We are an English couple who now live in Germany along with a few sheep, hens, ducks, quail, rabbits, cats and Perdy the Dalmatian dog. We have a big veg patch ,lots of fruit trees etc.

We are in an undiscovered part of Germany east of Dresden. The village of Cunewalde is said to be the most beautiful valley in Saxony. Lots of walking/cycling through forest trails and open fields. Bautzen (a wonderful medieval town) is a 20 min bus-ride away. Berlin 2 and a half hours by car and Prague a little closer.

As well as general help with the garden, fruit trees and animals I am looking for people next year to help make some gates. If you fancy some major work the barn needs LOTS of work too.

Our work routine starts at 7.30 and we work until 10.30. We stop for breakfast then and afterwards (depending on weather and what we are working on) we continue work, go out for a trip, or just have free time. The evening routine starts again at 4.00 with the round of animal tasks and ga... more inside

We need help with finishing our cob- and wood-based greenhouse/conservatory. We already have built the roof and foundation. The glass front is pretty much done. All has been done by hand (except for putting screws in). We would like to keep it that way. Part of your tasks would be to build the walls of the greenhouse and to implement the a grey water recycling system. You will learn how to do that step by step in both auto-didactic and guided sessions.
We provide two meals a day and a place to sleep. You should be reliable, self-sufficient and solution-oriented.

You've always wanted to stay at a small family butchery and farm where lots of things are happening and you get to taste some amazing local foods? - Then you just found the right place!

In line with our slogan „shop better – live better“, my family and I offer our customers numerous high-quality meats which we produce on our farm.It is very important to us not to use phosphate or flavour enhancers in our products. All sausages are produced on the farm itself, where we also keep our own pigs. We only feed the pigs crops and potatoes from our own harvest or from farmers in the region. The animals are slaughtered and processed on the farm.
Apart from pork and sausages, we also sell various other food items in our small shop, e.g. beef, poultry, potatoes, eggs, cereals, fruits, honey, etc.

We love food from all over the world and we have many friends from different countries, which inspire us to create new recipes and sell in our shop. We guarantee that you will have an unforg... more inside

Last minute and short-term opportunities! Currently we are renovating a wagon.

I own a small old house in a very quiet place on the countryside in the North East of Germany where I live with my partner. In my free time I take care of the property and try to develop the piece of land around it, which includes a small vegetable garden and meadows. Lisa the cat lives in- and outdoors. The living conditions are rustic and close to nature with a compost toilet and wood burning stoves, no tv, no disturbing noise. We are helping each other in our little village and we are living in nature, simply. Generally in summer there are a lot of things to do like sawing and splitting wood, making hay, weeding, maintaining the house and the garden etc. Currently we are renovating a wagon : sanding the old paint (manual and with a grinder) outside + accurately measuring, cutting and fitting polystyrene plates on the curved ceiling inside... The tasks are mostly physical but we work together and it'... more inside

We are a guesthouse (picture 1) - especially for handicapped people - cognitive and physically (pic 6). This house has got all in all 17 beds in 10 rooms (pic 2).
We (pic 4) are living in Trebel close to Nemitzer Heathland (pic3), this is a village of 300 citizens. So you got the opportunity to experience the countryside in between Hamburg, Hannover and Berlin.
We are looking for people (couples are also welcome), who like gardening and helping our caretaker. (Minimum time of stay 21 days) Perhaps help in the kitchen will be needed. To work in the service and with our guests it is necessary to speak at least a little German, not in the garden and kitchen. We hosts speak English.
We are glad to have an experienced helper, named Christine, who coordinates and looks after other helpers.
We offer an own room in the guest house (with TV and fast free Wifi) and bath room. You will also get meals for free. Vegetarian and vegan is also welcome.

We can talk together about the ar... more inside

Hello!
After a fire destroyed our house two years ago we are just in the process of rebuilding our hostel and holiday home "mundi" in northern Germany, 5 minutes from the nature reserve Lueneburger Heide and about 30 Minutes to Lueneburg and 40 to Hamburg. Also we run a homeopathic clinic for animals (and humans) and have a horse. We would be happy about help setting up the garden (plastering), with cleaning the hostel and holiday homes as well as help in the garden and household.
We have been living for a while in New Zealand - so our English is quite good - and we love to have guests and meet people from all over the world.
So we love to hear from you!
Sanne & Peter

Our family, Leigh from England (39), Babs (33), Cian (4) and our cat Fin live right next to a beautifull beech forest in the south of Germany.

We have bought this beautifull piece of land about 2 years ago and have been busy renovating the house and the annex as environmentally friendly as possible.

We are looking for PROACTIVE people who are open-minded and easy-going, at the same time enjoy sharing their support with us. We really want people who want to help and cooperate with us. If you 'just' need a cheap place to stay then please don't contact us.

There are different tasks we would be happy to share with you:
Building (like making clay walls, etc)
Household (cooking and washing up dishes)
Playtime with son Cian

A couple of intersting points for you to know:
- we mostly cook vegetarian
- we ask for 3 - 6 hrs work a day
- 1-2 days off per week

About us ...
we have both travelled to many different countries and love to exchange stories about adventures. ... more inside

Hi, my name is Sylvia and I'm Dutch. After having lived for the majority of my life in cities I wanted to roam around with Helpx, so I did. I fell in love with the first place where I stayed, many years ago. A very small rural village in Bavaria, Germany, at the Czech border. I rented the huge house and intend to stay here, with my little dog, for the rest of my life.

It’s a beautiful hilly area and the forests invite for long walks in which you may spot deer and boars and other animals. You’ll need a warm coat and sturdy shoes. Public transport ends in Weiden (train) or Lohma (bus), but I have a car, can pick you up and drop you off.

Plenty to see within reasonable distance like Nürnberg, Regensburg, München, and Prague. Ski and snowboard center at 7 km distance and lots of others a bit further away. In the holiday season, Christmas markets can be found everywhere.

You will have your own room (with wifi) and bathroom, and you are welcome to the rest of the house too. I‘l... more inside

Hello Helpxler,

Welcome to Hof HUFE!

We are a married couple Anja and Arne (both 36) with our two daughters (15 years and 9 month). We are living next to the Baltic Sea, Hohwachter Bucht.
We are not that typical farm, but we have one dog, two cats, 7 chickens and two ducks. We have "normal" jobs, but in our free time we renovate our old living house, stable and barn.

We can use help with the animals, the garden, the renovation / constuction / painting work of the house, woodwork, also cooking (we prefer vegetable food)and cleaning. It's nice if you have some practical experience. The sun is not always shining, so please bring subtile clothing and shoes!

You will have your own room. Kitchen and bathroom you have to share with other Helpx people.

Minimum Stay is two weeks!

You should have some basic skills in German or English.

We live in a calm and beautiful landscape and we are only 3km from fabulous beaches, so very good for swimming, surfing and fishing in... more inside
