Hi all,
we are a family of seven (five children, two adults). We Home Educate on our small hobby farm of 12 acres in beautiful Collinsvale. We have two milking goats, one 6 month old male goat(for breeding) and one neutered male that's nearly ready for the pot. Rabbits are bred for the table, three females and two males are our breeding stock. Chickens for eggs and meat and a few sheep. Two cats and a dog complete our menagerie (we don't eat those!).

We grow our own veg and fruit and try to be as self sufficient as possible. Our home overlooks the mountains of the Wellington ranges and has uninterrupted views which are stunning. We are close to beautiful bush walks, being on the fringe of Myrtle Forest. If you are after peace and tranquility with an interest in animals and nature then you will fit right in. The wildlife and birdlife is unique and varied.

We are situated about 12km from Glenorchy which is the nearest major centre an... more inside

Hello!
We are a family of 5. Alex, Laura, Ethan (14), Caleb (12), Erin (9). We also have some cows, chickens, two lovable dogs, and 1 budgie. We live out in the bush, 15 minutes from Deloraine and Meander. We have no neighbors, just peace, quiet and beautiful views. We are surrounded by native forest reserves and eucalyptus plantations. We also live by the beautiful Meander River, which is great for cooling off after a day of work.

We need help cutting firewood. Alex is still healing from a shoulder injury and can not cut firewood for us this year. We need someone who can work with a chainsaw or who is willing to learn. You also need to be able to chop wood with an axe. This would be weekend work, when Alex is home from his job. You would need to do 4-5 hour days on the weekend. This would include cutting and chopping wood under Alex's supervision. Then loading cut firewood into vehicle, and unloading wood in our wood shed.

In return, we offer you your own bedroom ... more inside

Hello Helpers

Room from April 2014

We need some help with our little part of paradise here in Cradoc. There is 20 acres of stingy bark forest but we only tend about an acre of it. It isn't a farm but we grow everything organically.

Basically a clearing of about 40 meters diameter with a quite large house in the middle. We have a large area under garden for food, a large chook run and a mud oven under a roof at the back of the house. Hopefully you'll get an idea from the photos.

There are two of us that live here and we are both pretty laid back people. We are a couple of older left leaning types who live in this area because of the 'alternative' community here. Community and respect are important to us and HelpX seems a great way to widen and deepen respect in the global community across this planet.

Our house can only support a single helper or a couple as we only have one big spare room. A couple of single mattresses on the floor with plenty of blankets if you don't... more inside
