--We have a gap from 15th-16th August for some serious weeding. No experience needed!--

We are a family of three living in a 400 year old cottage on a tiny farmstead at the edge of the beautiful New Forest National Park (in fact the national park starts right at the edge of our garden). Our cottage is on a sheep farm, but we are NOT the farmers. We are close to Salisbury, Bournemouth and Southampton and are approx. 1.5-2 hours away from London. We can also walk to the river Avon for a refreshing swim.

We grow all our own veg for the family in summer and winter and have recently enlarged our veg plot to include perennial vegetables. We also have a small orchard, a soft fruit bed and a herb bed to look after, as well as three ducks and four chickens. Unfortunately, one of us has recently been diagnosed with arthritis, so we're struggling to keep up with the work.

We would love help with: weeding, mowing, harvesting, preserving, cleaning out chicken and duck coups, digging n... more inside

UPDATE 13/08: WE ARE NOT TAKING ANY MORE HELPX IN 2016

Hi! We live in a converted windmill (see www.barringtonwindmill.com for a brief history) in about 2 acres of land including a swimming pool, with two dogs (a Basset Hound and a Springer), approximately 8 miles south-west of Cambridge. Cambridge is about 10 minutes away by train, and the nearest station is Shepreth - about 5-10 minutes by bike, which you have available to use. The same train line also gives access to London - about 50 minutes away.

We have 3 boys, Joshua (10), Phillip (8) and Henry (6), and require a Spanish-speaking mothers' help to provide (4-6 hours per weekday) assistance with looking after the boys, some housework, and occasional babysitting, in return for board and lodging (own room with free wifi). The reason for requiring a (native) Spanish-speaker is that in 2012 we returned from a 2 1/2 year stay in Seville, and we would like our boys to practice Spanish by being spoken to in this language severa... more inside

I've created my garden behind the house, originally a piece of field. It has a partially wild look with wildlife pond and mini hayfield, Polytunnel, veg beds and a flower border. There's also a herb garden and a flower bed at the front of the house.

I'm looking for someone to help me with some heavy jobs for 2 weeks in October.

I'm a semi retired community artist, ceramicist, happy to offer some studio space or pottery or mosaic tuition.
I'm asking for one person who would enjoy gardening 4 or 5 hours per day. You would have a bedroom and private bathroom with meals or if you'd rather cook your own, that's fine.

The village, set in countryside, is a long string of houses with pub on a hill . These were left after the colliery and most of the village was demolished in the early 1960's.
There are two local nature reserves and many footpaths. There are buses from the village to Durham 8 miles away or if you walk a mile, there's a bus to Durham every 20 minutes. Durham h... more inside

An old papermill in a lovely wooded valley next to a river. 9 miles from Bath and 4 miles from the train line to London.

We have been working on the mill for 7 years bringing it back to life. We are restoring a variety of traditional buildings including an old farmhouse and barns and industrial mill buildings.
Over time our aims include reinstating hydro-power, providing craft workshops, running courses and making the mill a vibrant part of the community.

Camping (or two caravans) in a pretty field.Food provided for you to cook in a covered outdoor kitchen. We will cook a vegetarian supper twice a week. Lunch will be shared most days at the house.
Unless you are particularly hardy May to October is best. We would prefer stays of one to three weeks.
Work 4 hours per day or 28 hours a week. You are welcome to do more than this but we would also like you to explore the local area. We are undertaking conservation work including restoration of 200 year old stone barns. Other work... more inside

We are a friendly, very busy, family run farm. We are looking for 1 or 2 people who are physically fit & like working outdoors to help out 5 days a week, from September - for a few weeks or a few months.

Plenty of variety in what we do: field-scale organic vegetables, poly-tunnels, feeding free-range pigs and sheep, veg box delivery scheme, farm shop and markets in Oxford. Help is needed with all of these aspects of the farm, as well as harvesting & possibly some weeding too...

In exchange we can offer accommodation in a self catering 2 bedroom mobile home with kitchen and living area. Food provided would be our organic vegetables & free-range meat & local, organic dairy produce.

The farm is set in beautiful countryside close to a market town called Thame & 20 mins by bus to Oxford where there is plenty to see and do (10 min walk to bus stop). We are also an hour by bus from London (40 mins by train).

Get in touch if you like the outdoor life and want to be part of l... more inside

Looking for help from the end of August onwards. We can only take placements of 2 months or more due to the nature of the work and needing an induction period.

We are looking for someone to help with our dairy goat herd and other animal care. We are also looking for a person with equestrian experience who can exercise and look after our 2 ride and drive horses plus 3 year old youngster and 4 ponies, preferably with experience of natural horsemanship or parelli, you would work in conjunction with other members of staff.

We are a working mixed livestock farm with chickens, pygmy goats, sheep, pigs, horses, dogs, cats and a small dairy goat unit of approximately 25.
We are a friendly young family run set up needing extra helping hands - we have 3 children aged 9, 5 and 2, you will need to like children!
We are looking for someone who can work independently as well as part of a team, be pro-active and use initiative.
We have a caravan or our yurt if available over the summer p... more inside

August 2016 - another UK festival season drawing to a close. This year I had return visit from an American Helpx who is off enjoying a run of festivals and a 16 year old Spanish lad who is already making plans to return for the whole season next year. Must be doing something right :-) There will be a few weeks accommodation/work available at the end of August/ early September. Lots of tidying, mending and sorting - particularly on the look out for anyone skilled with making structures out of bamboo or skilled at sewing, particularly soft furnishings and upholstery.
