General garden / outside maintenance and some hard landscaping (just concrete block).

Only Ian and I live at the property. We have a separate studio flat which can be used - has a double bed, kitchen, lounge area, wifi, television, shower room - fully equipped. Meals can often be provided.

45 minutes by train to London. Winchester city is 30 minutes by train. Reading is the nearest large town.

Sherfield on Loddon is a small village with a shop, hairdressers, Post Office and a couple of pubs. To bike to the village (can be provided) from Mole End takes 20 minutes. There is a bus service from the village to Basingstoke which is a good shopping centre with banks etc.

Our large house is set in the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, made famous by 19th century landscape painter John Constable. Also one of the driest areas of the UK!
I am looking for help in March to prepare for my daughter's wedding in early April. This would involve gardening, some light housework, ironing and perhaps some simple cooking.
The household consists of Lyn, who manages the house and garden, husband Colin, who works from home so is often around during the day and Colin's mother Marjorie who enjoys meeting all our helpers. Accommodation is in your own room with a sitting room and bathroom. Meals are taken as part of the family using our own produce as much as possible. We grow the majority of our vegetables, fruit and salad as well as raising pigs and sheep for meat. We also have chickens. We only accept non-smokers.

We are a seasonal bicycle hire business based in three separate locations (Canterbury, Whitstable, Herne Bay) in Kent UK (1hr 20 mins from London). We offer good accommodation right on the beach at Whitstable, plus meals (shared cooking). The post would suit a couple, or two people willing to live at close quarters. Volunteers will be responsible for: hiring bikes in the morning (mainly pre-booked customers) and receiving returned bikes in the afternoon; basic bike preparation/cleaning/maintenance duties (training given); taking bookings answering emails and entering details into the computer system. We have not used volunteers before but have experienced the volunteer process first hand after extensive travels in Central America! We are ideally placed to provide a great volunteer experience for anyone wishing to explore the UK and Europe (Dover 20 mins away, for crossings to mainland Europe).

We are looking for volunteers (1 at a time) from mid-April until the end of September.

We are a small productive organic market garden just 200 yards from the beautiful River Wye, run by two young growers, plus a seasonal trainee. We work full-time in the garden producing a wide range of veg that we sell to local shops, restaurants and online retail customers. We focus mostly on salad and other high-value crops (tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach, peas, spring onions, herbs etc.)

Volunteering here is quite physical but is very varied, and is a great opportunity for someone who is seriously interested in learning about market-garden-scale growing. In return for your help with sowing, weeding, harvesting etc. we will be happy to share with you everything we know about growing veg. We ask volunteers to work 9-3 and will provide all food.

We live next to the market garden. Helpxers can camp in the garden by our house and use our kitchen/facilities. It is a sociable house and we like ... more inside

Hi, we are looking for some help with our gardens/land. We have about an acre which has some over grown patches, trees and bushes which need cutting back, trees to plant and general clearing up. A few bonfires, weeding etc - no major skills needed but enthusiasm for being outside and getting on with it is a must!
We are situated in Cornwall, about 5 miles from the sea in the countryside. We have 2 kuni kuni pigs and dog who loves walks on the beach.

We don't have any space in the house - we have a small child and another on the way. However, there is a static caravan in the garden which will give basic accommodation - it's not glamorous as it's also on the to do list in terms of projects - 2 x bedroom, kitchen, tv, shower, loo etc (we can probably stretch the wifi down there too!) and there is plenty of room for a tent in you prefer that. We are looking for a couple of travellers, or one very self sufficient person to spend a couple of days a week doing some work on the garden,... more inside

Thanks for finding one of the most unusual opportunities on Help-X! I'm a 30 year old male living on the Suffolk coast in England and welcome travellers who want to discover East Anglia and it's culture.

WHERE:
I live in a small village in 'an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB)' which is just a short walk to the sea. Nearby is Rendlesham Forest, the market town of Woodbridge, Sutton Heath and the famous Anglo Saxon ship burial site Sutton Hoo. A little further is Ipswich and the fishing towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold. London can be accessed via train from Ipswich (1.5 Hours).

WHY:
I am willing to host travellers and introduce you to the county of Suffolk as i am a former traveller myself and take great pleasure in meeting people from different countries.

WHAT:
I love learning new things, so in exchange for accommodation and food you can give me language lessons of your native language and teach me a 'mystery' skill (it can be anything you suggest (juggling, k... more inside

I have a three bedroom house in a beautiful English small town in the middle of stunning countryside. There is a train station 5 minutes walk from my house which goes to London Waterloo in under two hours. I am 15 minutes by train from Salisbury and 40 minutes drive from Bath and from Stonehenge. In the village there is an open door pool, a gyms, several shops and pubs, churches and a small supermarket.
I have a 8 year old daughter and a 7 year old boy, perfectly bilingual (Italian and English) and I need help with them three afternoons per week and the odd Sunday or evening when I work. Help with house chores would be essential, but in a sharing, collaborative way. We are looking for a fun, loving person, who likes being with children and playing with them. We would like a non-smoking girl-helper and with no animals, and we would be delighted to share our food with our guest. We are really looking forward to host someone who can be part of the family - we also have two cats!

Are you available for at least 4 weeks? Do you have experience with horses/ponies? Housework? Gardening?
We are a Riding holiday centre with 14 ponies and other animals (goats, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs - plus a few exotics geckos, stick insects, salamanders etc)
We are in the Lincolnshire Fens - flat fertile farmland on the East Coast of England. It is a very rural area, about 6 miles to the nearest town, but there is a station 2 miles away and a demand responsive bus which comes past the farm (but not often!).
I am in a wheelchair (paraplegic) and struggle along with 2 full time girls so any help around the farm with garden, children, ponies or other animals would be great for us. You would be welcome any time of the year.
In return for your work we can offer you a nice room in the farmhouse and home cooked food plus some horse riding. You need to be versatile and do a bit of everything, as no day is ever the same here! Someimes the work outside mucking out can by physi... more inside
