My wife Sally, our 24 year old son Adam and I are down to earth friendly Aussies, have lived here for 26 years and still haven't got around to finishing off our planned organic vegetable garden, as we operate our small engineering/ automotive repair business from home which keeps us busy, hence the need for additional help at our home on 35 hectares in a small country town of Cambrai with a population of 85 people approximately 90 minutes drive from Adelaide in South Australia. We have good mobile phone coverage, cable TV, and good internet access. We are about 35 kms from the Murray River and about 40 kms from the Barossa Valley which is a large wine making area producing world class wines. Cambrai has a general store/post office, 1 hotel, an area school with a library and local council offices plus a community swimming pool which is open during the summer months. We offer modern comfortable accommodation in our home with 3 good meals a day in exchange for 5 to 6 hours per day, 5 t... more inside

Sally and I (Lynn) live on a lifestyle property in the hills behind McLaren Vale. We have lots of fruit trees, large vegetable gardens, a paddock being rehabilitated with local tree planting and a flock of chooks and a 5 year old Red Heeler named Hilly who loves people. We are developing a B&B on the property which also provides accommodation for our working guests when we don't have paying guests- 2 double bedrooms, shared bathroom and large lounge with TV, combustion heater, pool table and kitchen facilities. There is always lots of work to do outside - retaining walls, paving, planting, weeding, collecting and stacking firewood, etc. Depending on what is happening at the time we may have painting, fruit picking or pruning, netting trees, compost preparation or fence repair.
We don't allow smoking anywhere on the property and we are very flexible when it comes to work hours so you can arrange for days to explore or go to the beach or do a bit every day and have afternoons ... more inside

Hi helpers,

we offer a great farm stay opportunity in the rolling hills about 1.5 hour south from Adelaide near the buzzing seaside town Victor Harbor.

Our farm is home to lots of happy chooks, goats, cattle, geese and yabbies. Our products are well known in the region for their quality and genuine natural taste. We sell our products every weekend at local Farmers Markets.

We are looking for up to 2 helpers. You can help to collect, clean and pack eggs from our free range chooks or you can also do other farm work like repairing fence lines, help to repair our hay sheds, helping in the up coming hay season or selling our products at Farmers Markets. We never run out of jobs.

We would enjoy to have enthusiastic young people around us who are willing to learn more about farming and help us to do our daily jobs.

We would appreciate a stay for 2 to 4 weeks or if you enjoy even longer.

Work Agreement: approximately 4 hrs per day for one person in return to accommodatio... more inside

We'd love a friendly couple to come and give us a hand with the garden on our property. We live on a rural property in one of the premier wine regions of Australia, close to beautiful beaches and 45 minutes from the city of Adelaide.
There is some public transport to the township of McLaren Vale and to Adelaide, with a bus stop app 1 km walk away, but your own car would be best. There is a good shopping centre in McLaren Vale, which is about 3 km.The area is noted for fine food and wine and there are over 70 cellar doors, plus restaurants and a lovely weekly Farmers Market. Mobile phone reception is good and limited WiFi is available. We have a dog and 2 horses, so visitors will hopefully love animals. We are an older couple who love good food and wine, music, country life and equestrian sport, but due to recent surgery, we need a bit of help with gardening and odd jobs. The accommodation provided is private, with your own bathroom and sitting room, so, good for a couple, but due ... more inside

Our property was formerly a dairy farm but was 70% planted to Tasmanian Blue Gum (eucalyptus) trees about 16 years ago. We generally have a few cattle on the property which is in a cool climate region of South Australia close to the McLaren Vale wine growing area and the township of Willunga which is known for art, coffee shops and its Saturday Farmers Market. We are 20 minutes drive from a number of beautiful beaches and a 50 minute drive to the centre of Adelaide. We are serviced by a bus service to Adelaide.
Requirements are for help with maintaining fencing, cutting of firewood, ground level trimming of trees and assistance with gardening as well as other light duties as required. The house has an upstairs bedroom suitable for two persons with a sitting room and own private bathroom. Meals would be with the hosts and sometimes there will be a requirement to help out with cooking.

I am a chap who immigrated from Austria some 28 years ago. My wife is from Sri Lanka. I have been mining and cutting Opal at Coober Pedy for the last 26 years, as well as doing other paid jobs along the way.
I am interested in people which are tough and like hard work such as building Rock Walls, helping with tiling, rendering/ woodwork, mechanics and also going out to the fields to mine for Opal.I also speak German, of course.

Right now I am also interested in people to clean my B+B Accommodation on a daily base.

This place has always been the last frontier and can be rough for people used to a sheltered city-live, but we always treat people fair and square. We like to be treated the same.
If you are scared of work or don't like adventure please do not apply and waste both our time, thanks.

We are not the usual type of help-X hosts.
There is only ONE meal which will be very good and lots, but usually late, Sometimes at 10 PM.

There is tea and coffee,milk,cor... more inside

HAVE YOU BEEN KISSED BY A KANGAROO?

We have a large Aboriginal art gallery with didgeridoos and artefacts, opal shop and the Kangaroo Orphanage in Coober Pedy, the OPAL capital of the world.

We are always looking for help with a variety of work - odd jobs, cleaning the yard, some light construction work, fencing, gardening, painting, helping out in the gallery, household jobs and/or general housekeeping. Being able to operate power tools, do some concreting or tiling and work without supervision will be considered a big asset. There is always something that needs doing around the place. Your working hours vary according to the weather, averaging approximately 5 hours per day with plenty of time off to explore Coober Pedy. Time allowing (and commitment from our helpers) we will also take you on a 'tour' of some interesting places in the region.

You need to have a good sense of humour, be prepared to laugh a lot and be prepared to live with kangaroos jumping aroun... more inside
