Are you interested in experiencing life on a sheep and cattle grazing property in a beautiful location not far from the Gippsland Lakes? We are located 25 minutes from Bairnsdale in South East Victoria.
We are looking for young people to help all aspects of operating a farm, including stock work, fencing, maintenance and garden/house help.
Some farm experience is beneficial but not critical.
We will provide comfortable accommodation, complete with your own living space and delicious food for four to five hours work per day.
We will be able to pick you up from the train in Bairnsdale.
We also love to travel and enjoy different cultures. Rick enjoys communicating in Spanish after spending a year in his youth in South America.
We look forward to hearing from you, please feel free to contact us and we can see if we can welcome you here at Gracemere
Warm regards
Rick and Jenny Robertson

We are a family of four (with two sons aged 16 and 12 years). We own a semi rural property about 1.5km from the township of Mount Beauty. Our property has a large vegetable garden, an orchard as well as an extensive raspberry patch. We would love some help with jobs such as mowing lawns, pruning, weeding and garden projects.
We have a few boats, many bikes and a few pairs of ski's that could be borrowed to go exploring the area.

We live on 77 partially forested, hilltop acres, full of kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and native birds. The township of Castlemaine is only 11 km away (and where we will be collecting you from the train station). Historic gold mining towns are nearby where you can explore our Gold Rush history.
Our home is quaint and rustic. We live in a passive solar mud brick/stone house, fueled by solar power and have an outdoor composting toilet. We drink rainwater and water our garden from our dams. Water is always an issue where we live and we would expect all HelpXers to respect water saving practices, e.g. having 3 minute showers.
Our garden is organic and we grow vegetables, herbs, fruit trees, and keep chickens and bees.
We are professional teachers and work part time. Mischa plays the didgeridoo, is the garden guru and Catherine makes hand knitted garments from handspun yarn prepared from raw fleeces and tends the bees and chickens.
We both speak fluent German, and Catherine... more inside
