This is a permaculture and organic operation. We are in our first season of growing our own food and we also have a small shrub and tree nursery. We will be working on fencing and also erecting another polytunnel this season. We have micro-brewery producing our own beer and wine. we also have a strong ethos of foraging and finding. We are all graduates of a sustainable horticulture course and we want to thrive in the future. Our accommodation is in a mongolian handmade yurt. Chores will include childcare and garden work and making a cob outdoor bath.

Hi,

We are looking for someone to help with work in our Garden Centre & Nursery and looking after 16 acres of young Woodland, all part of a Permaculture Project, started in 1988.

Our Garden Centre is located in a beautiful Orchard in a very tranquil setting quite unlike other Garden Centres. Just minutes from the pretty little village of Caherdaniel on the Ring of Kerry which stands on the shore of Derrynane Bay one of Irelands most alluring locations, close to Derrynane House & Gardens and of course the spectacular Derrynane beach.

We grow a lot of our own fruit & vegetable and keep a few chickens for eggs. Everything is pretty much organic, but without the label.

There is always plenty to be done.

At the moment the main focus is on watering, weeding, tidying up the Garden Centre and making fire wood.

We can also do with help in many other areas, eg.: building sheds, painting, clearing wood & fire wood, weeding and preparing vegetable beds.

Whatever your skil... more inside

This hostel is a new build which officially opened in April 2014. The building consists of two stories. The ground floor has 4 en-suite rooms which can accommodate up to 18 people whilst the first floor is made up of a large function room and two smaller rooms to be used as conference rooms or dormitories, one of which is operational for 12 people.
Slemish Barn is located at the foot of Slemish mountain midway between the picturesque village of Broughshane and the fishing village of Carnlough, in the area known as The Braid in Co Antrim. The project has received funding from the Dept of Agriculture due in part to the capacity of the project to add to the cultural life in the area. The owners have strong links with the musical community and traditional fiddling in particular.
Website is up and running.

Hi! Help exchange wanted! I have a lovely house in Dublin City Centre with my husband and it needs an interior paint job (and some other minor odd jobs).
Im looking for someone or a couple that would like to stay and visit Dublin in exchange for 4 hours painting work a day. I would be looking for light paintwork around the house. Painting would involve single coats on most walls as I am not changing the colours.
The house itself is reasonably small, 3 bedrooms. You would have your own bedrooms and full access to everything in the house. We don't live in the house. We live closeby.
I am open to homestays for between 1 and 3 people. Ideally I would like people to have some painting experience but obviously don't need to be professional painters!

Dates: 11th-13th August 2015
I was hoping to have this done between these dates but would be potentially open to alternatives.

Hello helpers,

We are two young families who are beginning a business together. We will be growing vegetables and fruit to supply to a very busy hotel. We aim to marry permaculture with a commercial business. Our ethos is organic and being kind to the earth and yet we need to make a living to support our young children.

Currently we are at the set up stages and so will be needing lots of help with projects such as fencing, putting up polytunnels, planning, stone wall building. We really need strong capable hands to help with this stage and thinkers to help us generate permaculture ideas. Experience in horticulture or in any of the above activities is important.

In exchange we will share our lovely cosy home, meals, banter and knowledge with you. We have one room (can sleep a couple or 2 friends), with your own kitchenette (basic facilities) and bathroom. Vegetarian meals provided and no smoking premises.

We have ourselves been wwoofers in the past and want to provide o... more inside
