I have bought a 2 room old house a couple years ago and have been working on renovating it. It is 100 meters from the forest and the Expo Hotel which has a pool, restaurant and different other services. The village is famous for it's therapeutic mud baths and scenery. This year I have planted an orchard and have a very small garden. I'm only at the beginning and there's lots of work to be done. I am not taking any volunteers just now. Hopefully in about a couple months I'll be finished with most of the work there and have uploaded some pictures as well.
I practice meditation and am interested in yoga, qi gong, alchemy, shamanism, the occult and pretty much all spiritual practices.
Update *05.Jul.2013* Still not taking volunteers and I have lots of work to do before. Not sure when it will be ready. Will keep on updating.
Thanks for looking.

Experience with horses is important!!

We are an event riding club, located in the heart of the country, in Transylvania region, owned by the event rider Viorel Bubau.
Our stable has 10 horses, form younger 4 year old horses, with very good jumping potential to the more experienced *** event horses, all of them energic, but still well behaved, well schooled horses.
We are looking for motivated, reliable volunteers, with riding experience, and love for the horses. Helpers need to be willing to do all chores that need to be done at stables, including mucking out, keeping clean and grooming. The respect for the horse and their well being is a MUST. About 30 hours a week work is expected, with a flexible work plan on which we agree together.
It is very important to have your own insurance, since riding is involved.
We are non smokers, but smoking is possible outside. We speak Romanian, Hungarian and English.
We have a nice apartment next to the stables equipped with everything yo... more inside

We run a family guesthouse in Romania's most beautiful mountain village, in the Piatra Craiului national park.

It is just my husband and I doing all the work, and we have a baby, so it is hard to manage by ourselves. We have a busy guesthouse, with people from Romania and all over the world who come for the peace and beauty of Magura, and the wildlife and hiking in the mountains.

We need someone who loves kids and knows how to care for a baby, and who will be willing to help me maybe with some cleaning, some cooking, or whatever needs doing in a busy day. But the main thing is to look after our baby, keep her happy and safe, so that I can get on with all the things I need to do.

We will give you a room to stay, and meals (preferably you eat some meat, but vegetarian is possible). You will have plenty of free time, of course, but can we discuss how to arrange hours if you are interested? It will depend on your interests and what you are looking for, so we can talk to find... more inside

Where we are:
Our farm is located in hilly region of Banat, in the original old czech village Ravensca. It was established by czech settlers in forests on the top of the hills only 18km from river Donau 200 years ago. People in the village, as they have lived here isolated, have kept the original old-czech habits, appearance and the way of life until nowadays. The village is dying very quickly, because all young have returned to Czech Republic looking for "easier life", mostly in factories in city-suburbs. Now there lives only 75 mostly very old but amazing and charming people in the village. The village has unique atmosphere and stunning views. Great place for hiking down to Danube valley or to other 4 czech villages in 100 km wide territory.

What is going on here:
We are building a self-sustainable small farm using alternative energy sources (wind turbine and pump, steam engine etc.) and permaculture principles in growing future food forest. We are building water retention s... more inside

Rather than a single farm, I live and work in a collection of buildings and small parcels of land on the edge of a small, quiet village in the foothills of the Carpathian mountains. My valley is away from any main roads and has no through traffic, yet I am only about 10 miles (16km) from the nearest town. Like almost all of my neighbours, I am involved in agriculture, pomiculture, animal husbandry and forestry. People here are cash poor but relatively wealthy in terms of good land and most are able to live almost entirely self sufficiently, much as they have done for centuries.

Apart from the main farmhouse, I have 3 cottages, each has a barn with stables and various other outbuildings, together with vegetable gardens, orchards, fields and pasture. I am currently negotiating to buy more houses and land on my side of the village and my long term plan is to create a sustainable community which combines organic agriculture with traditional handicrafts, apprenticeship schemes and sen... more inside

Hello! We, me and my husband live between Romania and Brazil and this profile goes for both places. We are extremely social, very caring couple and we like to please our guests and make them our friends. We are adventurous ourselves and we would love to be traveling around, but since we can't, we wanna be part of someones adventure's. We are a young couple from different continents, and it really works! The world is just one. Everybody is very well welcome.

In both places (Braila-Romania AND Porto Velho-Brazil) we live in a very good city location. There is a bunch of stores, markets and nonstop, Western Union/Money Gram agency, post office, Church, taxi and bus station around.

We have a private spare room which can probably fit 2 or (very tight) 3 people. We can offer a bed, a couch, mattresses and a couple size air mattress plus pillows and blankets if you need. We are comfortable keeping you up to three or four days. Please dont expect too much as we are just starting our l... more inside

because of some problems, this year I cannot offer daily meals. only accomodation.

we have a modest country house, 5 km away from Cluj in a quiet valley. there is no public transport but I will meet you up in town.
there is electricity but no running water and the compost toilets are outside.

there is work on the gardens, painting the house, building an outside sun-shower and a new compost toilet, digging a water-well, but work hours are flexible

I am a professional gardener and amateur ceramist so I can share my knowledge of plants and pottery: foraging for wild food, organic gardening, ornamental perennials, preserving food for the winter months, saving your own seed, etc.
we are also interested in art especially using unconventional materials and recycling things in an artsy manner.

minimum stay: one week.
