Our property is a working sheep and beef farm half way between Gisborne and Wairoa on the inland Tiniroto road. A hill country farm with the Hangaroa river as one of our boundaries. Scenic Doneraille Park is 1 km down the road which has a great swimming hole, gorgeous old shade trees and is a popular fishing spot. We are about 56km from either Wairoa or Gisborne and unfortunately we are not serviced by a bus from either township. Tiniroto has a school and a pub located about 10 km from our farm.
We also have a Cottage Farmstay business for guests which is busy during the summer months.
We offer accomodation, farm experiences, walking tracks and all meals in return for help around the property for short stays. We enjoy meeting and hosting travellers who are keen to learn about our rural lifestyle.

Kia ora. We live off-grid in a straw bale house on a 20 acre block, 5 mins from town. We have been reforesting in native plants for the past 20 years, have a large olive grove, 4 pet sheep, chickens, vege gardens and orchards all in various stages of development. A highlight of our property is the presence of the rare native falcon called the Karearea, which breed and roam the skies. We also have walking tracks, a stream, and are in biking and walking distance (bikes available to use) to town and nearby beaches.

The work includes planting native trees, paddock maintenance (tree protection, fencing etc), maintaining walking tracks, mowing, weed control and other general gardening work. We offer helpers an independent building (ex-housetruck) with WiFi, own cooking facilities and stocked pantry, shower, woodstove, herb garden and long drop toilet. Couples welcome.

Hi!!

Currently looking for 2-4 people to come and work with us with some projects around the estate! There is mainly heavier work around the Estate such as pulling out vines, doing up small sheds and landscaping work. We do have a small amount of housework available but the bulk of the work is outdoors.

Would suit friends or couples and those with a vehicle, as we are about 12km from town.

A young and vibrant household, we like those who work hard and contribute to the household, whether that be with conversation or cooking your country's national dish for us one night.

If you feel that you can come and work hard, and have fun at the same time, we welcome you to send an email and introduce yourself.

Hope to hear from you soon...

Dean
