We are a family of four (two children aged 2 and 6). We've been living here for over 10 years in an off-grid co-operative community of around 70 people. Glen runs a renewable energy training facility and Sarah works part-time in Melbourne CBD.

We are looking for someone to help run our home. Experience with looking after kids would be ideal.

Please note that in winter the weather is very cold outside (mountain top), our home has hydronic central heating and guest accommodation has a wood fire.

We can offer a separate self contained secluded dwelling for our HelpX’ers to stay in. As well as meals and board there’s free internet and you’re welcome to borrow our bikes (mountain bike and a hybrid). Situated on top of a beautiful forested mountain overlooking the Yarra Valley we are both remote yet accessible to Melbourne. Sarah travels to the city 3-4 times a week and can transport HelpX'ers as required to the train station or the local town Healesville.

The community is to... more inside

This is a small market garden producing vegetables and herbs. We used to sell the produce at local farmers markets, but now it is used for catering work only (and for us to eat too!).

The vegetable garden is well established and we have a small flock of chickens. We are in the process of establishing a couple of small orchards, building a shed and a greenhouse.

Work is mainly gardening (weeding, mulching, irrigation repairs, planting, propagation, digging paths, making compost, wipper snippering etc.). Occasionally, there may be other seasonal jobs too, wood chopping, harvesting and preserving, killing and processing chickens etc. or building/maintenance type work, depending on your skills/interests and what is needed at the time. We're looking for help for about 5 hours per day, in exchange for accommodation and meals.

We are a couple in our 30s and a lovely little cat. The house is very nice and cosy, warm in winter and cool in summer. You would sleep in a private room w... more inside

Hi we are Antonia, who is local from Australia and Fernando who is originally from Mexico. Together we have started Tonantzin Chocolate, making Aztec Artisan Chocolate. We produce raw organic chocolate bars in our chocolate kitchen, which is in the basement of our house, located on a wild little bush property. Even though you feel emerged in nature, it is only a 10 minute walk or short bike ride to town, where transport is available to the city in one direction and further into the beautiful Yarra Valley in the other.
We require help with packing our chocolate, assistance with the chocolate making process, some light building work inside and out, and we have two young children, so help with childcare and tidying up is always welcome. We would also love help going to weekend farmers markets and even some delivery trips to the city.
We are offering tipi accommodation which will either be set up next to our house or a little more emerged in nature, but still close by. If it is too co... more inside

We are looking for helpers to stay with us for a week with option to extend. Must love kids! We are a couple with three kids (10,6 and 3 boys), living in a house with four rooms and some very special views over the lovely semi rural bush. Our house is walking distance to Hurstbridge train station (1 hour to the city). The guests room is downstairs, with a futon, couch, table, heater, outdoor space. It is a cosy house and the kids are really energetic. We would love to host people who are interested in helping out with hanging out with kids, playing games, teaching them something new, some general house cleaning and giving a hand in the kids' school community garden and greenhouse. 4 hours daily of exchange..can definately arrange full days off so you can explore at your pace. We speak Spanish.

We run two beef/ sheep properties and we did have a Lodge but it burnt down on 5th June. We are situated in beautiful South Gippsland, overlooking Wilsons Promontory.
Since the Lodge burnt down we really just need help on the farms.
My hubby is 72 and is working far too hard. We need to take some breaks away. Work would include help with harvest, fencing, stock management and weed eradication. Ideally it would be great if you had some skills in rural work but not essential, a willingness to work is the main qualification.
We have a house available for a couple or live in with us for a single.

We are a family living on a small property in 1km from the beautiful town of Yackandandah. We recently moved into our straw bale home, which we are in the process of completing. We have loads of basic household jobs, building jobs, landscaping, orchard and vege garden tending jobs that we would love some help with.

We have a separate two bedroom cottage on our property that you can stay in- it has all the basics available. Great if you like a bit of your own space.

My husband and I both work part time and there is someone around most days. However, we do get busy sometimes, so would appreciate someone with a bit of flexibility ie. no work some days, a bit more others, happy to go to the fridge and get their own lunch etc. Would suit someone who wants to do some whole day trips to explore our beautiful area.

Someone who likes kids and animals a bonus- our kids are 8 and 10, and we have two border collies.
Come and enjoy!

We are on a 20 acre farm, 5 km out of Clunes. Clunes is 30km north of Ballarat. We are establishing an organic permaculture farm with food forests, edible labyrinth and organic veggie garden. You will be coming to a warm family with three engaging children. You will be sharing our house but sleeping in a cosy caravan.
We are looking for one or two workers during the months of August through to November to help with various projects on the farm. We are mainly planting out the edible food forest and medicinal labyrinth the next month. We are finishing rennovating some sheds for accomodation.
We need to build a tree nursery and start on the berry enclosure. Lots of outdoor work. Looking for enthusiastic workers to join us in our endeavours. Children welcome.
