Hi,

My name is Belén. I'm in my middle thirties and I recently bought a little house and 4000m land in southern Spain. It's located close to Huelva and 20km from the coast. The idea is to be more or less self-sustainable, to live of the land whereever possible and to recycle materials to build useful things. I have an organic garden as well as chicken, rabbits, ducks, a couple of goats, dogs, geese and cats.
I have already set up the basics such as warm water, electricity, AC and WIFI.

I need help with maintaning the garden but there are also some construction projects in and around the house.

As I go back and forth between Berlin and here there are options for long- and short stays with me being in Berlin or us working and living together. Type of work and hours are very flexible but you should be wanting to get your hands dirty ;)

Lets talk details via e-mail. Looking forward to hearing from you!
I speak spanish, french, english and german.

cheers, ;)

Hi looking for helpers in November,

We are creating an area for camping/glamping..
We will be removing the suckers from under the trees, digging in some pipes and cables.
( not huge ones)
The toilets are already in place but need prettying up so will be planting catus's and yuccas.
We will also be making an outside kitchen, out of fence posts, corrugate and pallets.
So am hoping for theres someone out there with basic woodwork skills and some DIY savvy.

New ideas and creativity are always welcome.

There will probably also be some weeding involved....there's always weeding involved and collecting in of carobs =-]

Here's my usual bumf-

I have a small holding consisting of olives, carobs, almonds, veg patch, pigs, and geese, and am battling to get the land, trees, under control.
There is also a natural swimming pool here, which used to be a normal swimming pool which I have had converted. it now is chlorine free with fish and plants as its eco system...

I have a ... more inside

If you are looking for a place where you'll have comfortable private rooms and food served ready on the table, PLEASE don't waste your time, move along. This is a rough, natural place. And even if the helpX site might often be used to exchange "work" for food and accommodation, that's only a small part of what WE are about and how HelpX is helping US.

We use this tool as a chance for an exchange at another level. For us it has become a tool that can help people to take the responsibility for their own lives back (for free!!!) and get really involved in changing the world, BEING the change, starting from the inside, from their innermost Self.
Starting to learn skills that we need for living as sustainable, unique, individual beings, infinitely different from each other, yet forming a sustainable community of all living creatures on earth.
Stepping out from a system that destroys itself and the future of our children and grandchildren. That keeps people passive and hypnotized in... more inside

We are a small, young HOSTEL company with two hostels located right in the Historic Center of Malaga. We started this journey four years ago hoping to give travellers a relaxing experience. We are all avid travellers and enjoy the relationships formed, the exchange of ideas, melting of cultures possible through this amazing process.

The volunteers we are searching for is someone that of course enjoys the environment they are in, is responsible, friendly and hard working. We are definitely looking for something more LONG TERM (ca. 2 months) / 25 hrs a week.

Volunteer Positions:
- Overnight-Reception
- Setting up breakfast (buffet of the rooftop)
- Maintenance work (painting, fixing things)

CURRENTLY WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR BOTH POSITIONS FROM MID OCTOBER ON!

Some Spanish is required as well as very good English. Other languages a big plus!

We offer:
A bed in our volunteers apartment, equipped with full kitchen, living room, bathroom and free Wifi. Addit... more inside

Our community belongs to the Hare Krsna social movement and we have a nice place (2.5 acres) near Malaga (Spain).
There are 10 people living in the community.
There is a central building where there is a temple and and a few houses where some residents live.
On Sundays we receive lots of guests who come to participate in the temple program.
There are big gardens and 2 plots dedicated to agriculture and fruit trees.
Due to the sunny and hot weather we grow some tropical fruits such as avocados, mangos, chirimoyas, guavas, bananas and a variety of flowers and vegetables.
Our place is very well connected:
-Airport: 10 min
-Malaga city: 15 min
-Beach: 7 min
-Train to Malaga, Torremolinos, Fuengirola, Marbella... 5 min
- Country side: 15 min

Normally we ask our volunteers for a minimum stay for at least three weeks.
Our volunteers help us 6 days a week for 5 hours each day.

Just next to our property there is a beautiful botanical garden with a very peaceful atmosphere. ... more inside
