Greytown was awarded NZ most Beautiful Small town 2017. Our town is in the Wairarapa region - about 1.15 hours drive from Wellington

We are a couple in our late 40's that left the rat race in Auckland 8 years ago and decided to move to the country and change our lifestyle. We both have corporate jobs which involves traveling around the country.

Our property is a 3 acre lifestyle block located on Udy Street which is one of the prettiest streets in Greytown and a very popular walking route. There's a walking track at the end of our street that takes you through farmland and down to the river which is a great way to see some of the countryside. We have bikes available for you to use.

On our property we have 70 olive trees, 50 Fruit trees, a vegetable garden, a green house, lawns and flower beds

We have the following animals: 3 dogs, 2 cats, Sheep, 3 Alpacas, 2 Kunekune pigs, Chickens & Peking Ducks

We also have a cottage on the property which is rented out via airbnb

Hi there helpers,

We have a big family home that needs a bit of TLC in Pinehaven, Upper Hutt.

Pinehaven is a lovely, quiet suburb, set in the bush, 30 minutes north of Wellington. It's close to the train station, and a small shopping centre (15min walk), parks, and there are plenty of bush walks close by. it's also home to lots of native birds, like the tui and wood pigeon who love to frequent the garden. There is a bicycle available for use and we can collect you from Silverstream train station.

A comfortable double room is available for short term stay - about 1-2 weeks, depending on the work.

Work is mainly to tidy up the garden and section as it's quite overgrown. There may also be some painting and general housework.

I also have some office work if anyone is proficient in Adobe InDesign and using a Mac.

There is a friendly cat, Cleo, to keep you company during the day. Hope to hear from you :-)

Hi Helpers

We are a family of 5 who live on a lifestyle block in Te Horo about 15 min north of Paraparaumu. We would love some help starting for this sunday ideally ( 6th of May) for upto a week to help mainly with tree planting. we have a wetland and are taking part in a restoration project to return and restore native trees and wildlife. Also if you would be interested in doing the odd spot of baby sitting, or if you have an interest in cooking perhaps...
Our family consist of our 3 children- Ben who is 12, Andreas 10 and Lisa 8. Ed works as a vet and sally part time as a physiotherapist. We have a dog Timmy, a lazy cat cookie and a large number of chickens.
We all enjoy playing board games, being outside and inviting the world in through having helpx visiting :-)

In your downtime you can have a row on the lake, cycle to the beach, take a walk in native bush or just relax.
As well as meals, you are always welcome to help yourself to food from the kitchen.

Otaki is 1 hour north of Wellington by car on the Kapiti coast with its great beaches and bush. We live in a rural setting about 2km from the main state highway 1.

Our place is a specialist heritage rose nursery (all of our roses are grown from cuttings in planter bags and supplied by mail order all year round). We also propagate other plants from our 3 acre country garden (which is open to the public Oct to March). We sometimes have workshops on gardening and arts/crafts in our new barn. We are also a small wedding venue. We have a 4 acre run down pear orchard. We also have a few beef cattle and two young dogs. You would be taking meals with us in our beautiful heritage home built in the 1890s. You will be staying in a lovely warm room in our barn (which has a kitchenette) with your own shower room and toilet. The room can be configured as a twin or double room.

Work involves gardening, weeding in the nursery, and at certain times of year, helping with rose cuttings, mulching... more inside

We are a family of 4: Myself, Amy, my two daughters and Dido (our great Aunt). I am 35 and the mother of Eleanor (8 years old) and Aoife (4 years old). I am studying to be a midwife. Dido is a meditation teacher, writer, and climate activist. My daughters go to a nearby Montessori school within walking distance to the house.
As a family, we are passionate environmentalists. We love to garden and are experimenting with a permaculture food forest in our back garden. We have chickens. The house is within walking distance to some great bush walks, and as a family, we keep active with bushwalking and cycling.
Dido is unwell, and I am studying full-time so having an extra pair of adult hands and good company makes a big difference for us. We may ask you for childcare, housework, cooking dinner and some outdoor garden chores. My children are at school from 8:30 until 3:20 Monday to Friday. Dietary wise, we eat meat, lots of veges and not much sugar.
You would be staying in a pleasant,... more inside

wifi disponible

Kia Ora , Nau mai, Haere mai

We love having people to stay and we are just 15 minutes from the city by No 8 and No 7 Bus.

We are Maori and do enjoy helping our guests pronounce Maori Place Names. In fact most people who speak another language do better that the average New Zealander.

We have lots of work to do outside (gardens, lawns, gather firewood, etc) so if you have experience and enjoy the outdoors, then we need you :-). As well, we have many inside house tasks (painting), general cleaning and cooking for those who love to cook.

You will have your own bedroom and use of bathroom.
Our priority is to paint paint a bedroom and trim hedges and do a bit of general cleaning. We love experiencing different food.
If you would like to stay for up to 7 days we look forward to hearing from you

This is a small, very private and peaceful property on the edge of a protected wetland of regional significance, five minutes from the Otaki rail station and inland from the coast. It supports domestic vegetable gardens, a small orchard, and firewood trees in addition to the wetland margin and native replanting. Help needed with these activities (garden preparation and maintenance, firewood (cutting, stacking, moving) wetlands (weeding and replanting) as well as domestic chores such as house maintenance (window washing, repainting, home handy person repairs).
Accommodation is in a charming, private, stand alone cottage with new bathroom and stovetop cooking facilities located beside the main house. It has one double bed and a sofa bed as well as table and chairs and sunny decks with views into the orchard and beyond. Our guests tell us the meals we provide are very good.
