Hello Helpers,
We are many families and single people living together, from 1month old to 80 years old, in the small village of Sus (south-west of France), near the medieval town of Navarrenx which is on the Saint James way. We have been living there for the last 30 years, having people joining us all along. Sharing everything in common, our home is open to anyone. We all live in a big castle ; families have their own apartment, single men live together, so do single women in their appartment. You will stay according to your own situation, either as a family or as an individual. We home-school our children (around 30).
We are doing many different activities you will be able to take part of depending on the needs. Here is the list of the main things we do : organic bakery, pastry, organic gardening with donkeys or tractor, including harvesting, woodwork, going to several local markets, etc. We also take good care of our chickens, sheep, goats and cows, not counting the work...

We are an elder couple living in France since 2000. We stayed 13 years in Africa, Mali. My husband is German, myself, Inge, I am French-German. It is now 2 years, we bought a small farm in the Parc Naturel Regional Perigord-Limousin. Last year we moved. The property is situated at the border of a small hamlet, the little road ends and forests start. We are no farmers. My husband is musician and architect, I am a retired technical adviser in Education. Nevertheless we try to transform a garden from jungle to a place where bio vegetables grow, we have 3 chickens (to eat their eggs) and about 15 sheep (to use their wool). Two big dogs Maxie and Snow (Pyrenees mountain dogs) need a walk of half an hour every morning. You have to be strong, sometimes, to hold them. The advantage of walking with the dogs is, that you go through wonderful local countryside and tranquil forest.
We renovate our little new home. There is need to help. My husband works together with artisans but he does ...

We are a young team of 8 people farming with dairy cows, milking and making cheese and other dairy products. We have also chicken, 3 horses, some pigs, dogs and cats, and an organic vegetable garden for ourselves. We are selling our products on the market, and to small local shops. We would like to host people from all over the world, and share about everything. We are not official organic farmers anymore, but are wise farmers, for whome its important to take care about animals and nature. If you are motivated to learn, to help, to share, to enjoy the place, you are heartly welcome, even with your ideas, we are open for everything. We are french, deutch and english speaking, offering you a nice place to stay, meals, and good moments together, each moment of the year!

Relaxed lifestyle with opotunities for helpers to leave their mark and hopefully enjoy the local culture and sites. Activities mostly concern the garden and housework. There no job here, it is more an intigration into daily life helping me whilst staying in a small village. After a long illness I need someone to help with the garden and general housework. It is a great pleasure meeting people from different countries and cultures and showing them this small corner of the world. If you have a favourite recipe it will be good to learn how to cook it. There are plenty of local music event which I like to attend and you will be welcome to come along. If you are a musician you may have the oppotunity to play. I prefer someone for a minimum of 2 weeks, with a month being a good average stay. I am looking for open minded travelers (not tourists) who do not have an adgenda whilst with me. I will gladly take you to visit parts of the region as there is no public transport here. I ...

My house is quite big. I've got animals: dogs, chicken, a few goats, horses and cats. There's also a very big vege garden. I work as a a goat's cheese maker. When I don't work and when I'm not gardenig I dance tango. Nearby, live one of my daughters, her boyfriend and 3 of my grandchrildren (1, 4 and 12 years old). Here help is needed with the animals, the general maintenance and the garden: feed the chicken, close the chicken house at night, collect eggs, give hugs to cats and dogs. Help is also needed with my 2 youngest grandchildren here at home or at my daughter's house (see it on the last picture, her host ID is 29552) Some cleaning is always welcome, as help for cooking and there's always little things to fix all around the farm. Independent people who don't mind having time on their own, will feel very well here. I'm often on the road because of my job (delivery cheese...), so you may be alone sometimes, or with my daughter and her family. It's possible to pick you u...

HARVEST 2017
Unfortunately our accomodation for helpers was in an old caravan that has fallen apart. So we do not have any availability for harvest for this year. We will be looking for volunteers for the spring at the beginning of next year if we can build some new accomodation.
----------
We are an organic and biodynamic vineyard and farm in a beautiful part of south west France. We are open to volunteers looking for a shorter experience of say a week.
The tasks are interesting and I will always try be involved with you to explain, and of course you can ask me lots of questions about wine and organic winegrowing. Some days we will be busy more than normal but you'll be compensated with extra time off when it allows.
When there's no vineyard or winery work, there may be some things we can do in the vegetable garden or maintenance things like painting, or weeding.
We do lunch and dinner together the days we work. We provide you with cereals, coffee/tea, bread and ja...

Hi We use to travel as often as we can (Morroco, india, Israel, Australia, eastern Europe, New-Zealand…) and we found a great way to go on travelling while we’re in france : hosting volunteers ! We are a friendly french family : Christophe : healer (osteopath) and meditation and Qi-Qong instructor, Maud : writer and actor's director, with 3 easy going children : Lin 12 years old and Enki 4 years, Zacharie 1 year and a half. Lin is a great French teacher, he is very talkative! And you could teach him some English too. We share our time between 2 places : - Our house which is situated in a beautiful area with fields and forests, close to a small typical village, not very far from Paris ( 2 hours by train). Here we are restoring our house which is really in the nature . -And our family house on the Island "île d'yeu" which is a small wild and amazing Island in Vendée (South brittany) . Here our kids spend most time on the beach... We live in an ecological way, we use dry comp...

We are a non profit association growing aromatic herbs which we transform into products that we sell in local shops and markets as well as further afield. Our eventual aim is to create employment for women in our beautiful area where jobs are scarce. Our plants are organic although we don't yet have a certification. We need help weeding, planting and harvesting! For more info about me, Lesley, see host listing 5474, which is for a now finished eco building project and has helper reviews. Accommodation for this project will be in our beautiful new strawbale home!

Currently looking for 23rd August to 3rd September.
I work a lot in the summer so need a little extra help walking our dogs and keeping the house clean. Must be animal lovers, our dogs are very good and can be walked off the lead - you can even go running and cycling with them. Gerdening experience is a bonus, especially growing vegetables etc.
All in all, no heavy or difficult work involved, just keeping things ticking over while i am too busy to do so.
I live near the sea and there is a beautiful lake walking distance from the house where you can also swim. I have a bike you can use to go to the seafront or explore the mountains and vinyards on our doorstep. Spain is just 20 minutes by car. We really are very lucky here as we seem to have everything - sun, sea, lakes, mountains....
I am vegan so this is a meat-free household, but i'm happy to share some very tasty recipes.
Pretty easy-going and have a good sense of humor. It's not the place for people looking to get...

Patrick's place,in a beautifull mountain area,is eagerly waiting for your visit.I'm slightly physically handicaped and would be happy to receive some help in exchange of sharing this little paradisiac space...Food is mostly organic, not totally vegan,no smocking in the house, but I'm quite open minded...Great collection of historic movies, french, english & spanish fluently spoken, also a bit of german & portugese. Some precisions about me and the place:I leave and sleep downstairs;and have a big room upstairs for my guest(s);two double matresses;I prefer people don't smoke in the house, but can be tolerant, when it rains...I have neither wired-phone nor home internet connection, only a cell phone with a basic subscription which allows me to receive calls and textos, either from france or abroad, but can answer only towards french phone numbers. So if you want to call me from abroad, send first a texto to fix a call apointment (at evening for example).I go down to the village maybe twice or thri...
