We're an Aussie family living in a medieval village in central Italy. We operate an English language school that offers conversational English and we like to provide a range of teachers with various accents for our students. That's why we love hosting volunteers from around the world :) We've hosted 4 different volunteers in the past year and they stay with us for an average of 1 to 2 months maximum. If you're looking for a small Italian town experience to immerse yourself in the local Italian culture, practice your Italian whilst teaching local Italians English, then please get in touch :)

We are located at 600m on a hillside overlooking the Tuscan countryside and the Niccone Valley. Located some 6 km from the nearest village the location would suit folks who appreciate stunning views and a peaceful environment. Our property is run as a hospitality business for about 3 months in the summer. Help is required in preparing the property and grounds in the spring (March, April and May). Work would include weeding flower beds, strimming weeds on grassy banks and in the vineyard, cutting grass and ideally pruning olive trees. Lighter work would include rubbing down and re-varnishing wooden shutters etc etc. Wheels would be beneficial but a drivers licence a must. We would expect about 20 hours work per person per week in return for very comfortable accommodation and meals as required.

Organic farm in the Chianti Classico Gallo Nero.
We are a family composed by mother, father and two children, 7 and 13 years old. The house is in the countryside, in a very quite place, near the village of San Casciano val di Pesa (15 minutes by walking). Florence is reacheable by bus in 35 minutes. Mobile phones and internet do run quite well. We need help (3 or 4 hours approximately) to stay with our children and help in the house while we work in the fields (olive trees and garden).

We are a group of friends living together in a wonderful place in the countryside. Each one of us has a different profile. There is Damaso, 30, italian, expert of all concern the organic farm's activities, the kitchen garden, animals that we are trying to set, spontaneus erbs and so on. Then there is Jenni, 28, colombian, a jewellery artisan, she is loveble and she is in charge of all homemade stuff, marmelades, jams, jouices, cakes, biscuits, tisane and so on.
Then the best child ever, Indira, 9, half italian and half colombian, she is incredible, full of beans and joyful, it's a pleasure spend time with her discovering and imaging things around the countryside. And then there is me, I work for not for profit organizations, half here and half in Rome, I do as long as I can, but for sure I love this place and my sun passing through the windows in the morning.
We have a mezzanine, called mezzanine for dreamers for one/two persons and a couch.

We are rebuilding a Casa Colonica with an unruly garden on the outskirts of a medieval village in the foothills of the Apennines in northern Umbria. It is right on the pilgrimage route to Assisi. The village has a few restaurants, bars and shops within 10 minutes walk, and a large tourist complex with sports facilities and two open air pools less than a mile away. There are scheduled bus services from the village to Gubbio , Umbertide and Citta di Castello. The surroundings are beautiful and there are many local festivals during the summer.

We are looking for 2-3 people who have proven painting/decorating skills,or carpentry and general handyperson skills who are prepared to work on and be involved with completing the house renovation and day to day cleaning, and help with clearing and tidying the garden ,including converting part of it into a vegetable garden and cutting trees for firewood
We are looking for people to stay and help for up to 3 weeks at any time up from now until... more inside

Deep in the green of olive trees and vineyards in the backdrop of the pleasant village of Cupramattima, the complex is 10 km from the sea and 20km from the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains. It provides accommodation and catering services managed by its owner and expert cook, with 6 bedrooms and an ample terrace.
WiFi free in all the rooms for helpers.
We are starting on end October-November 2010 with the olive harvest for this season, and the next time we will be needing helpers is DECEMBER-JANUARY-FEBRUARY-MARCH 2014. At this time we will be taking cuttings from our grapes in order to start the next batch, and also adjusting 15,000 plants. In APRIL-MAY-JUNE and JULY, the grapes begin to grow and we will need many people to help them grow properly.
Help is also needed beginning in April and particularly in the high season (June-August) for our Agritourism hotel and restaurant. You will help with meal service, in the kitchen, and also with the cleaning of the rooms. It ... more inside

The “static area” (as I call it) is represented by an overgrown gently sloping walnut grove and woodland which ends in a strip of plain , bordered by a delightful creek which (usually) runs all year long, providing for the irrigation of vegetables and corn fields. The land is set in a national park, so all manner of wild animals including wild boar roam freely and hunting is allowed.
The adjacent lands are all abandoned and can therefore be purchased for very moderate prices, thus allowing the potential expansion of the community up to about a 4 hectare area in total.
There is also a spontaneous spring which runs all year except in summer and a well can be easily dug (probably even by hand) as water is a few meters below the surface.
The climate is very temperate due to the low altitude and surrounding woodland.
Construction would be allowed if one of the adjacent lands were to be purchased, as it is sufficiently far away from the stream.
It’s also possible to connect to the gr... more inside

Hi! Our "family" is made up of Franco and me (Martina), plus our friend Pippo who is always cooking fantastic typical italian food for us (and for you)! We have a lively bed&breakfast in the countryside (700 m above sea level) in a beautiful, wild place in the Province of Genoa. We are at the foot of the highest peaks of ligurian appennines (Parco Naturale dell'Aveto) and still very close to the seaside (about 1/2 hour to reach Chiavari; Portofino, Genoa and Cinque Terre take about an hour to go).
We are mainly looking for somebody who can help in doing the cleaning (we have a few houses) and beds for our guests. Usually it's not a daily work, but it gets concentrated before the weekend, so you could have some free weekdays but work more on thursday, friday and saturday(it depends on guests arrival). Our houses are typical of this area, made of stone and wood. It's kind of a... shanti village!

The Hindi word "shanti" means:peaceful, homely, easygoing...a word which expresses a ... more inside

This is a 18 hectare organic farm where we produce mixed cereals and vegetables and also breed horses and donkeys, have a fruit orchard with old fruit varieties and a synergic vegetable garden. Situated within easy reach of Venezia, Padova & Treviso, the nearest bus stop is 1,5 kms and the train station 3 kms. Other interesting sites include la Laguna, the remains of the ancient city of Altino, the walks along the river and a bird sanctuary. The farm is also the seat of an association which promotes organic cultivation and awareness.

I live on the farm with Cristina, two helpers, my 90 year old mother and others. The farm building are still being renovated and accommodation is a small shared room with two beds or in a shared communal room where you can sleep in a sleeping bag. Help is needed in the vegetable garden, with wood cutting, fencing, with domestic jobs and preparing meals. I ask your patience with the fact that we cannot always work alongside you. We are interested in t... more inside
