*** UPDATE:

We need a volunteer to start the first week of November, and another one in December.

Usually we don't select volunteers until we know when the current volunteers are leaving, we know it's not good for planning but it's good for the current volunteers since they don't feel pressure to leave and that is more important for us.

Anyway you can apply any time and if we like your profile we keep in touch and let you know when we have any position available

The hillside property of Treflach Farm has been in the family since 1904. For the majority of this time the farm was a traditional dairy farm reliant on petrochemical fertilisers, feed supplements and red diesel. In August 2006 I (Ian) returned from working abroad to start a new business on the farm to prove small scale agriculture can be environmentally aware, promote biodiversity and remain viable in a difficult and competitive market such as food production.

Today Treflach Farm:
Operates an on farm butchery and bakery
Is an employer both on the farm outside Oswestry, Shropshire where we look after the land, animals, run courses & make pies, and in Hatfield, Herts for delivering into London and the SE
Is a real working farm with free range animals
Distributes chilled food products on behalf of national award winning chefs & food producers

The proceeds from these activities are re-invested by a Community Interest Company providing horticultural therapy projects ... more inside

We are looking for ITALIAN speakers.

My husband and I both work, and have two lovely children aged 10 and 12. I am looking for someone to speak Italian with them, DRIVE them to school when necessary, and play football with them!

We live in a mediaeval house with much CARPENTRY work needed to be done.

We have a large VEGETABLE GARDEN and fields which need maintenance - at present with two horses, but soon to get sheep and/ or llamas. We also have two dogs and two cats.

Our house is in a village with a swimming pool, tennis courts, gym, post office, library, butcher, and baker.

You would have the use of a CAR, and a separate bedroom and bathroom, (but the house is very old and not very luxurious! )

An appreciation of good food and COOKING skills would be ideal. (But we don't eat much meat).

**NO MORE THAN 4 HOURS/DAY IS NECESSARY, WEEKENDS FREE **

(Paid architectural drawing work is a possibility)

We are a loving, happy family. We would love... more inside

Pentiddy is a family run Permaculture and woodland project on a 27 acre holding- consisting of a small flock of sheep, a few ducks and lots and lots of trees including a small orchard.
We have built our own cruck framed straw bale house, with a new natural swimming pond and we also run a natural burial site.

Approx. 13 acres is existing woodland and most of the remainder is new planting of coppice, much with public access.

Living is blissfully basic, all off-grid- dry composting toilet, rainwater harvesting, solar/wind power systems, limited wi-fi internet available. No TV.

Help required in the woods, garden (i.e polytunnel/food production) completion of straw bale house and other day-to-day tasks such as chopping firewood, cooking etc.

Some of our other interests are green woodworking, breadmaking, homebrewing, bushcraft, charcoal burning, music and basketry.

This is a creative family environment- there is always constant conversation with our two home educated chil... more inside
