Hello,

I am Shelley, a working mum, and I live with my cheeky little nine month old boy, and two boarders in urban Masterton. I have done a bit of travelling myself, and look forward to the opportunity to welcome travelers into my home as others have done for me.

I can offer a room in my house, and use of a shared bathroom. I can provide three meals per day, and unlimited wifi. There is a bicycle available and/or a car (for someone who can drive a manual and has the relevant licence). However, I am happy to collect helpers from the train station, so no self-transport is required.

The environment here would suit a younger person, or perhaps two friends who are travelling together. (The room is currently set up with bunks, so not ideal for couples sorry!) In our house we have a fun and social environment, and we enjoy having people over.

In return for your accommodation/food, I would expect around four hours work a day however I am flexible with sightseeing and travel p... more inside

We are looking for helpers from 4-3-2018. We live on a fantastic beach front lifestyle block and we need general help with property maintenance; gardening, fence repairs, painting, weeding, firewood etc.
In exchange for 4-5 hours of work a day and good company, we offer food and accommodation on one of the most stunning parts of the coast.
Because this is a rural property there is no public transport close by, so you'll need to have a car to stay with us.
The first three days of your stay will be a trial period to see if we're a good match and will have a fun time together.

We live in a small town only 1 hour from Wellington City either by car or by train. There is a lot to see and do in this part of the country. We've got an acre of land with a house, a few trees and small gardens. We have a small vegetable garden and an orchard with a few fruit trees. We've got a small dog, a bigger dog and a few chickens. Paco and Diego, our Alpacas graze in our paddock. We enjoy being part of this scheme because we love meeting foreigners and speak a few languages between us. Food and cooking are a passion of mine so my guests must not be fussy eaters or have food limitations. We have one spare bedroom that is clean, comfortable and private. This is a fantastic way to get some help, meet people and learn more about other cultures. There is always home maintenance work to be done around here. Contact us if you're keen to experience life in South Wairarapa. We'll do our best to make this a memorable experience for you.

Two special times help needed

Kia Ora and welcome to Aotearoa ... we are James, Kimberley and Anabelle.
Our own little paradise is a 12 hectare life-style farm at the foothills of the Tararua Ranges between Masterton & Carterton (approx. 75 mins drive to Wellington or Palmerston North). It is serviced by train from Wellington and also part of the bus network if you do not have your own transport.

We love the country lifestyle, living simply and we enjoy peace and quiet and stunning views. We are slowly renovating our home, landscaping and building food growing areas outside to provide a more sustainable living. Our home uses rainwater/solar hot... more inside

Hey there. My name is Dean, from New Zealand, i normally live 6 months of the year in a wee gypsy village in the foothills of the Balkan hinterland in Bulgaria, and 6 months in India... but in some strange twist of fate i have just done the unthinkable..and whilst visiting fam and friends in NZ, drove past a dilapitated old tavern , fell in love with it..and bought it!
Now i have a quite mammoth task ahead of me working on restoring this old iconic building back to her former glory, but it is a job that is giving me great joy, and appreciation as well from the local community, who are very happy to see the place being loved again.
It is a all timber building over 100 years old, and was built with lovely native NZ timbers throughout.
Time has started to take its toll on the old girl, but her "bones" are good and the potential is enormous.
Yes, the tavern is a beautiful, (and big) restoration project that I have taken on. You will see and feel the appreciation that the locals have... more inside
