We are a sociable family of myself and my husband and our two girls (3 and 1.5). We live in a lovely house just outside Glastonbury with our dogs, cats, chickens and fish and numerous visitors.

We are really looking for someone who can come and help out with house work, gardening and playing with children to ease the daily load of work. My husband is working long hours as a publisher and I would like to be able to spend more of this precious year doing wonderful projects with our to little girls.

So it's just a bit of help here and there, and then you would be able to explore the countryside, read, play instruments and find out more about the fascinating historical landscape in and around Glastonbury.

Accommodation in the farmhouse or you can camp in the woods if it is camping weather and you prefer to camp. Meals provided, we are not vegetarian but are happy to provide veggie meals.
1 or 2 week stays preferred, but we are very flexible.

We speak French and Italian and Jipe is a Gypsy jazz guitar player!

At the moment (March 2014)I urgently need help in the house and garden because my husband and I are both 'getting on' and I haven't been all that well recently.

Gordon and I are a retired couple who live in a lovely part of rural England and who have hosted wwoofers and helpxers for several years.

I grow vegetables for our own use and to sell. I also market my own jams and chutneys. (I say 'I' because I do most of the work now: Gordon is 84 and can't do so much.)

We have some elderly free range hens, a collie-type dog and a cat. We did have rescue ponies but felt we were getting too old to keep them and found good homes for them.

Ours is a small scale operation but we enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and we value the help we're given.

We offer visitors a nice, comfortable room with double bed (an extra single bed can be made available) with washbasin and simple cooking facilities if required, although all our visitors to date have been happy to sh... more inside

From August 25/26th: Looking for gardeners and/or people willing to rub down and paint internal and external woodwork- training given if needed - patience in rubbing down with sandpaper, and care not to get paint everywhere, most important!

We are a Vegetarian Housing Co-op, set up 11 years ago in an old pub. 8 of us live here, with a large steeply sloped garden where we grow lots of soft fruit, some apples and increasingly, more vegetables. We have top bar bee hives and lots of bracken and brambles, too! There are 3 terraces where people can camp as well.
Although there are 8 of us, everyone is usually busy doing different things, and HelpXers work quite a lot on their own - so it really won't work for people looking to practise their English - much better for people who like quite a bit of time and space to themselves,
Members are involved with Tree Responsibility; cook soup for a local food kitchen; do green woodworking amongst other things. Although vegetarian for shared ... more inside

We are Paul & Alison and we are looking for a HelpXer now. We live in Oakham, Rutland in the centre of England. The county of Rutland is bordered by Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, and Northamptonshire.

We are renovating a small racing yacht. It is a Soling which was the three person keelboat in the Olympics from 1972 to 2000. A Soling is nearly 27 feet long, made of GRP, has a mast 31 feet tall off the deck and weighs over a ton. The steps of the renovation process are: taking off and labelling all the fittings; stripping and sanding down the hull and all surfaces; some minor repairs; smoothing the hull and keel; a final cleaning of the boat, painting it, and cleaning and putting the fittings back on.

The job will take maybe three weeks or a bit more. We also have some decorating to do if the weather is not great and a small green house to assemble so there plenty to do but none of it is heavy work.

Coming to us might appeal to you if you sail or would like to learn how to ... more inside

Please do not email- we do not require any helpers at the moment or in the near future

Hi!
Im Louise, also registered helper on the site and I live with my Father.
My father would also like help with the garden in the summer.
You would have alot of free time to explore and there is regular buses to wycombe where there are regular trains to London.
The room where you would be in is at the moment the room where we are keeping all the stuff while we are clearing the house out but there is a bed and desk and storage if you dont mind abit of mess and the sooner we can get the help the sooner the room can be made fit for more helpers!
Also I am rarely home and we would want helpers who are very independent,we prefer people who are happy to explore places by themselves. The best kind of helper for us is one who would happily clean, tidy, work for a few hours and then have to independence to go out to Oxford, London, Reading, High Wycombe and not just sit in their room all day. Yo... more inside

I would like to have a general handy person to help me with gardening and painting some rooms inside my small 17th century cottage.

You will have your own large bedroom with king-size bed over looking the countryside. There is a pony opposite who enjoys the odd carrot and apples off the tree in the garden.

I'm pretty easy going, work as a coach and career specialist so if I can help you whilst you are here we can spend time together. I also have a small complementary practice in the village offering Journey work, visualisation, and mindfulness meditation.

I value good health and would prefer somebody who also values and cares for themselves in a healthy way.

Non smoker and references are essential.

The smallholding is largely pasture with a recently planted hectare of deciduous broadleaf trees which need maintenance and replanting to take account of losses.

I have plans to redesign the farmyard as a garden which blends in to the agricultural landscape. I am open to ideas on witty schemes to make the garden more interesting. Ultimately I would like to open the garden under the National Open Gardens scheme in the UK. I need walls building, pathways laid out etc. a pond digging and a cascade planned and landscaped.
