful South West French countryside, August 2016. The house was finished but the garden was a blank canvas. We are operating as a BnB and have had several guests already. We have 2 horses and sometimes up to 2 liveries. We have 2 very friendly dogs.
What we need : Somebody/ies that will join in. There is weeding and mowing that needs to be done. Stone wall building and wooden raised beds to be made and planted.
Our horses are competition horses, we need somebody that is very competent when handling and riding the horses. We also need somebody that is willing to poo pick, jump on the muckheap and sweep. No Novices.
Some building maintenance help needed – gutters need their joints gluing and the wooden shutters need rubbing down and repainting.
We will definitely not ask anybody to do anything that we would not do ourselves.
The accommodation : A large room with double bed, ensuite bath room with large show... more inside

We need help during the spring and summer with garden work and a bit of renovating. We'd like you to stay with us for 1 or 2 weeks and we'll provide meals in return for 4 or 5 hours work a day.

We'll need help with getting wood cut for the winter months, walking the dog, some gardening and grass cutting (don't worry, it's not a jungle!), maybe some cooking but helping Phil with some work on the renovations would be wonderful. We have to face the house with stone and may need some help with mixing the lime/sand mortar and carrying stuff.

We also grow veggies and hope to plant flowers and hedging. We have hens, a lovely lurcher and an old cat. Accommodation will be in a comfortable small caravan on site but meals, hot showers etc will all be taken in the house. We are quite adaptable so can caters for vegetarians and you won't be totally cut off from the world as we have bikes, telephone and wifi. The property is quite rural in a gorgeous part of France with lots of walks and l... more inside
