Looking for a keen cyclist, interested in History who can lead short cycle tours. Daily for about 3 hours.
Occasionally we do longer tours for cruise ships.
Our clients are international so if you are a linguist it could be good practice.

If you have a working knowledge of bike mechanics then we can offer you further hours doing maintenance.

Accommodation is a studio room, with separate kitchen & toilet. Access to the local spa for showers, swimming pool etc.

You will have a bicycle for your own use and Peter has an extensive knowledge of the local music scene as well as organising events in the Highlands. You will be able to attend these, and also stay longer in the area, with accommodation & food provided, so you can see more of the beautiful Scottish countryside.

Hi Helpers,
We run a high quality dinner, bed & breakfast from our home, Melfort House, in the Scottish Highlands. Melfort House has a reputation for providing luxurious, elegant accommodation and excellent food. We operate a 54 foot polytunnel which provides us with veg and salad for our business and family. We have a stretch of foreshore onto Loch Melfort, some native woodland and number of fields and paddocks around the house which provide grazing to livestock. Our family consists of two children who are away from home at school & university and occasionally make an appearance at weekends and holidays, a cat and 2 dogs. We need 2 people (a couple or friends) to help us - preferably for a 3+ week stay. Our helpers need to have good English to converse with our guests. We need people who are happy to be flexible and prepared to help with the garden & polytunnel, dog walking and housekeeping, breakfast or dinner service. In return, we can offer private, spacious accommod... more inside

APRIL UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2018

We are located 2 miles north of the popular ski and all year mountain resort of AVIEMORE, in the highlands of Scotland.

Our croft is about 1/2 an acre. We have the 2 bedroom house, an outside Summerhouse, small caravan (all for helper accommodation), a small wildlife pond, a recently finished greenhouse from reclaimed windows. At the end of the property there is a woodwork shop - garage, co existing with accommodation for 2 guests. Which we rent out for the summer months.

We are looking for an extra hand or two around our place. Helping with the day to day tasks, change overs in the guesthouse, tending the greenhouse and garden, child minding while we do it!, landscaping, splitting logs and stacking, building interesting structures! It's a broad range of work typically outside.

I (Alex) also travel to my family's hill farm to partake in general farm tasks. I also walk the Cairngorm Mountains tending my family's Herd of reindeer in the summe... more inside

We are retired but active couple, we have 8 acres of ground full of wonders such as horses, chickens, a dog and a cat, out buildings, a wind turbine, gardens and a vegetable plot therefore we would like some people to come and help us out in and around the house and land.
We are sociable pair. we have 4 grown up children who no longer live at home so we have space to host people and we want to share our home and stories with interesting people who like to do the same! We have rooms on Air BnB too, so guests often come and go, as do friends and family. Having Help Xers will be a great practical help but also fun and interesting for us and you too!! Please note
we are NOT a farm

End June to end July would suit.

The Erraid Community is a small island off the Isle of Mull (Inner Hebrides) and part of the Findhorn Foundation Community. As a spiritual land-based community we live and work together as custodians of the island and cottages that were built for the northern lighthouse board in the 1860s. Our life is very practical whilst living with spiritual principles. Our main role here as custodians of the island is to maintain the cottages and outbuildings. This involves: painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, maintaining the many sash windows, metal work, fencing and much more. Our second priority is keeping our aim of trying to live off the land as much as we can, we have organic gardens, two poly-tunnels and many chickens. Alongside that we are running a guest programme called Love in Action, and we offer retreats. Please read more on www.erraid.com.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help out until mid July.

Dear HelpX volunteers,

Hope you are all well and looking forward to a trip to the Far North of Scotland.

Vacancies from August- November 2018: 4 days of 6 hours workig followed by 4 days off or 4 hours work on a daily base. But we are flexible.

Armadale House B&B had the first HelpX volunteers in 2012. HelpX volunteers from all over the world came and helped out. A great experience not only for the B&B, but also for the volunteers.

The North Coast of Scotland is a brilliant place to do hill walking, surfing, bird watching, painting and photography.

HelpX volunteers mostly stay for a couple of weeks or even longer.

Basics tasks for the volunteers:
Changing beds, cleaning the B&B rooms, do the laundry and help serving breakfast.

In case the B&B is not to busy, there are always other jobs to do, just tell us your talents/skills and we will see if it fits in.

We will do our best to give you a great time to explore this remote corner of the world.

We are looking for help from 29 Jun - 23 July.
Situated near Nairn (close to Inverness & Loch Ness) in a beautiful hidden glen, we have 57ha of improved grass, rough grazing, wetland & birch woods. There are 20 ewes, 60 hens and grazing cattle plus vegetable garden, polytunnel & orchard. Excellent wildlife habitat with ponds, flowers, birds & animals. Holiday homes provide main income. Following an agricultural degree and 21 years managing a dairy farm we moved towards self-sufficiency in 1996 on our own croft. Interests include djembe drumming, hill walking, eco building, anti GM campaigning and cooking meals from home grown produce.
Beginners welcome, enthusiasm and no smoking is all we ask - we will teach the rest, even english! We take only one volunteer at a time so you live as one of the family, and we try to take every volunteer to a ceilidh. Available most times, usually for a minimum of 4 weeks. Non-working, paying guests welcome in holiday homes www.hiddenglen.co.uk
