Skipper of 1930's traditional wooden sailing lugger has recently purchased land in south west Ireland on a small island called Bere island in the very beautiful and rugged Beara penninsula. We are hoping to go fully sustainable in food and shelter. Lee is also preparing sailing boats to fish under sail with and happy to have keen volunteers he can share his building skills with.
We have erected a yurt so far and accomodation for helpers in recycled liferaft tents. We are clearing and draining overgrown, wet land to prepare allotment plots for growing food. volunteers will have to contribute to their own food costs until we have enough food growing to feed people. we need volunteers to help work the land including building stone walls, moving equipment, making compost toilets, digging veg plots. We have plans to build a water wheel and keep chickens, goats, bees and a cow.
It's not all hard work however so we've got plenty of toys to keep people entertained including sailing, kay... more inside

MUST BE SUITED TO CHILDREN and ABLE TO COOK

We live on a farm in the countryside which is 3 kms from the nearest village and beach, 10km from a town (Midleton) and 25km from Cork
City (there is a direct train). Sadly my husband died last year so I need a general helper (female) in the house to help with meal preparation for the family and farmers that work here, light housework and some childminding. I have 2 children - a girl aged 7 and boy aged 4 who both go to school and have after-school activities. They love playing outside especially rugby/tennis and doing arts and crafts.

You would have a large ensuite bedroom, with free food/laundry/wi-fi. Also the use of a bike/car (as possible). You would be free to travel every weekend and long weekends can also be facilitated when required

We need someone immediately,so if you are interested in joining our family please contact.

Lovely home by the sea a mile and a half from the fishing village of Dingle County Kerry Ireland. I am a single woman with an animal family of a horse, dog, cat and run a small self cater bnb. I need some help with a few projects that would suit a handyman with a bit of carpentry skills. I need a hay barrier constructed and the rain gutters cleaned as well as a few other little projects. In exchange I will show you around the lovely Dingle Peninsula and cook a few meals as well as keeping the fridge stocked with things you like. I am a pescatarian (vegetarian that eats fish). The guest bed is comfortable and during October you would share a bathroom with me. In November you would have an ensuite. There is wonderful traditional music here as well as historic sights and a huge amount of outdoor activities that I love to share with visitors.

I am a musician and live in my own place just out of dingle town. I have been hosting surfers for a while and thought maybe I can get some help promoting my music online. Ideally I would like someone to film me playing music, post the videos and try to get the world to watch them. I know I could try to do that by myself but then it would be just a selfie channel. It will be better with some human interaction, ideas and inspiration. Some experience with video and familiarity with posting on youtube/social media would be helpful but enthusiasm to record and promote original music essential.

We are situated 1 km from Europe's only sea lake called Loughine which is a marine preserve. Property contains 5 hectares of 12 yr old trees mostly oak ask alder and birch which need some pruning to allow more light. We have planted a further 3 hectares this spring and because we do not like to use weedkiller and to grow organically these new trees need weeding before the winter. We have a polytunnel which is full of summer vegetables at the moment but we need help harvesting and weeding. We have raised beds of potatoes and onions which are ready for harvest now. The other raised beds have winter greens planted and beetroot.
My son Rossa is a tree surgeon lives in a timber house built by himself and completely off the grid with his own wind turbine and water supplied from a spring coming from the hill above Loughine. I live in a semi passive house only 7 years old and I heat my house with a small stove fuelled by our own timber. We also have a small timber house with a hazel an... more inside
