WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR HELPERS TO HELP WITH LANDSCAPING/YARD WORK!!!

Hello helpers! We are Rose, Luke and Billy Jarman and we would love to welcome you to our place, Home on the Hill Tasmania :-)

I'm Rose, I'm 34, a transplanted Brit, a midwife and a mum to our happy little chap William (1), Larry (dog) and Lucy (cat). My husband Luke is from South Australia and a carpenter by trade. We have both travelled quite extensively and both Helpx'd and WWOOFed since 2004. I speak a little French and a few words of Spanish so while we welcome those of you who speak other languages (and we love to learn!), we are mostly English speaking.

We live about 20 minutes outside of Hobart in the tiny village of Collinsvale - we have a shop and a school and no public transport so your own vehicle is advised. I can pick up and drop off and can often give lifts but obviously if youd like your independence your own transport would be useful. We are on 10 acres of gardens and native bus... more inside

Hi Everyone!

We are a bit of the odd one out on helpx... obviously a beautiful spot but not rural, as we are right in close and easy walking distance to Hobart city and all her charms!

Our spare room (with a great view!) has a queen sized bed suitable for a single (superhero) helper or a couple who enjoy outdoor work, house cleaning and maybe some shared cooking for fun and to share culture.

The house is really easy going and we love to share our space and meals with travellers, meeting new and interesting people from all over the world!

Short stays of two nights are best for us as we both travel a lot for work and have to juggle when we are here and able to have you stay! We are an omnivorous household but happy to accommodate and feed vegetarians for a night or two as required!

At the moment the garden is in full spring mode and needs LOVE! We are also renovating a new kitchen area so we have lots of interesting things to do! Lovely outdoor space which is perfect... more inside

I own a fishing vessel that is kept in the docks of Hobart Tasmania. The vessel works the Tasmanian coast harvesting Abalone.

The vessel is 70 feet long and constructed of wood. Its extremly comfortable with 9 berths on three levels, full galley, Austar and two bathrooms.

When the weather permits I and several other divers and deckands take the vessel working around the west coast diving for Abalone.

I can sign the second visa form also.
If you wish to stay knowledge of boats is not necessary however if going to sea, you must understand that we cannot drop you off. The trips generally last around 4-5 days. Charter vessels charge around $2500 for what you get for free!
When at sea just generally helping out would be appreciated. Cleaning and helping with cooking ect

When the vessel is tied up, help with some maintenance would be expected. Generally cleaning, sanding and painting. Nothing too stressful.

I have several other vessels that i may ask for help wit... more inside

* Picking is finished. Mostly indoor works now.*
Weeding in the veggie garden, housework and cooking is ongoing :-)*
- St Imre is a vineyard one hour South of Hobart in the small but beautiful town of Dover. Dover has everything one needs: supermarket, cafe, pharmacy, bank, bottle shop, police, doctor's surgery, high school to 10 years etc. The beach is 20 minutes walk through town, the mountain is behind us. Our property has the vineyard, natural forest, pastures, veggie garden, lakes and creeks. Our wild life and the birds come visiting right to the front door :-)
- We are flexible with work hours. Some days we work all day in the vineyard/veggie garden, some days we just clean the house, cook/bake or do something in the cellar, serve customers or visit friends, sit and talk, read a book or go for a walk etc. You will be treated as PART OF THE FAMILY, so the help we require is not really like a "job". While with us, you will live the life of a country farmer.

Hello there from the ‘WILD WEST’ of Tasmania.....
I have a lovely 2 ha hobby farm in Marrawah on the hill with uninterrupted view looking north to Cape Grim, west to Nettley Bay and Green Point Beach, the famous surf beaches of the wild west coast and the Tarkine........
My large country house has a self contained apartment downstairs that is suitable for 2 people..
The beach is a few minutes walk and fabulous swimming..hiking..surfing...bbq or just hang out..
I need general garden and property maintenance in return for accommodation and food. I use a brush cutter and pull start lawn mower..I have nearly finished painting the upstairs of my house....little bit left to do...
Marrawah is 55klm from Smithton, the closest town, it is a thriving farming, fishing and tourism region, a local pub, shop and tourism infrastructure...a remote wonderland in the Tarkine and the ‘edge of the world’

We have a number of work for accommodation positions available at The Nook this Winter.

We are also currently searching for a night manager for The Nook Backpackers. Starting date would be 26/05/2018. We are a non party hostel so this just entails ensuring people are quiet after 11pm. In exchange for this you will receive your own private room with your own bathroom and join our fun Nook family. Perfect for someone looking for day work or already working during the day and looking to save on accommodation. Applicant must be an outgoing person who has no problems with being forceful (not in the physical sense) when telling people to be quiet. Please contact us via email if this may suit you.

Our farm is a small 3 hectare hobby farm, on it we enjoy growing much of our own food, we have a large mulched vegetable garden, small orchard and great views of Mt Roland, just 3 km's from Sheffield township. We are interested in permaculture principles and hope to add a food forest to our land soon. The house is mud brick which some wonderful Helpers have helped us to render. At the moment we have 4 chooks,7 ducks as well one cat and one Labrador and small mixed breed dog. We hope to add bees at some point. We now have a house cow named Bess and her beautiful calf, we have been making yogurt, cheese and butter with her milk. We have recently added two Australian Miniature goats to the mix and will breed them this year.

We are looking for helpers who are good with children as we have 4 children living at home aged from 8 and 15. And are prepared to get involved with whatever work needs doing at the time, from feeding chooks to helping with housework and farm work. We enjoy meet... more inside

HELPERS NEEDED : Its autumn now, time for garlic planting and enjoying the colour and briskness of the season. Helpers welcome.

Here Now: Ellen and Stewart and Barbara

TODAY: 17 May 2018 Cabe has gotten away to join up with Kerry in Turkey. He will be away till mid June. We have Lars staying along with Ellen and they make a great team. We have finished the new garlic patch, all planted and mulched with seaweed. We only have the main patch to do which should take a couple of weeks.

9 May Ellen arrives today and Cabe will be away till Monday when he will be back with the plastic to cover the greenhouse he has been building out the back paddock. Stewart got the new garlic patch cultivated and bedded, ready for planting and also sowed and rolled a new section of paddock with grass seed.

6 May. All good now that we have had a bit of much needed rain. Ellen from Germany might be coming and there is still room for more!

I live on a bush block and have started to implement a permaculture garden 3 years ago. There is a lot of work especially since the soil is pretty bad, very hard and full of rocks. I have a lot of projects beside the garden (e.g. tiny house, pizza oven, yurt, floor heating system in the house, ....), too, which need skills I don't really have. So someone with carpenter skills would be perfect for help.
The accommodation is in the house in an own room, shared kitchen and bathroom. Free internet. Basic expectation is helping out for 5 to 6 hours, 5 days per week.
