This is a small, very private and peaceful property on the edge of a protected wetland of regional significance, five minutes from the Otaki rail station and inland from the coast. It supports domestic vegetable gardens, a small orchard, and firewood trees in addition to the wetland margin and native replanting. Help needed with these activities (garden preparation and maintenance, firewood (cutting, stacking, moving) wetlands (weeding and replanting) as well as domestic chores such as house maintenance (window washing, repainting, home handy person repairs).
Accommodation is in a charming, private, stand alone cottage with new bathroom and stovetop cooking facilities located beside the main house. It has one double bed and a sofa bed as well as table and chairs and sunny decks with views into the orchard and beyond. Our guests tell us the meals we provide are very good.
It is a one hour drive to Wellington city, and between 10 and 20 minutes from beaches at Otaki, Pekapeka and W... more inside

Idyllic spot on the Kapiti Coast offering opportunities for fruit harvesting, pruning, tree planting, blackberry hacking, feeding animals and vegetable gardening. Beautiful river and hiking activities in the Tararua Mountains within walking distance in your free time. Also a piano, guitar and ukelale available for free time. Nearest cafe and supermarket shops are 10km away. Train station to get to Wellington city is 13km away. So possible to stay without a car but not ideal.

Hosts have travelled and volunteered overseas so enjoy the company of travellers. Guest accommodation is at the far end of the house in a lovely light room with outlook to garden. No curtains but very private. Bathroom is shared with host family. There is a toddler in the house so afternoons and evenings need to be reasonably quiet. Accepting couples or women only at this time.

We live in Raumati South about 45 minutes out of Wellington on the Kapiti Coast, we live by the beach with Queen Elizabeth park at the end of the street, we are married and have 4 children who have all left home, we are both in full-time employment, and would describe ourselves as hardworking but enjoy life. We are on the bus route but also we have the train station not far away.

The assistance we require is too help with all projects around the house from gardening, moving sand and all other general maintenance around the house.

We have a double bedroom, so if you are not a
couple and do not mind sharing the room and the bed that is fine.

I live in Paekakariki, a seaside village 45 minutes north of Wellington. My family live five minutes from the beach and have Queen Elizabeth park a minute away. It is a friendly and vibrant community and there is plenty to do in your time not spent working. I have a quarter acre section with lots of garden, fruit trees and vege beds plus about 35 chickens. Work here differs depending on the season but almost always will involve outdoor work and house work such as clearing vege beds, mulching and weeding, cleaning indoors. Interior painting would be a plus!

NO HELP NEEDED FOR NOW, THANKS

hey, oi, ola, salut, shalom, hallo, czesc etc

I'm looking for some help with getting my garden going and some odd jobs around the house such as repainting window frames and re-staining my deck.

This is a lovely house on a small section within walkable distance of Cuba street and Newtown, and a short bus or bike ride from the South coast. Beautiful views, large deck, as well as a sheltered patio. You can catch the bus into town just across the road, plus there is a bicycle you can use to get around.

There's a very nice room that's available for you, plus breakfast and dinner in exchange for an average 3 hours of qualified work per day. I love eating, so you can expect tasty and healthy food. No meat though, sorry, eggs, fish, dairy but no meat.

I'm working on an end of study (maths and AI) project from home so I'll be around a lot. I've traveled a lot and worked in many places around the world, I speak French, German, English, Portug... more inside

Hi, we are a Dutch/New Zealand family with 3 children aged between 16-25 years. We have moved from the beach in Paekakariki to a beautiful lifestyle block in Te Horo, (1 hour from Wellington) on the Kapiti Coast.

Our youngest son Thijs is 17, terribly friendly and a very nice guy to have around. Stefan is 26, he is our outdoor man, hunts in his spare time and is currently working on an estate in the Highlands, Scotland. Dom, our middle son, is a painter and lives in Paekakariki. The other members are our 4 cats and 3 dogs plus Loki and Andy, our beautiful horses and 7 sheep that are still to be named...

We are a happy, easy going family who like the outdoors, and we have embraced a lifestyle with natural and mostly free range/organic food. We also cater for those following the Paleo or Keto lifestyle.

Our block is about 8 acres and divided over 3 paddocks, some forest and gardens.

We are looking for some help (single person or couple) around the garden, with planting, bu... more inside
