Hi, We are a remote area accommodation run by a small happy family surrounded by the beautiful Cape York rainforest, next to Iron Range national park and close to many picturesque beaches and amazing reef and river fishing spots. Our guests include contractors, birdwatchers, environmentalists, travellers and people keen to see Cape York and surrounds.
We are located in a pristine, remote environment but are still close to the airport which has direct links to Cairns. The town of Lockhart River is 6k's away and has all services, including a prestigious Aboriginal art centre, fuel, ATM and a comprehensive supermarket.
We would prefer someone who is fit, capable and easy going. The work involves mowing (using a ride-on), some simple maintenance, gardening, also preparation with cooking and cleaning cabins.
You will have your own airconditioned cabin.
We would like you to work 4 hours per day for food and accommodation. The work is not hard and the 4 hours are very flexible so ... more inside

I operate a beef cattle farm, running up to 1500 head of cattle. Mustering is done using quad bikes and sometimes a helicopter. The property is located 120 km north east of Roma, Queensland. Nearest town an hours drive away, own transport useful if you want to do sightseeing in area but otherwise not essential, happy to pick up/drop off from all bus services to here. Usually do weekly run into town for food, etc.

Daily chores can include checking stock waters, starting pumps, fencing, feeding chickens, cleaning and help with 2 very friendly dogs.

I am a recent host to HelpX but have hosted a lot of backpackers, and 2nd year visa visitors over the years and enjoy learning of others cultures, ways and international foods. Also well traveled myself. Meals usually shared together and food provided. Accommodation is good sized room to yourself in the house. Mobile phone service and internet available through Telstra. I require helpers at anytime of year. Prefer longer stays of 2-3 ... more inside

We look forward to you staying with us.

Where we live is surrounded by stunning rainforest clad mountains and year round green pastures. Port Douglas and the Great Barrier Reef, the Atherton Tablelands, Mossman Gorge and the Daintree National Park are all within 20 to 45 minutes drive.

We live on eight acres of orchards, paddocks & veggie gardens with lots of native trees and local wildlife (wallabies, butterflies, birds, owls, green tree frogs). Three years ago, the property supported sheep, barramundi & poultry. We are currently growing veggie gardens & tropical fruit trees (banana & pawpaw) but would like to reintroduce animals & expand vegetable production. We use organic, permaculture and regenerative agriculture principles and are believers in the transition movement. You might be lucky enough to be here when we are caring for orphaned wallabies.

Work includes:-
fencing, building a greenhouse, we are also looking to do some house maintenance and build more accommoda... more inside

Many Australians, Canadians, Brits and Europeans have enjoyed staying on my farm in Conway in the Whitsundays. It is located on a hillside backing onto Cape Conway National Park overlooking water and hills. I live 29 km from the small town of Proserpine and 36 km from the resort town of Airlie Beach. Nearby there are two beaches and Cedar Creek Falls, a great swimming hole.

You can stay in a 2 room screened rain forest cabin complete with comfy beds, fridge, lights and table and chairs. I can provide delicious nutritious meals including fresh free range eggs and freshly baked bread. You can enjoy all that in exchange for helping with basic home repairs, clearing and cleaning out my shed, basic household cleaning and gardening.

If you love nature (rain forest, birds, wallabies, butterflies, etc.) you will love my farm, The Rest. I have a friendly well behaved quiet dog and a cute kitten.

I need help immediately for several weeks. Thanks for considering my request.

We are a family of 5 and run a small veterinary practice in the wildest place in Australia. Rainforest, great barrier reef, indigenous animal welfare clinics and auzzie station farmers make up our daily adventures.

Cape York has more venomous creatures, disease and disasters than most places so the vet work is pretty interesting.

Your room is comfy with double bed. Your own kitchen & bathroom. Walk everywhere from the house or use the bikes. Some driving may be required in the little red car so it's helpful to us if you have a license.

Our patients and clients cover an area the size of Scotland. We run a daily clinic in Cooktown and make calls further afield via light aircraft, boat and 4x4. It's an extreme environment and one of the most interesting place to live on earth.

Be part of our wild world in Cooktown and prepared to help with all sorts of tasks. Housework, gardening, feeding baby wallabies and other wildlife.

Be involved with a unique community v... more inside
