This listing is for two separate properties, one in St Kilda West and one in Somers, The Mornington Peninsula.(70mins drive from Melbourne).

At the moment, I need help in Somers and not in St KIlda.

Both properties have a comfortable, good sized, QS bedroom for Helpxers. Both properties have internet and all mod cons.

1. Somers, The Mornington Peninsula. (photos below. Interiors to follow).

This is a 3 bedroom (2 bathroom) beach house, 5 minutes walk to a lovely safe, clean, sandy swimming beach, in the small coastal town of Somers on The Mornington Peninsula. This is a residential area, however The Mornington Peninsula is a summer destination for holiday makers in search of both Bay and wild, surf beaches great hiking, local food and award winning wine (mainly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay).

There is a train from Melbourne to Frankston, change for Bittern or Hastings and there is also a bus from Frankston to Somers. I am happy to pick people up from stations nearb... more inside

Our place:
Ours is a beautiful property in the voluptuous hills of South Gippsland. We have an established orchard, a dog, a chicken, and visions for a more productive, sustainable garden. Our home is a unique mudbrick pole house, cosy with space to be comfortable. We are surronded by dairy farms, birds and lizards.

We are a few minutes' drive or a 20 minute walk from the centre of town (supermarket, bakeries, post office, cafes), 20-30 minutes drive from beautiful beaches, weekly markets, national parks, and just over 1 hour from amazing Wilsons Prom. Buses run direct (2 hours) Korumburra to/from Melbourne several times a day.

We have bikes, musical instruments, mobile phone reception and WiFi in the main house.

Us:
We are a couple with two children (6 and 10 yrs old) with lots of ideas but not enough time. We work and study, surf and make, speak some French, love friends and try to live sustainably and fairly.

Our farm is in a hidden valley surrounded by National parks. We use organic and permaculture principles and need help to produce food. Milk and cheese from our herd of dairy goats, vegetables and fruit from our gardens and eggs from free range chooks. We try to work along side of the abundant wildlife.

Guests stay in a self contained cabin but have meals with us in our underground house. Our original house was destroyed in the 2009 bush fires and our architect son designed us a very energy efficient building that could cope with disasters. We eat mostly the food we grow and can cater for vegans and vegetarians.

Help is required to care for the animals and land typically from 9am-1pm and in the evening feeding time. Work may involve preparation for educational workshops and events.

Minimum stay one week, though longer stays can be negotiated. We take trips to local interest points such as the waterfalls and wineries and are happy to share our extensive experience of livi... more inside

**I"m looking for a single female helper for around 3 weeks from the start of February. ***
I'm not taking enquiries for any other time. Please only respond if you have read my ad. I will not respond to generic requests.

Hi, I'm a 40 year old single woman living in Footscray in Melbourne. I live in a lovely 3 bedroom home with my little dogs Tess and Charlie.

Footscray is a dynamic, multicultural suburb just 7 km from Melbourne. My house is close to a bus stop that goes straight to the city and there's also a train station about 10 mins walk away. I love the idea of having people from all corners of the globe coming to stay in my home and spending time together.

I have a chronic illness which makes doing some day to day things at home pretty exhausting and I've found having helpers really helpful in managing the household.
I have a list of jobs that I need completed. The main jobs are cooking, shopping, cleaning, gardening, laundry and help caring for my dogs (takin... more inside

Thereís a bike you are welcome to lend. Food wise - we can discuss dietary preferences and Iím happy to supply - however cannot guarantee cooked meals. Kitchen is equipped with stove/oven/fridge various gadgets etc but no microwave. This is a pretty peaceful home/base which you are welcome to enjoy while enjoying Melbourne surrounds.
