This will be our second year. We really enjoyed helpx last year and are looking forward to hosting again this year. We are two adults with a 17 year old sheep dog living in an old farmhouse on the remote Beara peninsula in the South West of Ireland. We are foodies and seaweed enthusiasts! I also do mosaics in my free time. It's about 4 miles to the local shop, post office and pub and 15 miles from the local town. Perfect if you like nature, walking, kayaking and quiet time. The local village, Allihies, is an old mining village with a couple of engine houses still standing and The Copper Mines Museum sits down the hill. A lively village during the summer months but quiet and peaceful the rest of the year. Traditional music sessions on Sunday nights in the local pub. 10 miles from Dzochen Beara Buddhist centre.
We are looking for help with a variety of different things; something for everyone :) building projects, compost toilet, help going off-grid, sheds, landscaping, stone walls to... more inside

Dunkerron is a recently renovated 19th century manor house situate on mature grounds (circa 20 hectares or 55 acres) with a further 24 modern holiday homes on the grounds. Situate less than 2.5 Km from the town of Kenmare, it is on the route of both the Wild Atlantic Way and Ring of Kerry. All properties are rented out by us as luxury holiday homes, generally for 1 week periods in the high season from June to October

Beside the manor house is an old walled garden which has been completely renovated in the past 12 months with the help of HelpX workers (our photographs show this renovation as well as features on the grounds of the estate)

We are now planning other landscaping projects on the estate, starting with the development of a fruit orchard and wild flower meadow, and are looking for 2 people to help with this gardening work (approx 25 hours per week).

You will be provided with your own shared accommodation in one of the 4 star holiday homes on the grounds during you... more inside

Update: We particularly need house keeping and child minding skills!

Welcome to the beautiful village of Schull in West Cork! If you are an enthusiastic, nature-loving, creative mind, then this is the place for you! With a vibrant community where the mountains meet the sea, it is truly idyllic. Home to artists, musicians, poets, sculptors and self made, the landscape inspires all who visit. Schull has a local language school offering a range of classes and activities. There are also many beautiful walking trails along the shore side, an outdoor gym, tennis and basketball courts, sailing centre as well as the busy pubs and bubbling music scene.

We are a funky family of 4, myself and 3 kids ranging in age from 7-18. Life is busy with school and sport (we are a little obsessed with martial arts!) and music, performance and dance are the essential common thread that keep us smiling :)

So whether you feel your skills are cooking, creating, organising or finding inventive ways t... more inside

Hello.
My name is Ciannait and I live with two of my three daughters on the very beautiful Beara Peninsula in West Cork, in the south of Ireland. I am looking for someone to stay for a short or a long time to help me with housework, the children, the garden (I have an acre and a half), the animals (2 dogs, 1 cat, 1 horse, 2 goldfish) and my small business, a little roadside food stop, that I run from home.
My daughters are Emma who is 11 and Julia who is 9. They are very independent and capable girls. Where we live is a very rural and safe community where they can enjoy a lot of freedom. I offer you full bed and board in exchange for your labour. I don't expect you to work full-time, but I expect that while you are with us you work when we do. If you want to take some days off to travel around the area while you are here that is absolutely fine. Indeed I would encourage it. We live in a very beautiful location where there is much to be seen and lots of friendly people to meet and... more inside

I am an outdoor adventure enthusiast, I particularly enjoying surfing in the many surf spots along the West coast of Ireland. I love being amongst nature and beautiful scenic areas. I was born and raised in the UK and moved to Ireland 15 years ago and instantly fell in love. I have always worked in the outdoor industry which is why I set up my adventure business. Three years ago myself and my best friend also took over a hostel in a beautiful part of Connemara. It's a 30 bed hostel in the centre of Clifden. This year we opened up a bar. It's a magical place to be and more often than not people end up staying here longer than they had first anticipated (like myself). The people are what makes the place so amazing, coupled with the beautiful beaches and stunning green mountains there's no better place to be in the world

Are you looking to stay in a beautiful quiet rural location?

We are located on the side of the scenic Nire Valley, West Waterford. We own a cottage and small holding on an acre of land in the middle of the family farm.

We are looking for individuals or couples to work alongside us who have reasonable English, who are easy going, friendly and relaxed that will fit in to our little family. We are Mary, Eddy and Molly. Molly is our 13 year old Jack Russel who lives in our home and is a very important part of our family.

We have two out door cats, free range chickens, geese, turkeys, ducks, goats and a Jersey cow called Jasmine. Over half of our chickens are ex battery farm chickens. They came to us almost completely bald, no feathers from the neck down. With love and TLC, they all now happy, fluffy chickens and lay wonderful eggs for us every day. Our turkeys are forever turkeys, not just for Christmas. The Indian Runner Ducks are real characters and have to been seen t... more inside
