There is a nice old house in a fantastic area in the southwest of France, that needs a lot renovation now through the summer. If you can help by doing a bit of interior work, cleanup or renovation please contact us. The house is in a medieval fortified village, Puycelci, with a very large forest nearby -great for walking and exploring. The village is on the internet if you want to have a look. The house is near the tower.
We offer your own room with food in exchange for 4.5 hours of work per day, 5 days a week. We prefer two people that can work well together. We ask for at least 2 weeks -please no children and no dogs -the house is not set up for them.
Also close by is the great wine region of Gaillac, the interesting city of Albi with the famous Toulouse Lautrec museum, and several fortified hilltop villages from the Middle Ages. You can easily arrive at Puycelci by auto or by train to Gaillac where we can come to meet you.
We speak French, Italian and English.

We have sold our smallholding on the Isle of Wight and have bought a property in the foothills of the Pyrenees in France which we have converted to Bed & Breakfast.

The area is fantastic for all outdoor activities and easily accessible by public transport - check out the things to do section on our web site.

We are looking for help between the end of May to the middle of July. You will help with the running of the bed & breakfast; including cleaning and the serving of breakfasts and evening meals. There may also be some outdoor work including gardening and, Anya our dog loves a nice long walk.

Ideally, we are looking for people who appreciate the value of cleanliness and friendliness when dealing with guests at a Bed & Breakfast - we have very high standards (we don't say that to put you off but it's crucial to our success so far - have a look at our reviews on booking 'dot' com and Trip Advisor).

Most of our guests are French or Catalan so the ability to speak one of th... more inside

GENERAL HELP NEEDED IN RURAL FRANCE

We are Sue and Paul, we live in our French Farmhouse which has been renovated (still the land/barns to do). We are looking for some help between February and June 2017 and prefer a minimum stay of 2 weeks. There is still lots of work to be done.

There are plenty of jobs whatever your skills:
Help with laying new floor in barn
The boundary stone wall needs rebuilding

We are trying to increase the size of our kitchen garden and hope to set up some no-dig beds.

Also we have a very old Massey Pony tractor to help with ploughing, so anyone with knowledge/experience of these would be helpful.

We aim to be reasonably self sufficient (organic) within the next 3 years. At the moment we have 2 sheep (hopefully lambs soon), chickens and 2 dogs.

Volunteers may have to share a room but this would depend on how many volunteers we have, the accommodation is good and the rooms are en-suite. There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroo... more inside

In March 2015, we moved from a Belgian city life to a smallholding in an idyllic area in the south-east of Burgundy, where we are keeping chickens, bees, sheep, producing organic vegetables and we're experimenting with growing our own cereals.

During the last couple of years, we renovated the house and received lots and lots of helping friends (and friends of friends) and we discovered that we love working with other people, whatever their skills are. Now the house has become cosy and liveable, our attention is moving outwards.

Anyone who is willing to help is more than welcome, especially if you like both outdoor work and to give a hand in the household as well.

You will arrive in a young family (two daughters –Madeleine and Toinette- and a baby boy Josquin) where we love to have fun, to be outside, to produce authentic food and to have a good glass of Burgundy wine with a nice conversation.

Accomodation is modest but good: you can sleep in a tent or in the barn, w... more inside

This is a small stud specialising in breeding pure bred Arabian endurance horses. Our small 12 hectare farm is situated in Finistere, 30 minutes from the nearest beach, 2km from the Nantes, Brest canal and 20 minutes from Quimper. It is a beautiful and very peaceful location. We have a large garden, grow most of our own vegetables and keep sheep, chickens and horses.
We need help with cutting wood, clearing hedges, ditching, hay making in the summer, gardening and fencing. Also with pointing, painting, stone walling, roofing and general building maintenance.
We also need people interested and experienced in looking after and riding horses. People with an endurance background would be especially welcome to help train our horses.
We offer a self contained gite with a large open plan living area with double bed settee and kitchen facilities and wood-burning stoves and a large open plan bedroom with double bed and beautiful views and a large bathroom. We will provide accommodation an... more inside

Last year (2016) was concerned with renovating the old and leaky roof, and my previous guests in 2015, who were all SOOO helpful and talented, (Andrew & Lynn - thank you both so much) were lovely company and I'm deeply grateful for all their help. Andy and Suze were also delightful and gave much pleasure with their natural enthusiasm. I also had an excellent week with a really nice guy from America. Mark was great company, absolutely reliable and so willing to help and I am very, very grateful for the efforts he made to get the roof covered before the rains came.

The property comprises a picturesque converted farm building built of wood and stone nestling in extensive wooded grounds high on the valley hillside in the Pyrenees-Orientales with awesome views of the sacred Mount Canigou, the historic village of Eus and the surrounding mountain range.

Within a walkable distance to the nearby town, an hour away from the City of Perpignan and . Mediterranean Coast, 2 hours from And... more inside

Gardening, animal care, wood and construction work,... and all kind o outdoor jobs.

To go further with our project, we would need people who are used to the outdoor and physical jobs.
Also mechanical and building skills would be very welcome :)

A fantastic site, a crazy project, animals in every corner and two eccentrics in search of an improbable conversion. Here's what you'll find in the middle of the ruins of a medieval castle and its outbuildings.
We left Britanny to the Hautes-Pyrénées three years ago, to begin this life project as ambitious as exciting. With our garden and animals, we try to develop an educational farm, as well as a asoociation to save the ruins of the chateau!

Located 450m above sea level in the Pyrenean foothills, our little corner of paradise requires numerous works of all kinds to regain its former glory and to adapt to future projects: land clearing and building, logging, preservation of stone walls, development of livestock buildings and pla... more inside

Hello,

i am Julien and i live in a small house near the village of Moelan sur mer. I share the house with three other persons (Anna, Rozennig and Adrien). we need help for taking care of the garden and hens, pruning some trees and few manual tasks.
We dont have a separate room anymore, so it would be a tent sleeping stuff (in a nice spot), we have matress and sleeping bag though. You can live in the house all the time, but for sleeping you would be more confortable in your tent for intimity. therefore we ask about 2 hours a day in exchange with meals (almost vegetarian) and accomodation.

Around here, many things to do if you like nature sport or just nature contemplation...
we love music, friends, festivals, surfing and kite surfing, kayaking, cycling, cooking..

come and see

I am musician, 33yo, I am given a bit of land this year, i dont have too many skills, but a lot of ideas... i would love to host anyone with some skills or motivation to help turning the land in a beautifull/sustainable place: natural constructions, solar still, compost water heater, wind turbines, sauna, organic/permaculture design etc :D

Artists are welcom as well to create some art here and leave their footprint in the place somehow ;)

As well if you dont have skills there is always stuff to do here: gardening/cooking/digging/babysitting/... this month finishing walls with earth/lime, and natural water heaters system. Soon i will also need help with gardening/wood ! I dont ask too much work, but i need people who take care of things if possible proactive and finishing what they start :-) Mainly it is about sharing knowledge and skills!

Nice area, close to the sea/beach, you can cycle (two bikes here), do some very nice walks (islands, castle, wild river... ), maybe cano... more inside
