Sorry-we are not taking helpxers at the moment. Phil runs an increasingly successful business growing chillies and turning them into chutneys, relishes etc which we then sell locally and at markets. We have a large garden and a large house and not enough hours in a day! We want help with the garden, general house maintenance and sometimes helping to run market stalls for 4 hours a day in exchange for a comfortable room and Phil's superb cooking! We live in a small village with limited transport but lifts to transport links could easily be arranged. We are 20 miles or 30 minutes from Norwich and much closer to several small towns. We live in a popular tourist area and attract those visitors who like walking/bird watching etc. The hours worked could be flexibly timetabled. We also have an elderly independent relative living with us. We can accomodate 2 helpers who could have their own rooms (or share if they prefer!)Short stays of a few days up to 2 weeks please.

Hello,
My name is Ania and I live in Oxford, I'm a photographer and a carer. I live in a small terraced house 30 min walk from the city centre.
I need someone from mid July for 3 weeks to help me with a few house projects, like putting up a cooker hood, some shelfs on the wall, a little bit of painting, decorating and also I'd like to convert one of my rooms into a small photography studio(need two build in wardrobes and backgrounds fixings) so someone with DIY skills or a carpenter would be ideal.
Oxford is a lovely town and there is always something to do, lot's of music, open mics and free gigs!
There are free English classes for someone who wants to improve English and plenty to do in and around Oxford. You can get to London very easily (buses going every 20min plus there are train connections as well) . You can walk to the center of Oxford or you can bike and you would be there in 10-15min ( you could use my bike if you'd like) There is a bus stop just 20meters from the ... more inside

We have started a building project in our garden and would love some help with this. It would be working with timber, stone and slate and covering all aspects of building.The task in hand,would need some-one to be strong,as it is hard physical work.We would love some-one with building experience. The accommodation offered, can be seen on our web-site,it is our B&B double room.Please do drop us a line if you are interested. I would like to stress, that this is hard physical work and if you do not like hard work, then this is not for you. Thanks for looking.

Can only host one person so if you were a couple, the other person would just get free board (but would need to get their own food).

Hi,
I'm in a beautiful spot in Derbyshire in a small georgian market town with direct access to the countryside. Mostly I live on my own. I am a Buddhist nun and live a quiet fairly solitary way of life, studying, working and meditating.
I am self employed and working full time for the next few weeks and so am in need of some help with general domestic work in the house and in the garden.
The house and garden is beautiful and fairly small and simple. I try to live chemical free as much as is possible.
You would need to be happy to abide by Buddhist philosophy whilst staying - no drinking alcohol, no playing loud music and no smoking.
The work I am specifically looking for is
* a deep clean throughout the house
* gardening, weeding
* tidying out my shed

I am looking for an im... more inside

Anyone fancy coming to stay in the woods? We are a very busy family and have been welcoming HelpXers into our home for about five years now. You would need to help out around the house and the garden that we just don't seem to have much time for at the moment.

There is a lot else to do such as some maintenance and building projects (compost loo and refurbishing and old goods wagon) plus firewood chopping and generally helping out around the place. Our garden needs quite a bit of work to be productive and we would really,like someone experienced in this area to take control and work fairly autonomously ,

A little bit about us, we live in a 100 acre organic woodland, on the edge of Salisbury Plain, 15 mins from Stonehenge and the rather more exciting Avebury (part of the same World Heritage Site as Stonehenge but somewhat older) is 25 mins away. The historic city of Bath is 45 mins and there are easy raillinks to us from Salisbury or Westbury or you can get to us by coach ... more inside
