Hi, we are brother and sister Bethany and Jacob. We run a dog boarding kennels and equestrian stunt team in the Borders of Scotland. We set up our business in 2008 after 9 years living in France and doing our horse entertainment/circus/re enactment type shows. While we were living in France our parents were signed up to HelpX and had many interesting people staying with us.

The dog boarding kennels started because our grandparents have a kennels. We do our horse shows all over the UK and Europe mainly in the summer months with our 14 horses, the shows include lots of different skills including jousting, combat, fire breathing, circus tricks, dressage, stunt riding, dog training, live music and many more! Our shows are set to music and include costumes and props made by us.

We are vegetarian and don't smoke, people are most welcome when they are similar to us. We were taught at home all our lives, we are now 25 and 26. Anyone who comes to stay will find a friendly relaxed atmo... more inside

Apologies, we're unable to host volunteers again until the autumn (from the end of September).

ESPECIALLY WELCOME: ANYONE GOOD WITH TRANSFORMING WOOD PALLETS INTO SOMETHING USEFUL! We have a large stack of pallets & would greatly appreciate help turning these into troughs for plants/vegetables, &/or fences.

We are an independent, not-for-profit hostel in a picturesque, historic town called Inveraray. Inveraray is in the southern highlands of Scotland, on the shore of Loch Fyne - Scotland's longest sea loch - close to the Arrochar Alps and Loch Lomond. It's home to several worthwhile attractions, including a castle, and there are several local woodland walks where you've a good chance of spotting Scottish wildlife. The town boasts lovely cafes, restaurants and very good pubs with live music at the weekend, a chippy, a decent supermarket, a whisky shop and convenient transport connections for Oban, Glasgow and Argyll. Nearby is an excellent craft brewery, an activity centre for ... more inside

Comfortable,self-contained, warm fully furnished accommodation available end of October, in exchange for housekeeping, cooking, and gardening/general maintenance of country cottage within Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. I am a widowed, quite severely disabled pensioner, following a stroke eight years ago, with an active dog and three cats, requiring 'granny minding', and support. I am easygoing, but do like a clean, tidy house and good, simple food.

Balquhidder is a beautiful rural area that has a friendly, disperse community. I like to think of my helpers as extended family living in their own 'house'. This placement could best suit a couple [the accommodation has only a double bed!]. If you are able to come and stay for several months, I would be delighted. This placement is really what you make of it - the work isn't difficult, but it is routine, with generally afternoons and evenings free. There is reasonable WIFI in the main house, with a promise of superfast fib... more inside

In return for 4 hours help per day you would get your accommodation (linen & towels provided), free breakfast, free WiFi, free laundry, also with access to an intimate & friendly but well equipped kitchen so you can sort out your other daily meals.
