Hi Helpxers!! we are an English couple living in soutwest france, our season has now come to an end and so this is the best time to help as its you the land and the pool!!! So we are in need of a couple who can paint, mow grass on a ride on, feed a horse and peacock and make maintenance repairs around the place after the season. We need someone between now and October and you will just have the odd guest popping by, all the gites have been cleaned and inventories prepared so the gites just need a dust through occasionally for now. Its the painting and decorating that is our first and foremost request of outdoor furniture, windows, shutters, benches etc. We look for about 28 hours a week so basically four days on and three days off and you get a fully furnished cottage with use of the pool and tennis court at your leisure plus €50 per couple towards your food. Its kind of like a working holiday here, its not all work and no play we say a couple just because its more fun for yo... more inside

We came from London to this wonderful region rich in many ways!
There is abundance of space, green fields and hidden gems. Many people have more than one project....creating their own adventure.
We provide a place for visitors to pay and stay helping them find the secrets of the region.

So stay here and help and we can show your our appreciation of wine growing by taking you or directing you to interesting vineyards. You may well pick up tips on how to cook French cuisine.
And you may develop a taste for learning French cuisine. We will be happy to show you.....and, at the same time provide an excellent balanced diet whilst you stay.
W
Perhaps you may want to learn about the hospitality business....we know something about that!
So we are hoping to find an English speaking man who wants to spend a few weeks here working in the garden and possibly help creating some great new areas.
Someone interested in old buildings and gardens.
We would ask you to work about 4 hrs daily... more inside

in July 2017, Noel will move for the summer in Rochefort sur mer Helpers can come to Rochefort
for this time. There will be work too ;-)
[See house locations via my website link above.

update in may 2017 :

We have moved to the Arcachon bay in a small village called Ares.
It remains full of small jobs to do on the house (painting, laying blinds, stripping the old paintings, cleaning the floors, make concrete, make a outdoor seating etc ...)
The house has a guest room which is shared in time with friends, family. Therefore the dates of stay must be foreseen in advance.
From time to time it may be possible to stay still on Mérignac. during 2017 it is necessary to do small work in the apartment to return it to the owners. So regular trips between Bordeaux and Ares are to be expected.

Notice to allergic persons
We have 5 cats and a dog

No drug

I am 60 years old and I decided some years ago to move from the city (Bordeaux) to the pine forest on the way to the ocean....
i'm renovating an old farm using as possible an ecologic way of doing (lime with hemp for the walls), i'm doing the more i can by myself and my son (27 years) help me when he is not working on his boat, and my daughter (25) when she is not around the world (now she is in Canada).
i began to do a vegetable garden with permaculture, i had a good result last year and it is better abd better!
Now, i need an help because i have to save the old beautifull barn that is just in front of the house. The first thing to do is to take off the old tiles and redone some carpentry pieces. With a friend of mine that is a builder we decided to do some happy working days in the 7/8/9 of July, we need some arms and legs...with the heads would be fine !!!!!
Join us for the BIG SAVING HAPPY DAYS!!!!!
and please sorry i try to speak english but i'm just french !! ;)

We are a family of 5 who live in a big old barn converted to be half living space, half storage/horseboarding.

We also have taken over recently a 7 hectares wine farming business and are running 2 bed& breakfast accomodation rooms.

We are looking for people who don't fear horses, like children (ours are 7 to 12 years old) and are willing to share our everyday life: help can be needed on our wine farm, with the 8 horses, the vegetable garden and orchard, the bed&breakfast. Also, we are happy when the accomodated person helps with everyday tasks such as cleaning, looking after the children, cooking...

We are in need of help mostly from September to July, with less busy periods from November to February.

Hello Helpers,

We are many families and single people living together, from 1month old to 80 years old, in the small village of Sus (south-west of France), near the medieval town of Navarrenx which is on the Saint James way.
We have been living there for the last 30 years, having people joining us all along. Sharing everything in common, our home is open to anyone.
We all live in a big castle ; families have their own apartment, single men live together, so do single women in their appartment. You will stay according to your own situation, either as a family or as an individual. We home-school our children (around 30).

We are doing many different activities you will be able to take part of depending on the needs.
Here is the list of the main things we do : organic bakery, pastry, organic gardening with donkeys or tractor, including harvesting, woodwork, going to several local markets, etc. We also take good care of our chickens, sheep, goats and cows, not counting the work... more inside

We are an elder couple living in France since 2000. We stayed 13 years in Africa, Mali. My husband is German, myself, Inge, I am French-German.
It is now 2 years, we bought a small farm in the Parc Naturel Regional Perigord-Limousin. Last year we moved. The property is situated at the border of a small hamlet, the little road ends and forests start. We are no farmers. My husband is musician and architect, I am a retired technical adviser in Education. Nevertheless we try to transform a garden from jungle to a place where bio vegetables grow, we have 3 chickens (to eat their eggs) and about 15 sheep (to use their wool). Two big dogs Maxie and Snow (Pyrenees mountain dogs) need a walk of half an hour every morning. You have to be strong, sometimes, to hold them. The advantage of walking with the dogs is, that you go through wonderful local countryside and tranquil forest.

We renovate our little new home. There is need to help. My husband works together with artisans but he does ... more inside

HARVEST 2017

Unfortunately our accomodation for helpers was in an old caravan that has fallen apart. So we do not have any availability for harvest for this year. We will be looking for volunteers for the spring at the beginning of next year if we can build some new accomodation.

----------

We are an organic and biodynamic vineyard and farm in a beautiful part of south west France. We are open to volunteers looking for a shorter experience of say a week.

The tasks are interesting and I will always try be involved with you to explain, and of course you can ask me lots of questions about wine and organic winegrowing. Some days we will be busy more than normal but you'll be compensated with extra time off when it allows.

When there's no vineyard or winery work, there may be some things we can do in the vegetable garden or maintenance things like painting, or weeding.

We do lunch and dinner together the days we work. We provide you with cereals, coffee/tea, bread and ja... more inside
