We live in an inner Hobartian suburb (3-4km from the CBD) on a 1/4 acre block in a 1930s weather board ex-farmhouse (now suburban dream house ;-). On top of work and raising a daughter and son, I'm trying to maintain a garden and house and can always use help.

We are five: Bernd and Dani, with children Gypsy Anna (2003), Leon (2013) and Felix (2017).

There are spare bikes for getting around, a few bus routes nearby and it's not a long walk into town (4km or 30-40mins) or the North Hobart cafe strip (1km or 10-20 mins).

I'm a seasoned traveller, ardent hitch-hiker and built a local games society from the ground up, now hosting competitive game meetings one a month.

I speak Esperanto, German and some French. Dani speaks English and Serbian. My daughter (1/6/2003) Gypsy Anna can yabber away in English and keep you well entertained, Leon yabbers even more with the odd Serb word for fun and Felix can't more than coo and cah and blare at the top of his little lungs yet.

Work consists of apple picking in April and mowing, fencing, weeding, apple juicing and more (like fixing tractors...) all year round.
Except for the main picking season helpers would work for half a day and have the other half off for sightseeing and leisure. Accommodation is in a warm and modern house nearby with ocean view and private beach access. Kayaks are available.

Hi There! We are a fun family of 4 (children, both boys, aged 14 and 11 - one of our children is home educated) and live on an idyllic 25 acre paradise complete with veggie garden, 3 hothouses, large berry garden, fruit & nut orchard, beehives (about 25), chickens, dog, cat, rainforest & a lovely big dam for kayaking and pondering! We attend a regular local farmer's market. We have been part of the WWOOF host program for the last 10 years and have had about 200 people stay with us and really enjoy meeting new people. We love life & have varied interests but our life is very busy with Soccer and Futsal and we spend a lot of time away from home doing these activities (of which, helpers are always welcome to come along). We have a large, modern and creative home and helper accommodation is a cute cottage in the garden (however, toilet and amenities are in the family home). Work is varied/seasonal and we are happy to accommodate your skills and interests when possible, please note thoug... more inside

Hi there,

I am looking for experienced horse people and/or a builder/diy handyman with the spirit to help create something great! What I expect from you is team spirit and a "let's do this" attitude.
I live on a beautiful off-grid property next to a mountain and the lovely Bluff River Gorge on the East Coast of Tasmania, approximately 1 hour from Hobart.
The daily tasks are mostly centered around the horses but meanwhile there are also heeps of other projects going on. We have some fences to built/moved,wood needs to be chopped and split and many other smaller challenges occur every day.
However,it's not just about work of course. Music, dancing, laughing, good food, little road trips and interesting conversations are part of the package.

We have 3 main trail rides in the State Forest with a ride going out almost every day. We also school some of our horses on the dressage arena. We have some horses just starting, some new ones to educate into the trail team and two foal... more inside

EAST COAST: I have just bought a vacant motel on the East Coast of Tasmania at a place named Beaumaris. It is about half way between Scamander and St Helens. I intend to use it as budget style, self-catering backpacker accommodation whilst I fix it up. At the moment there are no customers. Just Chris the owner and occasional helpers. Jobs include cleaning, tidying, painting, gardening, etc

The property has 11 separate rooms, all with showers and toilets, plus a common room, dining room, bar and kitchen. It also has room for camper vans and tents. There is a beautiful beach just over the road plus a recreation area about 3 minutes walk away which has an oval, cricket pitch, tennis court, bbq's and toilets. I have sport's equipment available plus bicycles. No charge.

I will have some photos soon but you can view under Surfside Motel in Beaumaris, Tasmania. The facebook site has good photos.
I need helpx guests to stay and help me tidy up the property. My arrangement is every ni... more inside
